vindictus trivia does not belong on this wiki. please remove all references to vindictus.

Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS01:48, 4 March 2011

Vindictus is the prequel of this game, so I feel that it should belong. Your kind of like saying that the Irish Mythology, which Mabinogi: Fantasy Life was based on, should not belong, yet there is a comparison page.

Also, Ikkisuki was comfortable with leaving the Assault Slash trivia.

Infodude57518:22, 4 March 2011

Waitwaitwaitwaiiiiit. Don't involve me in this! All I did was make a minor change.

κєνıи тαıĸ«)00:14, 5 March 2011

Too bad. Your involved. =3

Infodude57500:18, 5 March 2011

just because someone does not take the time to undo your edit does not mean they agree with it. they may be tired of editing some of your frivolous edits.

Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS18:48, 4 March 2011

not really a prequel... devcat announced that they take place in different world and their mainstream may conflict with each other...

Fallenone18:55, 4 March 2011

@Hengsheng120 Okay then. Also, why must it take you so much time to tell me to stop?

Vindictus and Mabinogi are different games. End.

Tellos23:55, 4 March 2011

I do still feel a connection between Vindictus and Mabinogi: Fantasy Life. Most of the things explained in the past seem relevant to what occurs now.

For instance, Dragons. How do we Humans obtain the Fire and Thunder Dragons? In the text, there were Humans labeled as "Dragon Riders".

The description of the Guardian Spider exactly matches the story behind the similar Giant White Spider in Vindictus.

Infodude57520:46, 12 March 2011

We don't need to know the similarities and differences between Mabinogi and Vindictus in order to play either. Else, we may as well reference everything else from every other game and real life.

κєνıи тαıĸ«)20:56, 12 March 2011

Guardian Spider came out as a promotion of Vindictus.

As for dragon pets, the description in their page state that it was [b]recently[/b] tamed by a dragon researcher named Majack (who, infact, is a developer, who suggested a idea of dragon pet)

for proof that Majack is devCAT, http://www.mabinogi.com/C3/News/Update.asp?mode=view&page=8&ReadSn=97058, who also thought of Final shot.

Fallenone21:01, 12 March 2011

mmm feels like we are attacking you aggressively.

im sorry if you feel that way.

just remember that we are just trying to make wiki cleaner and you are one of top contributer! ^^b

Fallenone21:09, 12 March 2011

I'm supposed to be prepared for aggression, right? That's probably what happened to the other contributors.

Infodude57521:28, 12 March 2011

user like sheifer was clearly violation and provocation.

This is just a conflict of opinion.

Fallenone21:37, 12 March 2011

Well, the view from Vindictus seems relevant, but that is probably from my opinion...

But its no doubt the Guardian Spider was based on Vindictus's story. And Dragons were initially tamed back then.

Also, it has suddenly occured to me that Vindictus's "Prophecy" was probably made up by Morrighan...

Infodude57521:15, 12 March 2011

It is. Still, different world, different story.

may i ask where you got the dragon part from? only lvl 30 in vindictus so i dont known much ;;

Fallenone21:17, 12 March 2011

Somewhere in Episode 5, Marrec goes to Rocheste to deliver this letter. He then sees Keaghan riding a Dragon.

http://www.vindictuswiki.com/wiki/Further_Investigation

Also, why the hell would Marrec be lying?

Infodude57521:25, 12 March 2011

yeah i saw the vid showing Keaghan riding a dragon on the trailer for the episode where you go to Rocheste.

Fallenone21:38, 12 March 2011

The reason your edits are criticized is because the majority:

1) Don't have to do with mabinogi (trivia sections).

2) Get reverted for being incorrect.

3) Are extremely wordy and make pages confusing.

4) Are not needed and seem to be made just to spin the lines around

5) Have 5th grade level grammar.

6) Contain speculation and not fact.

7) Contain an invalid explanation for an occurrence.

We've had to patrol your edits because they are atrocious and you make so many of them that it becomes a nuisance. While its true we get criticized for cracking down on a lot of people, its because we have standards for this wiki and people who refuse to meet those standards quickly have their edits removed.

Tellos07:15, 14 March 2011

I understand the criticism, but, I don't think its that hard to fix them.

But truthfully, undoing it entirely is not the right way to go. Sure, some of the information is hard to understand, but, part of it is relevant.

Also, you could just tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it.

Infodude57513:30, 14 March 2011

we should not need to know anything about Vindictus to understand anything on this wiki. Anyways, we already tried telling you a long time what not to do, and you didn't get it (perhaps you just don't understand). I'm irritated because this is getting way to similar to the Shadowboy132/DarkBlade132 incident.

Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS19:25, 14 March 2011

I don't think anyone one said "no Vindictus Trivia" either directed to me or in the policy, until now. At least I'm trying to do something, rather than sitting around and doing nothing. You should be glad that someone is trying to positive work around rather than performing negative things.

Infodude57520:24, 14 March 2011

Is it really positive if your trivias have been repeatedly undone, yet you insist on continuing with them? :\

κєνıи тαıĸ«)20:32, 14 March 2011

Don't bring that back up please.

But, what if (I said "if") the information was truly relevant.
Earlier, Tellos undid my edits on the Shadow Spirit page, claiming that calling the shadows "spirits" (which is what they were stated in-game) was "pointless". Someone else undid it because the information was accurate.

Btw, is there anything wrong with adding the links and capitalizing the first letter of a main word, like Protection?

Infodude57521:07, 14 March 2011

I'm the other user you're talking about there.

You did go through the article and change 'shadow/s' to 'spirit/s' where applicable, that was good. However, with that same edit you snuck in some other changes that weren't really necessary, most prominently *Shadow Spirit is Cichol's skill, and as such can be used regardless of which Goddess the player chooses. That line in particular I had to revert when I was undoing Tellos' undo.. @_@

This isn't the TVTropes Wiki; splitting one word into multiple links confuses the reader and breaks the flow of the page. In addition, the Shadow Spirit page doesn't even have a spoiler tag; naming the goddesses whose powers you can use on the page is potentially a bad idea.

The only other thing to say is, multiple consecutive edits that achieve different purposes are better than a single edit that changes a ton of stuff. I do this too, and I'm working on it, but if you're going to do something like fix the use of the word "shadow", do that, but make unrelated changes in separate edits, to keep the edit summaries relevant and make it easier for everybody who does quality control.

Thanks.

Domirade [Tarlach]08:11, 15 March 2011

No one, not even the policy (at least not from what I saw), said I could split a word into two links. And I don't see how naming Morrighan and Neamhain on that page is a "spoiler".

Anyway this argument is getting a little too long...

Infodude57511:59, 15 March 2011

I'm not an authority figure telling you you're breaking the rules. I'm a user telling another user that while it's not explicitly said you can't do that, it's (IMO) bad practice and a horrible stylistic decision.

Re: spoilers, yeah I guess it's not particularly cared about at least in that section, I was going to say someone who hasn't beaten G10 wouldn't know things, but if they're in that part of the wiki they're there to learn them I guess. Maybe most of the demi pages need spoiler warnings at the top...

Domirade [Tarlach]18:00, 15 March 2011

I'm specifically talking about the trivias. No attention to whatever you guys may be arguing about.

κєνıи тαıĸ«)18:03, 15 March 2011

mabinogi and vindictus is different game, different world.

They are both based on Irish Mythology but they are not based on each other.

Shall we close this discussion now?

Fallenonesigniture.PNG18:10, 15 March 2011

I agree that we should stop. Gosh this must be one of the longest arguments in history.

But I agree with Pyro though, should we make a page involving relations between Mabinogi: Fantasy Life and Vindictus? I mean, a similar page exists between the Irish Mythology...

Infodude57518:33, 15 March 2011

it's like putting detail about bagel in the triva for croissant page because they are both made of flours.

Fallenonesigniture.PNG18:45, 15 March 2011

...? I'm sorry, but I don't understand.

Infodude57518:46, 15 March 2011

They are both based on Irish Mythology but they are not based on each other.

Bagel and Croissant are both made with flours but putting triva about bagel in croissant page doesn't make sense.

maybe my comparison is poor.

Fallenonesigniture.PNG18:46, 15 March 2011

Well... They do have a lot of stuff related, right?

Infodude57518:58, 15 March 2011

Let me put it another way: would you write a comparative thesis on the similarities between dishwashers and microwaves just because they're both cuboid, have a side that opens on a hinge, and plug into your wall outlet?

Domirade [Tarlach]21:04, 15 March 2011

A human and a mushroom are both comprised of cells, so why aren't humans defined in mushroom's terms?

Tellos08:23, 16 March 2011

minor contributions like spelling and linking do not outweigh your content edits.

Hengsheng120·TALKCONTRIBS23:15, 14 March 2011

just make sure if the piece of information is really needed. some of your edit is rather restating and/or not that much important. Also, your opinion shouldn't be on the page, even on triva, unless it is obvious. For example, in Cichol's page, after his death, someone wrote:

"He will mostly likey to reborn, since what is the story without main antagonist?" and windmill introduction where someone said windmill is the best skill(i personally think its worst skill. make the game boring)

we dont need info like that.

another thing is that your sentence is usually subjective and comparative.

still, most of your contribution is greatly appreciated and useful.

Fallenone14:33, 14 March 2011

I don't really want to get involved, but here is my opinion on the Mabinogi-Vindictus conflict: Perhaps we can make Vindictus its own page saying it is a spinoff and also including the trivia and storyline connections on that page. That, to me, seems to settle both parties' needs. Other wikis also use this idea.

07:37, 14 March 2011

Great idea, check the Legatus page, and talking to it in the game, direct relation between Mabi and Vindictus.

Jasott02:03, 7 July 2011

Right now, I left the data on my Info Page.

Infodude57502:12, 7 July 2011

Not to sound offensive, but that data seems to be a little to casual. Also, Smash is considered more powerful than a normal attack here as well, it seems irrelevant to mention that.

Pyro - (Talk)02:33, 7 July 2011

Casual...?

Infodude57502:43, 7 July 2011

By that I mean your way of writing.

They fought for us,

First off, you should say Humanity, not necessarily "us". Avoid words such as "I", "we", "me", etc. Keep yourself out of it. Treat the reader as somebody neutral, uninvolved.

Kobolds are also infantry but also possess "lesser" technology,

That's opinionary Avoid opinions as well.

Also, try not to say words such as "can't", "don't", "I'll". Separate them to cannot, do not, I will. (Well, as I said, avoid "I"s. =P)

The "Ogre" Titan is actually a Cyclops but it is not labeled as one.

It has one eye, and it's called an Ogre Titan, that does not necessarily make it a Cyclops. Not everything large with one eye is considered a cyclops.

You may not believe it, but Fomorians were the ones who invented beer!

Don't speak directly to the reader. This is fine if your using it as your user page, but shouldn't be considered data.

Pyro - (Talk)02:53, 7 July 2011

Hehe... Well, this is MY page, so I can make adjustments as needed. I don't think there's a rule for opinionated, informal words on User Pages. If someone does eventually make an actual page, then they can reword it. Still, its my page.

As for the Kobold part, they clearly use "old-age" tools like slingshots and blowguns (or as they call it, windguns). In the case of the Gremlins, however, they use "modernized-age" gear such as machines, including flamethrowers.

Infodude57503:10, 7 July 2011

I never said this wasn't allowed in user pages, I use it myself. My point was, it requires some work before it should be used to make a page.

Pyro - (Talk)03:25, 7 July 2011

oh yeah, infodude, sorry that i forgot your question ^^;;

here you go: http://heroes.nexon.com/news/devstory.aspx?no=71&mode=view&page=2&bn=20

which means:

We Mabinogi Hero have shares same base (that is, ulster and mythological cycle of mabinogion) but different age. Many people think that Mabinogi Hero is the past, but please think that this is the different world in different dimension

still i like your user page ^^

it is very interesting

Fallenonesigniture.PNG06:09, 7 July 2011

Oh my god. I thought we already solved this problem. Why are we bringing this issue back up?

κєνıи тαıĸ«)14:49, 7 July 2011

im not? i just thought that it would be impolite to forget the question that he asked.

Fallenonesigniture.PNG16:48, 7 July 2011

I meant the guy who bumped this thread. :C

κєνıи тαıĸ«)16:50, 7 July 2011

Honestly, I don't care what happens...

Anyway, the announcement doesn't seem to be "in-tune" because Legatus CLEARLY referenced Vindictus as if it happened a long time ago. Either that or it's just Nexon failing again.

Infodude57503:17, 8 July 2011

Also, here's another thing to add to the list if you see fit: In Generation Fifteen they add a new sword that may only be bought through Ducats. This sword supposedly has the ability to become stronger by draining your blood. Didn't you say ogres were able to do that in Vindictus? It is a Fomorian weapon, after all. I've heard it been called Tyfering and Tybering. Something along those lines. I'm guessing it works like an on-off skill/action that inflicts poison on you.

Pyro - (Talk)05:56, 18 July 2011

Actually Pyro, the Bloody Shade is a herb, not a sword.

Also, Trolls consume Bloody Shade to increase their damage output, but at the same time, the plant absorbs the consumer's blood. Ogres had nothing to do with this.

I believe you misread that.

Infodude57512:11, 18 July 2011

More like my memory is terrible. =P But a connection is still very well possible.

Pyro - (Talk)17:46, 18 July 2011

Well, it seems to be referencing to the myth weapon, the Tyrfing, which doesn't exist in Vindictus. The myth supposedly "feeds" on people's lives, or their blood in this case. Dwarves, non-Humans, made the weapons, which relates to Fomorians.

By the way, in case you didn't know, Ducats are a currency used in Europe, aka he-who-shall-not-be-named's hometown. Even Romeo references the currency; "Here are forty Ducats".

Don't worry though. I've scanned through the Seven Episodes, adding in all the data I can record. I'll begin Episode 8 PT 1 ASAP.

Infodude57501:49, 19 July 2011
