Girgashiy strategies

Girgashiy strategies

You seem to be the most experienced with Girgashiy raids out of all active editors at the moment so I wanted to ask if this sounded like a valid strategy against Soul Absorption. This strategy assumes the following things, however, that I am unable to confirm since I haven't done a normal version raid yet:

  1. Soul Absorption takes a decently long time to prepare.
  2. Souls spawn directly on top of players.

If these statements are true, I think the best strategy for a well-coordinated party is to stack on top of each other when the Girgashiy starts the animation for it so that the souls all spawn on top of each other, and then one assigned person windmill spams or attacks with a high splash weapon to keep them from moving. This will allow all other players to freely attack the Girgashiy.

Also, in a semi-related question, in your hard mode runs, did your party power heal through contagion or actually try to stop it from spreading?

The statements are true, however for second one, the souls spawn at user's position the moment the light flashes on the screen. The tactic I used is usually, one person stalling the soul, and resurrects 15 others members (usually they just let their soul walk to Giragashy and then be resurrected by party feather) so they can freely attack Girgashiy, and stalling the clones is a waste of time (for other 15 raid members), although it requires a lot of party feathers to do it. Soul Absorption will end if all souls are gone or his purple bar depleted to 0. If all souls are gone before the purple bar is depleted to 0, he can spam that over and over which is very dangerous. As for my hard mode runs, we usually have 3-4 party healers and spam party heal to keep them alive and over-heal the Holy Contagion. And a high splash weapon may work, however it will not work 100% of time, because someone tried at Normal and failed. I forgot to mention, in Hard, the souls will run at "faster" speed than in normal.

I've heard about the party feather strategy before, but doesn't the Girgashiy heal for each soul absorbed? That's what the page currently says anyways... If the current page is accurate, 15 souls absorbed is 30% hp healed.

He does heal, but 2% heal for each soul absorbed is false. It is way lower than that, both Normal and Hard, once he absorbed around 10-20 souls, he only recovered 4-5% of his HP (10 --> 15%) in Hard (This happened after he used Soul Absorption twice after Mineral Hail once and some of us died from hail before he start to use Soul Absorption).

Alright, cool, thanks for the clarifications.

FYI, the information was pulled from KR Tester data. They may not have been able to verify everything, and given that people were already starting to do the raid in the first day in NA I had to get the information out of my sandbox ASAP.

That's fine, but we should correct the information we know is wrong as soon as possible. Maybe in the future, we should add that banner template we have if the content is new and some information has not been verified...
