it was not, no, but when the size they are on the actual page theyre used on, it did make it harder to tell the patterns of the dress and which parts are dyed together with the new picture than the old one. Also, both files are currently .png format, even if the old one WAS converted to .png

it is a higher resolution image, so I (now) see the reason for changing it, where as before I saw no reason, just someone liked theirs better, which is the reason I mentioned before, even though the link you provided shows the old one having what appears to be identical pixilation, and no real difference in quality other than the colors the dress was dyed in.

Yeah, Kapra didn't zoom it in enough.

Not going to zoom them in myself, but the ones you reverted to basically had pixels like these: http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/File:Converted_png_files.png

And on the wiki, pure png tops converted jpgs.

ok, I looked at the examples, and I zoomed in, and I still dont see any differences, at least... not any that a smaller image size would not explain. Perhaps you can show me it so I can avoid making the same mistake elsewhere?

Still slightly lazy, so I'll explain it for you.

This is a pure png file.

This was a jpg file that was converted to a png.

You can see the differences in the pixels. The jpg to png one has weird colored pixels around the flat surface, while in the pure png file the yellow is where it should be.

that is the one i looked at before, and saw no such differences in the two images we are talking about in this thread. that particular set of images are highly ineffective as they compare two images which are of different things, and make it harder to tell precisely what you are pointing at, and what it should look like. I have to leave for work now, but would like to understand what it SHOULD look like compared to what it DOES on the SAME image. Convert it to jpg and back to png if you have to.
