He appears in Fomor Mata, where he doubts the falling of his companion, Tethra, by the Milletians. Mata then gives the "honor" of the Milletian confronting him if they could knock him off his horse. He then proceeds to joust the Milletian only to fall. As he confronts the Milletian in hand-to-hand combat, he says that Neamhain is allying with the Fomorians and the Heart of Courcle will soon be theirs. After being ruffled in the battle, Mata falls, realizing he had underestimated them. He explains that Fomorians had trouble receiving the Caliburn and Heart of Courcle, and since Caliburn was of Darkness and Courcle's Heart of Light, which gave them that problem.
He, along with his troopers and Cichol, appear in Assist the Shadow Realm Expeditionary Force. However, he says nothing and leaves only on Cichol's command.

He and his fellows confronts the Milletian, Cai, and Leymore in Shadow Tara Rath Castle's Armory. He wonders if the Milletian was drawn to the Book of Partholon. Protecting the book, Mata summons a hoard of Shadow Monsters, stating the Caliburn always belonged to the Fomors and can not stand idly by as the Milletian attempts to find the Caliburn. Cai attempts to persude Mata by saying even Cichol knows what will happen and that alll of Erinn is in danger, and applies to Humans and Fomors alike. Mata says that Cichol is no longer their king, stating he is a coward and had forsaked the Fomor ideal. Before Mata could attack, he is stopped by the Python Knight who uses Shadow Death and kills the Fomorians and weakening Mata. The fallen Dark Commander recognizes the Uroboros Sword in which the Knight is holding, and killed by it.
