Story of Hamlet
Ophelia is introduced with Laertes, Polonius, Claudius, Hamlet, Gertrude, and Fortinbras. After everyone leaves the Castle Hall, Hamlet ponders to Ophelia on how Claudius could have married with Gertrude yet a month has not passed. Hamlet then tells how much he loves Ophelia and the two proceed to kiss.
As Polonius and a Courtier discuss matters, Ophelia rushes in telling them that Hamlet has gone undergone strange behavior. Polonius tells her that Hamlet is facing the 'ecstasy of love,' which is responsible for his 'madness.' Polonius then leaves to inform Claudius and Gertrude of the situation.
Due to grief within Hamlet, he speaks that he had never loved Ophelia, bringing her to tears.
When Laertes, Claudius, and Gertrude walk to Ophelia's grave, Gertrude mentioned that she wished Ophelia would have been Hamlet's wife. The prince, overhearing this, rushes out and speaks how he loved the 'fair Ophelia.'
