Talk:Flyer
In-game Name
Just wanted to point out that a flier is actually misspelled as "flyer" in-game. I'm not sure how that would change the content of this article if at all, but when fixing this up later you should mention this small detail. I don't really feel like touching this article up right now... --Powder Rune 23:20, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- I have a flier on me right now and it's spelled 'Flyer'. --Kevin (»Talk«) 23:33, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
- If they fixed it in a recent patch I'll be shocked. Thanks. --Powder Rune 00:14, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- Either way, I spelled it how it appeared on the ad board at the time, and ignored the web browsers spellcheck. I don't care if its' renamed or redirected to a different spelling. Note that the Board and the Flyer spell it "Flyer" but the inventory item is spelled "Flyer"
- If they fixed it in a recent patch I'll be shocked. Thanks. --Powder Rune 00:14, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
About return coupon rides.
It always seems to me that it kicks off the person riding when you click "Use", and they have to remount before you select a channel or they won't warp with you. This is something that should be mentioned clearly in the article, as it's happened to me where someone was going to give me a return coupon ride to somewhere, like Ceo Island or Another World, and they didn't know about this, so I ended up not being able to go with them. It was rather frustrating, and I imagine it's frustrating to everyone else who it happens to, so it should be in the article. --Jerl 18:42, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- Well, this doesn't happen anymore, so I'm removing it. --Jerl 22:20, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
- I've removed it, and the this never ever happened to me. Anyone who experienced "this bug" didn't follow the instructions. The PLAYER must not mount the pet. The Passengers mount the pet. So Simple. --KisaiTenshi 10:23, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
Can return coupons be used to take lower level players into hardmode dungeon lobbies? I tried to add it to the article and put a '?' so it would be confirmed or denied and all I got was a 'Questions don't belong in articles' when I've seen people do the same thing plenty of times. Anyway, back to the point...
Can return coupons be used to take lower level players into hardmode dungeon lobbies?
- Lobbies. Yes. Though summon caps are so much faster. --κєνıи (»тαıĸ«) 09:38, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
- However doing so is pointless since they can't enter the dungeon itself. There are other useless places you can take people as well, but we don't need to include them. The basic rule is that if you can use the flier/key there, you can take someone there. Dungeons exit when you use it, hence the only real place you can't take anyone is into an existing dungeon instance. The same likely applies to the Shadow world, since they've been described as instances. KisaiTenshi 06:59, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
Does it really require a mount? I don't even have a mount and I still can transport with it. ~ Darkblade
- If you want take someone else, yes. --Jαy 00:38, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- Darkblade, did you read the article? "Housing/Flyer/Return Coupon *Rides*", other names for it are "bus ride", "train ride" and "taxi ride." That is why it requires a mountable pet. You can take 1 additional person on a single mount, 2 additional people on a double-mount, and you can take 7 additional people by making every player chain the rides together. It's not described because that's a feature of pets, not the flier. The flier only teleports the flier holder. You see the same effect with camp kit, if the camp kit owner dies and someone is on their pet, they can take them to the camp kit's location. KisaiTenshi 06:59, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
