Talk:Food Effects (Long Term)

From Mabinogi World Wiki

I can't seen to fix the alignment of the of the White mushroom's lower effect.--Cronoxlr 21:56, 20 July 2008 (PDT)

I'm pretty certain that food items restore fullness based on a flat amount of stamina points, not based on a percentage. Like, I believe the large meat restores 100 stamina worth of hunger, not 100% of your hunger.Ziv 12:22, 21 July 2008 (PDT)

I believe this is correct, however it appears that any points that go past 100% hunger are then put into weight. So for example if you ate the large meat, when 99 full, you'd gain 69 weight. However there also appears to be an upper limit to the amount of weight you can be (for both "fatness" weight and body strengths), so if you simply spammed 12 berries after eating the large meat, the weight gain would never happen. But it also looks like that if you are at 0 weight, you do not gain any stat bonuses, and at maximum weight no bonuses either. So this becomes a really inefficient way to gain stats due to the amount of time needed to get hungry. --KisaiTenshi 7:04, 5 July 2009 (PDT)
I strongly agree with this idea of hunger restoration based on stamina points. I'm going through and adding hunger values for what foods I can cook. I test each with two characters and the hunger restored on my 230 SP character is vastly smaller than that restored on my 75 SP character, however the actual stamina points worth of hunger seems to be the same for each. This is the number I'm editing in as the % value for the foods. I know at least for berries the number on this table is about the amount of hunger-stamina I get from them. Also if anyone with exactly 100 SP can confirm the numbers I'm getting I'd be eternally thankful and will send you the food to do it..--Chammie Tea 9:26, 06 August 2009 (PDT)

I'll change fullness to the amounts that I can find out; I didn't start the table, so I wasn't aware of the original creator's scheme, and when editing it, I didn't want to bar them with my edits.--Cronoxlr 18:04, 22 July 2008 (PDT)

It appears that all the numbers were derived from data found in the game client, not trial and error as one would think. This is further proven by the numbers are also in the same order as the game client data file. Cooked foods have two sets of numbers. One set consistent with the table shown, that contributes to weight, and another set for temporary effects based on the quality of the item.

Hunger rate

is there a way to make your hunger rate faster without meditation skill? --Kevin 23:06, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Well, my method is combining meditation with counter, and when all my stamina is used up by counter, I cancel counter and use rest. That seems to make my characters hungrier. -Hakumei 23:37, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

How many of these do you have to eat in a row to get their effects?--.--OriginLord 13:26, Nov. 19 2008 (GMT)

will eating wen you are full still give you the stat boosts?Sozen Cratos Focker 07:50, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Adeno Says: I'm experimenting on this by eating Slices of Meat. I'm also using the Meditation skill to make my Food percentage go down faster to 50%. Whenever I eat slices of meat, I do it inside a tent where there is a campfire. Instead of filling up my food percentage by +30 (the fullness of one slice of meat is 30), if I eat it sitting down near a campfire, and then choosing to share it even if I'm alone, it actually only adds +15 instead of +30. This lets me eat 3 slices of meat each time my food percentage is down to 50%, the final result is 95%.

What I found out just now is that I only gained 1 point to STR, and I really am not sure how many points I gained for Stamina because I didn't look at it. All I know is, when I started, I had 102 STR, but now I have 103 after around 40 or 50 slices of meat in total.

Hello, original creator here. Love what you guys have all done with the article. :) Exactly what I was hoping would happen by getting it started. Just some background, the table was a duplication of a JPEG image I found quite some time ago. It contained a list of food and their potential stat and weight changes. It was apparently based off data taken from the Korean website or wiki, I can't remember which. The data was not my own. I no longer have the image so I can't credit the author like I should have sadly. But thank you for the contributions all the same. --Psieonic 15:05, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Weight/muscle loss & Giants.122:47, 4 April 2014

Weight/muscle loss & Giants.

My giant is on a steady diet of Coconuts & Coffee Berries. It keeps TELLING me he's lost weight & muscle mass, but after 2 hours, he looks exactly the same weight as he was born.

Likalaruku (talk)22:18, 4 April 2014

More than likely, you haven't reduced upper/lower body. Even if weight is below the default value, you haven't actually reduced the upper/lower body in order to see the changes. I can have maximum upper body and the lowest default weight, and still look fat in my upper body (...dreiw si ibam).

Also keep everything contained in one thread, rather than posting multiple threads about various effects that could easily be resolved/discussed in a single thread.
