Uhh, so its basically like Commerce Partner's mounting? Isn't the alpaca bigger than her though, and us too?

Yes. It's supposed to look comical. I believe there's a speed difference depending on whether you're riding or carrying too.

You walk at normal speed while carrying.

Walk or run? I see my elf friend running super fast while carrying it.

Cookie probably meant both. Some users just refer running as walking and vice versa, since mounts aren't exactly rare now.

Does anyone know if this applies to when someone else mounts your alpaca? would be hilarious to see that xD

I only mounted on my friend's Alpaca a few times, all of it was mounting it and not carrying it.

As specified on the detail page the answer to the question is no. Only the owner carries it. Everyone else just a regular mount.
