Is it possible to gather share with this Alpaca (shearing the Alpaca)?

As of now all I know is that I'm unable to share my Alpaca's fur (cannot let other gather from it), can't trade the fur nor' the robe.

Please, someone confirm. This could mean that the robe is exclusive to the owner of the Alpaca.

Ichigoyeh (talk)15:41, 4 February 2014

No. Everything you can gather or make is account locked. Including the fur itself.

Eos367 (talk)15:47, 4 February 2014

You can actually log onto your alpaca character and have other people shear off you (as your alpaca). I've seen it happen once, though when the alpaca person went afk, he started to wander around, and I think they didn't plan about the mp cost part since his friend left him shortly after.

Legit or Thingthatshallnotbenamed?

Infodude575 (talk)12:45, 9 May 2014

oh...wow...you can actually self-right click without "tools"

gg, Nexon, you broke something.

Did you actually test it for yourself or just look through the thread?

Infodude575 (talk)13:57, 9 May 2014

Wow... Can we verify this with other pets? Cow, snake, sheep, herb pig, etc.

Infodude575 (talk)00:58, 10 May 2014

Every gatherable pet has this option to self-right click.

Looks like some recent update fixed this (only tested with Christmas Alpaca, specifically)

Allow others to gather removal?

Infodude575 (talk)13:43, 10 December 2014

Bump. I keep seeing forum threads about this but I don't have an Alpaca myself to confirm its removal.

Infodude575 (talk)10:36, 16 December 2014

Occasionally will be carried by the owner instead of being mounted.

Uhh, so its basically like Commerce Partner's mounting? Isn't the alpaca bigger than her though, and us too?

Infodude575 (talk)10:19, 4 February 2014

Yes. It's supposed to look comical. I believe there's a speed difference depending on whether you're riding or carrying too.

Eos367 (talk)10:21, 4 February 2014

You walk at normal speed while carrying.

TheCookieBunny (talk)15:41, 4 February 2014

Walk or run? I see my elf friend running super fast while carrying it.

Infodude575 (talk)23:04, 5 February 2014

Cookie probably meant both. Some users just refer running as walking and vice versa, since mounts aren't exactly rare now.

Nise Panda (talk)05:04, 6 February 2014

Does anyone know if this applies to when someone else mounts your alpaca? would be hilarious to see that xD

Tharm (talk)12:37, 12 February 2014

I only mounted on my friend's Alpaca a few times, all of it was mounting it and not carrying it.

Nise Panda (talk)12:45, 12 February 2014

As specified on the detail page the answer to the question is no. Only the owner carries it. Everyone else just a regular mount.

Does the fur carry over to following days?

I didn't shear my Alpaca at all yesterday. Today, I seem to have been able to shear over 400 furs. I do not have an extra-drop knife.

Either I got the reset with pinpoint accuracy by accident, or some unused attempts can carry over to the next day. Anyone else have observations on this?

Hecate (talk)16:13, 18 February 2014

No it does not. I've skipped an entire day and did not get +200. You may have lucky finished or miscounted.

レキシス・ミカヤ (talk)16:15, 18 February 2014

I started with zero furs, and now I have two bags and 39 furs leftover. That's a total of 439 furs gathered. With a knife that does not have any drop upgrades. If it was just lucky finishes, I'd need 100% luckies, with at least two being huge. That just doesn't work out. I suppose I happened to hit whatever the reset time for the counter is unknowingly about halfway.

Hecate (talk)18:40, 18 February 2014

Hmm...not sure then. You probably did shear near the reset time and it seemed like you had more.

レキシス・ミカヤ (talk)19:24, 18 February 2014

Can you use it for other transport methods or is it limited to wagon?

Infodude575 (talk)15:57, 4 February 2014

I believe it's limited to wagon, but my friend didn't try testing. oO

Also, another question in regards to commerce. I'm pretty sure my friend told me his inventory size was 10 (that's up by 2, not 1), and the weight to 1100 (that's up by 200, not 300). Who edited that?

TheCookieBunny (talk)16:10, 4 February 2014

Wagon only.

Eos367 (talk)16:15, 4 February 2014

Sigh, I miscalculated on the weight part.

Infodude575 (talk)16:16, 4 February 2014

Fun fact: the Alpaca does not lose summoning time because it's actually desummoned automatically once you start the run

WhitePass (talk)19:12, 5 February 2014

Then why the hell isn't it worded like that?

Infodude575 (talk)20:52, 5 February 2014

Wool Collection

(Starting new discussion because it's a different topic)

My friend is curious as to whether or not "a day" means in-game, or in real life. I'm having her test it out, but it'd save us the trouble if the person who edited that part specifies. =)

TheCookieBunny (talk)15:43, 4 February 2014

Is there really a 200 limit? I don't recall other pets having one (or there is, but no one ever mentioned it).

Infodude575 (talk)15:55, 4 February 2014

Even with enough MP, you cannot shear more than 200 times. But you can still get more than 200 fur in a real life day with an upgraded gathering knife and lucky gathers.

Dias (talk)16:06, 4 February 2014

Thank you for the clarification!

TheCookieBunny (talk)16:08, 4 February 2014

What about the sheep and herb pets and other gatherable ones? Are they limited as well?

What happens if you try shearing 201 times?

Infodude575 (talk)16:18, 4 February 2014

"You aren't able to shear any more fur from this Alpaca today."

Other pets have no limit. I've pumped thousands out of herb pets in a single day via whole guild gathering while mana elixirs were plentiful.

Eos367 (talk)16:22, 4 February 2014

Considering the stuff you can make from the fur of an Alpaca, I'm not surprised.

レキシス・ミカヤ (talk)16:42, 4 February 2014

With it all being account locked it is a somewhat pointless limit. What are you going to do? Make 500 robes you can't do anything with?

Eos367 (talk)16:49, 4 February 2014

yes

WhitePass (talk)16:50, 4 February 2014

If the Alpaca Storage bags are tradable, then yeah...trust me, it's better than taking a ton of space rather than have 1 confined space for a 100 materials of a particular type.

レキシス・ミカヤ (talk)18:35, 4 February 2014

I wonder why the hell they aren't tradeable in the first place..

Infodude575 (talk)18:29, 5 February 2014

Considering how long those other pets have been here for, it's safe to say that they don't have a limit. I think this is mainly so that a mass production of Alapaca stuff doesn't happen.

Edit: I forgot a word there.

Nise Panda (talk)16:20, 4 February 2014

What are they trying to do, limit our Weaving training?

Another question, does it reset at 12am or 7am?

Infodude575 (talk)16:39, 4 February 2014

ರ_ರ...。

Only time will tell...

While we're at this, Multiple alpaca don't share the 200 count right?

レキシス・ミカヤ (talk)10:27, 5 February 2014

I would presume so. Wouldn't make sense if the limit wasn't alpaca-specific.

TheCookieBunny (talk)13:05, 5 February 2014

Never saw the point in owning multiple of a limited pet :x. If that's the case I may spring for another...though I don't think I want to level another alpaca to 60~65....

レキシス・ミカヤ (talk)13:42, 5 February 2014

80 spaces of inventory for 10 dollars is a good enough reason. Practically replaces all non-hotkey or AOE pets (but not like, you know, warp imps).

WhitePass (talk)13:48, 5 February 2014

Dressing room pretty much freed majority of my space, so I think I'll be fine :x

レキシス・ミカヤ (talk)13:58, 5 February 2014

Or spam summoning Ice Dragons to keep the enemies stunlocked, Bone Dragons to dish out tons of damage and cripple enemy defense, or Pegasus to deal more tons of damage.

Infodude575 (talk)13:52, 5 February 2014

No, I have 2. 400 fur a day.

Eos367 (talk)20:10, 5 February 2014

Speed rating

Don't know where the scale is, but as I posted in a comment, it's slower than a pegasus, but faster than a nimbus... Somewhere in between, I guess. But no one knows Pegasus's speed rating either. :l

TheCookieBunny (talk)15:42, 4 February 2014

I can confirm that it is possible to control a golem whilst holding your alpaca, and it looks very very funny too xD
