What the crud.

What the crud.

Okay first of all, a rant.

I'm level 1.2k. I have a lot of melee skills. I'm dual wielding beam sabers right now. I can't handle bandit spawns anymore, not even in trans+Demi. What dunderhead in Nexon came up with the idea of making bandits STRONGER? They were already hellish.

Now for the real thing.

Do Bandits now FOLLOW you when you log off? I've logged off during an ambush (Because between emain and tail I got hit by 10 master bandits at once, going back to my rant)and upon logging back in they were all still there, and all immediately started attacking me again. I even logged back in on a different channel.

Commercing is just annoying now.

Spaghadeity18:03, 6 April 2012

1: Bandits aren't stronger.
2: G15S3/S4 only makes bandits more common, not harder. This is because it is way too easy to level with commerce, and I know that out of personal experience.
3: No, must be a coincidence.

Pyro - (Talk)18:17, 6 April 2012

I agree with your rant. I have Dual Fomor Falcatas w/ 164~258 Dmg range and I do around 4k w/ Smash Crit and w/o Trans. In Commerce, with that dumb 50% penalty lowers my Dmg to 2k. And a group of Masters obliterated me even with Trans+Demi.

I'm pretty sure bandits aren't supposed to follow you, since before G15S3 they disappear once you log. Something might have changed, idk.
Or perhaps another bandit ambush spawned right after you logged.

@Pyro I thought they just added Outlaws to Commerce which tend to spawn very frequently.

Infodude57518:19, 6 April 2012

I gotta agree with Pyro on all points. You should be able to easily handle the bandits in trans and/or demi at your level, no matter the str of the bandits. I certainly can and I'm around your level.

DANTE20XX18:21, 6 April 2012

Pyro, it made them stronger by the merit of making higher level bandits spawn more easily. I've never encountered master bandits before on my standard routes. Now I hit veteran and master all the freaking time. The weakest I've seen recently is hardened.

I could kill them one on one. But you get instantly multi aggroed. I have Demi+Mana shield up and I still get killed.

And er, they were most certainly the same bandits who were just screwing with me, since they still had the stars they got from screwing with me. Anyway this wasn't to QQ. This was just to point out that I got followed to another ch by a group of bandits.

Spaghadeity18:46, 6 April 2012

I think its because you just stepped onto another ambush spot in the other channel. You can try again to confirm it.

Infodude57518:55, 6 April 2012

It's possible, but they already had stars and there was noone near me. >_<

Spaghadeity19:24, 6 April 2012

A slightly different incident to add to the list...

Today I was commercing to Tir Chonaill via Dugald Aisle when I had to leave for dinner. After a while, I come back to find I've d/ced. What was more surprising that my character was lying on the ground, dead. Somehow he had set off an ambush and was killed while sitting still near a tree.

Did something in the game files get mixed up...?

Akira15:38, 7 April 2012

To my understanding, if a bandit spawns on you, you have like 20 seconds to run away or change channels because running in the wrong direction can set off the bandit.

Pyro - (Talk)15:41, 7 April 2012

I'm not sure what that has in relation. I didn't spawn a bandit before I left for dinner, the bandits spawned on me while I was rooted on one spot.

...Or do bandits suddenly spawn in random locations now?

Akira20:49, 7 April 2012

The trigger always spawns in random locations and moves after X minutes regardless if it was triggered or not. So, if they spawn on where you are, you have about 20 seconds to leave or they will be triggered because you are within the range.

Pyro - (Talk)21:01, 7 April 2012

Interesting. I'm level 1.5k and I never had problem with the new commercing o.o

In fact, I liked it more since I got my ruthless and rough badges WAY faster. And now I have the Ambush enchant :D

And Pyro, from what I can see, they increased the chance of stronger bandits showing up, not more common.

And Spaghadeity, I had that happen before. I DCed, and logged into a different channel, with the exact same mobs. Let's just say that devCat does random things.

And even in commerce, I found the bandits to be fightable o.o

50% decrease in damage does slow things down, but if you have a high damage yourself, it shouldn't be a big problem (My damage is 246~398, using my battle swords, 7.4k crit smash w/out trans)

And again, even as commerce gets more annoying, we can't change it can we? :/ You just have to get used to it.

ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)15:37, 15 April 2012

A bit off-topic, but how the hell do you have THAT much damage? I'm only 2.1k and my dmg is 176~271 w/ Fomor Falcatas.

Infodude57520:17, 17 April 2012

Battle Sword gives much more damage than Fomor Falcatas, plus my battle swords are special upgraded with red stones o.o

And I'm pretty much maxed out on melee, only lance charge, final hit (2 ranks) and charge (only 2 ranks) left to go, and carpentry, fireball, blaze, fishing o-o

And I also use clothing (extraordinary ambush) with accesories for damage. My damage is 255~410 now. Without my combat gear, I do 212~343, so I get good amount of damage from enchant.

ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)13:56, 25 April 2012

@Ironwoman I've experimented with the updated bandits a bit more. I found that there is a lower chance of encountering harder bandits and a lower chance of encountering weaker bandits. They made the spawn rate seemingly more gradient. (And bandits are definitely more common.)

@Spaghadeity I tried it a few times, that never happened to me.

Also, I've found that if you get aggroed by a pursuit bandit while in commerce, they become commerce bandits and try to steal from you.

Pyro - (Talk)16:00, 15 April 2012

You are the only that I've heard saying that o.o

I did experiment with the bandits too, as did other people. If I transport bunk beds from Tara on elephant, the same spot that would have had hardened bandits made vets spawn instead. And this is the case from many people too. Try other transport goods and see if the spawns are hardened. From my experience, it is.

But your last sentence is right. To add on, vice versa happens too. The bandits that someone triggered in commerce might aggro you if you're in pursue mode. In addition, they do drop outlaw homestead passes, as long as they're killed by someone in pursue mode.

ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)16:23, 15 April 2012

I definitely think they raised the difficulty with the bandits, no matter where I went before trading incubus suits from dunby, I'd have never run into anything harder than hardened, however now, I'm running into vets. By the way, has anyone else had this problem: You're traveling and you hit a bandit, you fight them off, but 10 seconds later of traveling, you get ambushed again, however, this time, there's no warning, and there was no "hiding" bandit that spawned on top of you. The bandit boss just appears and summons minions to steal your stuff?

Shorty15:03, 5 May 2012

That was already established and yes, that has been present since Commerce was released. (No it's not a glitch by the way. Bandits tend to attack you all at once then after you finish 3~5 waves they stop completely and don't spawn on that map for a while. Doesn't happen everywhere but it is really common in places like Blago Prairie.)

Pyro - (Talk)15:15, 5 May 2012

How is it not glitched if bandit spawns become invisible to you unless they start moving?

Infodude57520:54, 5 May 2012

Because that was intent?

Pyro - (Talk)20:58, 5 May 2012

Where did they say that? o-o

That would be really ridiculous if it was intended...
