Generation post Quests Reorganization
You get metal conversion quest during G9. It came out in G10S2. And its in the Alchemist tab (the tab isn't just for G9).
Shamala and Nightmare is irrelevant to "G17". THey are both deemed sidequests by both KR and NA, and the only reason we decided to give them their own page was because in early updates of the Drama/Saga, they were prerequisites to the Drama/Saga (that requirement turned out to be removed and never added to NA). I was the one who requested that they go to their own page, which I don't regret (though I do regret putting the false label "Generation 17:" before it).
My points are:
- Shamala/Nightmare should be renamed as to not have the "Generation 17:" tag I previously added. Just because there isn't a generation quest in that update doesn't mean we bump up the nearest sidequest to that status. G4, 5, and 6 didn't have generation quests, I see this as no different. And if we were to update the status of a sidequest to mainstream quest, why Shamala/Nightmare? Huw's quest chain is just as relevant to the topic, and it came first.
- I am fine with Shamala/Nightmare getting their own page, so long as every sidequest gets its own page. All or nothing.
- I think Sidequests can be lumped together by tab, saying "Alchemist Tab Sidequests" or something similar to that, but not by "Generation 9 Quests" or shit like that. Besides, the latter wouldn't be as easily recognizable to new players as the old one, nor do the masses of seasoned players know that terminology either. But if one is to look for help in a quest they have in the Alchemist tab, then it would be simple search.
- Labeling things like "G9S2" or the like is really confusing. As said, Metal Conversion is obtained after G9 but came out in G10. Likewise does the Story of Golven, came out in G14 but obtainable after G13 (or was it Ascon that was like that?).
The shorthand would obviously not be the main label. Also, I was thinking about the subpages not separate pages with names. If the sidequests did have their own subpages, they may or may not have a generation name depending on how it's titled otherwise. I think it would be too wordy of a title though, so Alchemist: Metal Conversion Quest would be fine; Generation 9: Alchemist: Metal Conversion Quest would be ok just kinda wordy. The generation designation modifies the generation name in that context, not the subquest itself.
In my opinion, long quest chains may as well have their own pages. I think this page was originally intended for one-quest quests. However, I'm sort of used to have sidequests that come directly after a main quest chain be associated with that generation and its quest chain. Like Pierrick's violet flowers quest or more appropriately the Dark Knight subquest for G3. I really hope I wouldn't have to draw a technical line between what's a generational subquest and non, in that regard.
I was thinking more along the terms of (G9 for example) Generation 9: Alchemist/Sidequests. if you wanna lump them based on Tabs, it would be Chapter 3: Alchemist Sidequests and lump them all there. Same with Shakespeare (Chapter 4: Shakespeare Sidequests and so on for anything listed here. Dark Knight Quests needs to be moved though...probably Generation 3/Dark Knight Quest or move it to Dark Knight's page?
