Rank F costs 2 AP

Rank F costs 2 AP

IIRC, don't you get it automatically to F once you talk to Shamala? Then how does it cost AP?

... I think I must have gone brain dead

I can't tell if you're asking, so I'll answer anyway.

Firebolt has a AP requirement to rank from N to F. This was the required method to obtain Firebolt past Novice before the beginner quests came out. Since then, you can learn Firebolt, and it will be directly ranked to F without using AP, despite having an AP requirement.

The case here is the same, except not rewarded through a quest, rather an npc.

If the NPC did not reward you with Rank F, and instead just gave you Novice with 100% training, you would be required to spend 2 ap to rank it to F.

So basically:

  • If have 2 AP, it automatically gets to Rank F.
  • If not, you get Rank N and 100% Training?

No, in both cases, you will get Rank F.

I was just saying theoretically, if Shamala didn't automatically give you Rank F.

Err, what happens to the 2 AP if you don't have it?

Infodude575 (talk)01:35, 27 December 2012

Then you cannot rank it?

Again, currently, because the NPC gives you the skill at rank F, there is no need to "rank" it, therefore you save 2 AP.

If the skill were given at novice, then you'll have to rank it, like normal skills.
