User:LexisMikaya/MML 101 Guide/Instrument Ranges
Instrument Ranges
The following is a list of known notes that can be played by each Instrument. Some instruments share the same range of notes that can be played. All variations are listed, such as the Solar Glory Versions.
Since Octave 0 cannot be played by normal means (i.e. using an "<" at Octave 1, or using o0.), Note Pitch will be listed instead.
- Playable Notes refers to notes that can be played without it looping or sounding off when transitioning into other octaves, or the instrument's intended range.
- If an instrument has the same repeated octave for all notes, Octave 4 will be listed an considered as "playable".
- If an instrument sounds the same on all notes, all notes will be listed.
- Low End Repetition refers to notes that replay the same octave if it is below the instrument's intended range.
- High End Repetition refers to notes that replay the same octave if it is above the instrument's intended range.

o7cc+dd+e | Strangely, Octave 3 is essentially the repeated Ocataves 1 and 2, but with an extra sound.
Octave 5 and 6 sound similar, as going higher causes the extra sound to goes away at Octave 6. Debatable if it's a repeated note set. Reason behind this is unknown. Maybe it has something to do with the dual flutes? No idea... |

o2cc+dd+eff+gg+aa+b
o3cc+dd+eff+gg+aa+b

They all seem to play same octave. Through the information given to me (and creative guessing), only the Kingfisher plays note o7c/n84, which actually is a high C, rather than low C. |

Capable has a full octave and sounds more Snare Drum-like than the our current one. Perhaps it was a bad switch? have yet to cross check with other servers, but probably won't get around to it. |

Sustainability
Each instrument has a "sustainability" for how long a note can be held if no rests are in place, and if the note was played across more than 10 measures. Below is a small chart detailing my findings.
Instrument | Indefinite? | Notes/Oddities |
---|---|---|
Lute | Yes | Creates a humming sound if held. |
Ukulele | No | Very short. |
Mandolin | Yes | Creates a humming sound if held. |
Flute | Yes | Holds same note. |
Whistle | Yes | Holds the same note. Popping and humming sounds can be heard (Maybe even sounds louder?) |
Chalumeau | Yes | Holds same note. Popping sounds can be heard. |
Roncadora | Yes | Holds same note. Gives a sort of phasing in and out vibe... |
Physis Tuba | Yes | Holds same note. A low buzzing can be heard. |
Lyre | No | Sound fizzles out at the end. |
Hand Chimes | No | Static can be heard after note ends. |
Electic Guitar (Normal) | No | Lasts quite a bit, about 4 seconds. Some note emit some feedback or some as it ends. |
Electric Guitar (Distortion) | No | Longer than normal Electric Guitar sounds. Can actually hear some of that Electric Guitar feedback on some notes. |
Piano | No | Some notes are longer than others, such as lower notes being longer than higher notes. |
Violin | No | Some strange buzzing/humming sounds can be heard as notes play. |
Cello | No | Very long notes. Same buzzing/humming sound can be heard as notes play. |
