Thanks for pointing out those replacements. I didn't notice them getting replaced at all o3o;...

Although the aim of the wiki is to have quality information/images, I agree with the fact that there is fine line between uploading detailed screenshots to improve the wiki and uploading overly zoomed in/distorted screenshots out of vanity. Like you said, after zooming past a certain point, the picture quality drops. I mean, how often are people going to be pressing their face up against a screen in order to see some minute detail on an overly zoomed item? (I'm posting this here instead of the original discussion since people have asked to stop posting there >>)

I've found that it is always the same three or four people who do this too, which is getting quite frustrating. I remember back when the animal event someone uploaded gigantic images of the... bear footwear(I think?) that were really pushing it on size. It is quite frustrating on other people who do contribute... Plus I know that a certain member goes as far as to repeatedly revert images and "politely" inform the previous contributor of why their image was better.

At this point, I'd almost suggest that the Admins create a rule for images stating that if a person believes an image was wrongfully replaced, they be reported of the matter and the admin makes the final call. I've seen plenty of revert wars that involved the same previously mentioned user saying "but mine is better even if x is wrong, because yours has x, y, and z wrong with it!".

This kind of thing really makes me question why Mari server is considered to be the server with the most immature players, considering most of the players I've seen doing this are from the other servers >>;;;

I have a feeling I know the people you're talking about XD...but as for the whole "but mine is better even if x is wrong, because yours has x, y, and z wrong with it!", it depends on the situation. i.e. I upload an image to replace one that has names showing, black/white color set, ego weapon out, and is pixel-y with one that corrects all of those issues, but has crappy lighting. (notice how zoom was put as a reason though?) The one that I upload would probably be "fine" so to speak.

Oh and it wasn't the bear shoes, I think it was the only other one >_>;

Yeah, I'm kind of just wanting to bang my head into my keyboard when I see things these days. Half the time I forget what I came to the wiki to add/update because I get sidetracked and give myself a lovely headache over it all. Also the whole xyz thing was just pointing out people being nit-picky, not the more severe cases where any change would almost be an improvement x3

I'm sorry, why did you post this here..? If you mean the image with the Falcon, the original image was a jpg, and the new one is a png I created myself using my elf, not the old image saved again as a png.

EDIT: Yeah, if that is what you mean then I worded it the wrong way when I uploaded the image; it isn't a re-saved jpg. Sorry for any confusion that might have caused.

Are you sure? Because I still see discoloration when I zoom in on the picture. O .o

I'm sure, I took a screenshot using PrtSc and pasted it into photoshop... and the file is a png. :/

You can't really convert an image on a page in that sense. The old page was for the jpg version, so you'd need to make a new page for the png version that you took. You'd have to then redirect the page that linked to the jpg page to the png page. You did it correctly o3o.

Oh, alright! I wasn't too sure since I've seen a few png images that had jpeg revert options... so I wasn't too sure what was going on!

You could take it in front of the statue. It'll solve the black handle blending in with the black doorway.

You may want to watch your contributions. After reviewing, its seems you haven't been contributing much lately and you also haven't contributed much overall. If this continues, your userpage may be deleted.

As it states on my page itself, I am quite busy with college work and hardly have access to the game as it is(the campus Internet blocks it). I do contribute when I can, but right now all I can do is correct grammar mistakes. Without game access my normal contributions are unable to be done as most of what I did add related to in game aspects.
