Description

Known as the corrupted sage, his appearance is usually depicted as wearing a Robe. A powerful wizard, Jabchiel was a human who sided with the Fomors in the Second War of Mag Tuireadh.

Past

Past

He attempted to use magic to drop Ladeca onto Erinn, but was stopped by Mores. The moonstones that befell Erinn were later turned into the Moon Gates used for quick travel.

Memento

Before the second war, Jabchiel actively researched Magical Music at one point; in order to make progress, he needed the Music Box Enn possessed. When Enn would not cooperate with him, he forcibly looked for its location by looking through her brain; this led to Enn's death. Having learned that she had given the music box to the Spirit Enn, he sought her out and corrupted her. He realized his actions would not allow him to claim the Ancient Music Box prior to the Second Battle of Mag Tuireadh, and so left the Spirit Enn to waste away to the point where he could.

Ultimately, he perished during the war and he did not come into possession of the music box. His actions, however, allowed for the Spirit of Jabchiel to transform a part of Enn into the Song of Grief.

• The origin of Jabchiel's name appears to be Zaphkiel/Tzaphqiel, a Hebrew name "צפקיאל" (with no clear meaning besides that the "אל" means God) attributed to an angel found mostly in western esotericism and occultism.
  • The name Jabchiel may have been included in Mabinogi due to the fact it also appeared in Dungeons and Dragons.
• His name has been spelled as "Zavkiel" in Musicians of Erinn and The Origin of Moon Gates.
• Morgant claims Jabchiel sacrificed his life to preserve Mores's, though it is unclear if Morgant was telling the truth.
• The boss of Musical Math Dungeon is the part of him that was implanted into and corrupted Enn.
• The items Jabchiel's Music Score (3) Jabchiel's Music Score (5) and Jabchiel's Music Score (10) are named after him.
• The book Musicians of Erinn also mentions Jabchiel as one who tried to use Magical Music to control others.
• In The Book of Revenge, Vol. 3, Mores mentioned that the Fomorians had a deep trust for him.
