For the first time in a while, the Baltane Squires have gathered up for combat training. Join the squires and show them your leadership skills.

Description

  • The mission starts at the entrance of Avalon Gate. Speak to Shuan and optionally have him explain the mission.
    • Shuan strongly recommends sending all allied Squires to the Infirmary if the player's squires are weak.
      • It is actually always a strong idea to send all allied Squires to the Infirmary, regardless of their strength.
  • There are two main objectives, which must be completed in order:
    • First, successfully complete the training exercise.
    • Second, defend Avalon Gate from the unexpected intruders.
  • Allied squire stats will have an effect in this Baltane Mission. For more information, see Squire Mission Stats.
    • Enemy squire stats do not have an effect in this Baltane Mission.

The Training Exercise

  • The Training Exercise consists of a mock fight between three Baltane Squires that the player selects versus the other three Baltane Squires.
    • The goal of the exercise is to occupy the enemy strongholds while preventing your headquarters from being occupied itself.
  • There are three enemy locations and one ally location:
    • The Command Post, which is located at Avalon Gate's Round Table, is occupied by the enemy.
      • As long as the enemy controls the Command Post, the enemy will periodically spawn up to five enemy Baltane Squire units that will rush from the center of Avalon Gate to the Allied Headquarters.
        • The Command Post will never spawn more than five enemy offensive units. It will start with five and will only spawn as many are needed to replenish that number.
      • While the spawned enemy units occupy the Allied Headquarters, it will take damage.
        • Enemy units inside of the Allied Headquarters increases Damage Points by the number of enemies per second.
        • If the damage counter reaches 100%, the mission will fail.
        • The damage counter will slowly decrease by 1 every second, even if enemy units occupy the Allied Headquarters.
      • Occupying this location will prevent the enemy from being able to spawn units to take the Allied Headquarters, making it safe from everything except any units already spawned.
    • The Training Grounds, which is located at the training grounds where Dai normally stands, is occupied by the enemy.
      • As long as the enemy controls the Training Grounds, the enemy will periodically be replaced with a stronger variant of itself. This also heals the enemy.
      • The enemy starts at Level 1 and can upgrade all the way to Level 5, if allowed.
      • Occupying this location will prevent the enemy from being able to upgrade their abilities.
    • The Infirmary, which is located at Avalon Gate's Infirmary, is occupied by the enemy.
      • As long as the enemy controls the Infirmary, defeating the enemy will not permanently defeat them. Instead, they will respawn in waves.
      • Occupying this location will prevent the enemy from being able to respawn. Defeating all enemies at a location will instantly occupy it.
    • The Allied Headquarters, which is located at the Avalon Gate, is occupied by the player.
      • Unlike the enemy locations, this location is considered occupied by allied forces regardless if any allied forces actually remain located at it.
  • When speaking to Shuan at the start of the mission, the player will be asked to select three of their Baltane Squires to become allies.
    • Up to one allied Special Unit Squire can defend the Headquarters and any number of Special Unit Squires can be sent to capture one enemy location.
      • The player will have to manage defending/attacking any location they do not send one of their allied squires to.
    • The three squires not selected will then become the enemy. All squires, regardless of the allegiance, lead a color-coded band of Baltane Squires.
      • Allied forces consist of one Baltane Special Unit member and 8 allied squires each. Enemy forces consist of one Baltane Special Unit member and 5 enemy squires.
        • The enemy squires that attack the Allied Headquarters do not have a Special Unit member alongside them and are color-coded differently.
    • If all allied Baltane Special Unit members fall in battle, the mission will fail.
  • Occupation Points are earned in the following ways:
    • Defeating a regular Baltane Squire awards 1 Occupation Point.
    • Defeating a Baltane Special Unit Squire awards 3 Occupation Points.
    • The player inside of an enemy location increases Occupation Points by 1 per second(?).
    • Allied Special Units inside of an enemy location increases Occupation Points by the number of Special Units per second.
    • Defeating a wave of enemy units when the Infirmary is occupied instantly takes the location, essentially awarding 100 Occupation Points.
  • When all enemy strongholds have been taken, the first main objective is completed.

The Unexpected Intruders

  • After completing the Training Exercise, Shuan will initiate conversation. Suddenly, actual enemy forces arrive at Avalon Gate.
  • Players will have access to all surviving Baltane Special Unit Squires and half of the surviving regular Baltane Squires.
    • Players will have access to the pool of enemy squires as well, so long as they were alive at the end of the mock battle.
    • If all squires are defeated, the mission will fail.
  • ~28 Reanimated Corpses will appear in the center of Avalon Gate.
  • Upon defeating all of the Reanimated Corpses, Zebach (Scrimmage) will instantly spawn in the center of Avalon Gate alongside some Reanimated Corpses.
    • Defeating these Reanimated Corpses will endlessly spawn more Reanimated Corpses. It is suggested to focus Zebach entirely.
    • The Scrimmage variant of Zebach is significantly easier to kill than normal.
    • The Scrimmage variant of Zebach still possesses Halo of Torment and War Cry, making it extremely possible that Zebach will defeat ill-prepared players or their squires.
  • When Zebach is defeated, the second main objective is completed and a reward chest spawns in the center of Avalon Gate.
