About Boat Speed

"However, multiple people steering will make the Boat move slower, if at all."

Is this actually true? o_o --Revi 23:41, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

yes its true :o --Marthian 04:17, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Adding my own thoughts here, I think the statement means steering as in turning left/right, not actually having somebody at the oars. Basically, have somebody at each oar but don't do anything past that; you don't have to steer to avoid the waterfall so just manning the paddles is what gives the boat more speed.--Qaccy 04:47, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
It's true. I was rafting a little while ago, and our boat rapidly slowed down when two or more people began to steer simultaneously. --Aramet (Talk) 04:52, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Time Limit

You actually have to finish in less than 8 minutes. It's clear under Rewards, but not under Basic Info--~Shadoe 10:03, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Estimate of speed per rower?

Does anyone know how much speed the raft gets for each person on the oars? Because just having 8 people on the oar 60% of the time usually ends in 9 minutes or less... --Dra6o0n 03:44, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Having Party Members significantly increases your overall speed. It takes over 10 minutes to ride down the river without paddling, and arround 8 minutes with a full party. If all the members paddled constantly it may be possible to finish with a time of 7:30. --Zkin 13:01, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Waterfall

So you can't actually go off the waterfall with this event? That'll delay my G7..--Aussie♣

Actually, I have been told you can. Also, someone has updated the article to reflect this. -Drake3 20:05, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
You can go down the waterfall during the event. Just turn right when you reach the fork in the stream. Make sure the other party members know before you steer them off course!--Zkin 15:28, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Speed loss

Whenever your boat goes into a hostile zone where the hobgoblins starts to attack, your boat suddenly slows down. The speed of the boat then moves 50% of what it will go at the start and end of the event (100%), in the middle of the entire river, it doesn't seem like the speed regains itself...

With these kind of setups, I'm thinking that having 8 people rowing the boat brings the speed to a reasonable amount, but there also might be not effective because of boarding by hobgoblins... Also noting that dodging them could slow you down too, so it seems to be more reasonable to stay in the middle of the path...--Dra6o0n 21:09, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Rewards

As far as the rewards list goes is that it? Or are people getting different items and just not listing? (Sort of off-topic is it just me or do most the events in this game seem sexist against males?)--Tehtammar 22:48, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Now that you mention it, there are alot of female's cloths... -- Rıαи
Actually, it's common sense. Not to be sexist, but it seems as though it's likely, that female players like to be more.... social, and therefore, get more variety. Also, most events have equal amounts of equips, for both males and females. And even if you get female clothes, and you're male, if you sell them, it's fantastic money. :D -- Zinzzada
You're joking right more social either gender can be social or anti-social. Equal amount of equips? Most events give dresses and this event gives ONE male article which unless a certain age compared to how many dresses which cover all female age groups?--Tehtammar
What they are saying is that females are more likely to be social, statistically. And they're almost always giving away more female clothes, and besides, male players, in my experience, have had less need/want for multiple sets of clothes. Greenguy 02:25, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
I'll have to admit, in real life, I dont really know a bunch of guys who have closets stuffed to the brim with clothes. (This is coming from a tomboy, so I'm not being a hypocrite 8D.) But yea, it is kinda sad how there is only one male outfit. *shrug* I dont think we can really do anything about it though.--♫ѕταя♪ 15:38, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
I noticed that at most clothing shops, the female clothes outnumber the male ones. What if a guy wants to look cool N THE GAME? I don't think this is very fair...Korit
If this is going to continue, please take it to the forums. --Aramet (Talk) 02:28, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

Difficulty

Unless you can prove it, please don't post random assumptions (How do you know it's harder / it was used to 'prevent inflation'?)

My wife ran it and noticed an increased difficulty. This was noted as larger aggro ranges by archers (who also used magnum shot a LOT more), not to mention more Hob warriors leaping on to the boat at a time (compare 1 per group versus currently 3+ per group). It's not really a "random assumption."--Demaetri 01:39, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
I wouldn't really know but even my freinds say so. All of them so its gota mean something. - Random
I ran the event from just after it was added until just after the last patch and can tell you based on experience (about 60 runs) that it started out diffucult, was made easier, and is back at diffucult again.
It IS a lot harder. Before the patch, my teams were winning consistently with times easily in the 7:40's. Now I've lost three times in a row, making 8:02 at the best. I can also confirm what Demaetri said about more archers using magnum shot and more Hob warrior jumpers. -Fulvia 08:33, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
Just sounds like a placebo effect to me. Also, I recall that the monsters were stuck to the edges before, so the maintainence might have just freed them, it wouldn't make sense for them to modify content when they're doing a maintainence on three games at once. Bleedthrough 14:54, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
They may not need to modify content, they probably just need to turn something off or on like they do when double experience events start and end.--~Shadoe 04:53, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
