Trade Assistant Imp Quote Factors

As far as I know, the vehicle in use, cargo, and levels at trading posts change what the imp may say (i.e: "Wagon drift action!" when using a wagon, complimenting on reaching Taillteann level 5 etc.). Anyone else notice other variables?

Pelkin18:05, 17 November 2011

Skills ranks. When you have r1 Production Mastery he asks "Isn't it hard to raise your production rank?"

Pyro - (Talk)19:07, 17 November 2011

It should be less than that. I'm a Rank 5 and the Imp still asks me that.

Infodude57519:10, 17 November 2011

I have a noob with no production mastery as of yet (I...didn't quite do anything with him yet) and he still asks.

LexisMikaya07:33, 18 November 2011

Ah, then never mind that. (Unless someone else finds something else subjective.)

Pyro - (Talk)14:01, 18 November 2011

Why are we using a transclusion for the quotes? There'd better be a good explanation for this.

So people don't have to look at the edit of the page when somebody edits a quote.

Pyro - (Talk)17:06, 18 November 2011

Please explain to me how that is a good explanation.

Also, i also saw the quote "Your Tir Chonail Merchant Rating Level is 6. Have you purchased the Wild Ginseng Potion?". However, you can buy the Ginseng potion at level 5....so is the quote more like "Your Tir Chonail Merchant Rating Level is x.. Have you purchased the Wild Ginseng Potion?" where x is the current rating level, or does it always say level 6?

Pelkin17:34, 20 November 2011

Could be item based, too. I was carrying Tea Tables and he said "These Tea Tables are cracked! You should sells these to me" or something along the lines.

Infodude57500:04, 30 November 2011

He just comments/make suggestions on the merchant levels of a town and does occasionally remarks about the stuff your are carrying.

LexisMikaya10:54, 30 November 2011

I think it also has to do something about the Durability of your equipped items, too. He told me my helmet was about to break when my Stiff Tail Cap was at 3/11 Dura.

Infodude57513:08, 20 December 2011

I'm not sure about the items you're carrying idea, UNLESS TOPAZ is a Tea Table. Somebody should look into the coding of the client files to see what the algorithm is for this.

Magiobiwan21:55, 6 January 2012

He said that you were carrying Tea Tables while holding onto Topaz? o-o

But were you carrying Tea Tables earlier?

One of my friends who's wielding Fomor Gladiuses claimed to fail three times on one and five times on the other, using the Trade Assistant Imp. "98% my @$$."

I'm wondering if he was really unlucky or Nexon actually screwed up.

Infodude57509:37, 10 December 2011

Unlucky. Complete repairs imo tends to fail more than point by point :c

LexisMikaya13:00, 10 December 2011

Shall we have a debate now, due to the revisions?

Infodude57523:49, 8 November 2011

Well he travels along with you. I don't believe he's an NPC that actually sells stuff and etc. He always makes remarks about how bumpy the carts are and etc.

Aubog00723:52, 8 November 2011

Not to mention the G15 posters show an imp traveling with the players.

Aubog00723:53, 8 November 2011

How does that prove that they are different?

Pyro - (Talk)23:54, 8 November 2011

Explain to me how they are the same. Also NPC portraits are different for each town. Yet the imp has the same portrait when trading with you.

Aubog00723:56, 8 November 2011

Also the NPC is called Trade Mercantile Imp. Isn't it?

Aubog00723:58, 8 November 2011

Ah, you just reminded me of another thing. In another wiki talk page we decided to have one page for all of the Imps, Goblins, and Ogres in Trade Posts (not including the citizens of Belvast). He IS the Tir Chonaill Trade Post Imp. Even if he wasn't, he still belongs on this list. And you need to prove they're different, not demand proof that they're the same because until you find better counterargumental proof, Infodude's point still stands true.

Pyro - (Talk)23:59, 8 November 2011

Different portraits, Different names. Only thing that says he is what he is at the end conversation. But the prefix for his name is different.

Aubog00700:00, 9 November 2011

I'm going to check cobh. If it says Trade Assistant Imp as the NPC name. Ill back down. That's my resounding argument.

Aubog00700:01, 9 November 2011

Yea. My argument stands.

Aubog00700:02, 9 November 2011

As I said, he has the same portrait as Tir Chonaill's imp because he is him! And that's good enough proof as it is. (Also you can edit these posts, you know.)

Pyro - (Talk)00:02, 9 November 2011

Actually that's not really proof.
Both Carasek and Karis have the same NPC image and the same BGM, but have different lines.
By the way... there's also an Imp in the Erinn Martial Arts Tournament that also uses the same NPC Portrait as the Tir Chonaill's Imp and the Trade Assistant Imp.

Infodude57518:55, 9 November 2011

Dislike liquid threading immensely. Too much hassle to edit cause my browser doesnt load scripts properly. If you wanna edit it fine. But it's not the same "NPC"

Aubog00700:04, 9 November 2011

Proof! Proof!.png

Pyro - (Talk)00:09, 9 November 2011

And i just got a quote saying the trade assistant imp wishes to run his own shop one day.

NA Nexon? Good at translating? really. Now you tell me.

Aubog00700:10, 9 November 2011

Pyro - (Talk)00:12, 9 November 2011

Yes. I went and held ALT over the name. Not actually talked to them. /usingchromenow. Anyways ending a conversation and showing the name of the character was never a method to figure out if they are the same.

Which they are not.

Aubog00700:14, 9 November 2011

That is irrelevant, each Trade Post NPC has a different name. (Plus you don't need to hold alt to see NPC names.)

Pyro - (Talk)00:15, 9 November 2011

And? So the imp in tir decides to follow you everywhere and leave his shop running and yet spews out that he wants to run a shop someday in his dialogue.

Ok.

Then again last time i said Shadow spirit didn't reduce protection... Major revision war happened.

  • sigh*
Aubog00700:17, 9 November 2011

I have a feeling this page is going to be locked eventually.

It's fine. I'm done. Page should be split into two pages.

That's my opinion.

Aubog00700:24, 9 November 2011

...I'm pretty sure they are not the same (which was the original intention of this page btw)...I mean what kind of imp leaves shop and travels with you. I mean unless there's like a ton of imps (which is my guess) and one travels with you while the main imp at the trading post stays and he sends you a travel guide....but my head hurts after looking at the revisions @@;;

basically...there are multiple trade assistant imps, but this page when i created it, I had the assistant imp that travels with you in mind. ..not the ones at the trading post :x

LexisMikaya08:48, 9 November 2011

There's no evidence that they're the same, but there's also zero evidence that they are different.

Since this is the case, it's better to shove the data onto one page rather than making two separate pages.
