"Skipped" Content

"Skipped" Content

I'm still waiting for the "official" answer from you guys. If stuff that was added in other servers in Generations 16 and 17 are on the patches page, why not all the other "skipped content"? Didn't KR get their referral system during G13? Didn't the Bow of Chivlary come out in G5/Iria? Didn't the Turtle Shield come out in G3? What about the Mysterious Reforging tools? You can't make a special case for one outfit and a few items and call it "skipped content" and not include everything else on the "Upcoming Content" Page.

I was under the impression mysterious reforge tool was already there, I will add it. The referral system was during G14 or G15 I believe, but we are missing ErinnOn under G13, I will add them. Items/pets from events/gachapons/cash shop do not belong on the patches page so Turtle Shield (came out after Iria), Bow of Chivalry, etc do not belong here.

My top priority at the minute is organizing the "Upcoming Content" category, and Upcoming Content really does sound like a crappy euphemism that needs to be corrected.

Lack of information is never an excuse to remove information. If you have information you think is missing, please share it instead. Only ever remove information if it's wrong (if it was once right, then it deserves to stay and be noted it was changed).

How about that diamond leather armor? It's been released for like months now. Just not in the shop.

Meru (talk)14:35, 22 November 2013

It not being in the shop is skipped content. It being released or unreleased in events/gachapons/etc is not dealt with on the patches page. So it's not about it being out or not, its if its available from the original source in KR while in NA.

That seems pretty stupid really. We got a lot of items differently than how korea got them. Don't we get more items added to gacha only that they get from events and other ways? Would the saga rewards be considered skipped since its pretty much a different system?

Meru (talk)14:53, 22 November 2013

Very true, the Saga is skipped. Thanks for reminding me that.

Because we get events/cash shop/gachapon items so differently between different servers, and they are temporary, we do not include them in the patches page to avoid the confusion you are talking about. Instead, we focus on means within the game itself. What seems stupid about it?

That seems even worse. Should we also make a bonus content section? A changed content section? A section on things we got an update earlier? Do we have a list of all the special colored items we didn't get somewhere? Don't forget the commerce reforge. How about events we never got. We never got the anti fomor clothes except for new account players. Do all those titles we never got count as skipped? We might as well just list the entire unimplemented clothing section.

Meru (talk)15:22, 22 November 2013

A changed content section sounds like a good idea, actually. Bonus content, you'd have to define what you mean by bonus content. A section on things we got an update earlier, we already have a section for each update. Special colored items don't come from normal means so no. Commerce reforge is an event item. Events are events, we don't include temporary crap like events in the patches page. Patches are for patches. As I said a few hundred times, event/gachapon/cash shop are their own entity, they don't belong on patches. If you want to make a page specifically for them, be my guest. Just try to model it in some orderly way like the patches page. (Though earlier gens need to be reformed on Patches.)

The thing is you are prioritizing korean content instead of NA content, and this isn't a wiki about comparing korean content with NA content. It's about NA content. I'm pretty sure korea gets commerce reforge from commerce imps and not event only like we do because for the longest time the page listed it as obtained from commerce imp for 80k ducats. What exactly are normal means? We get a lot of clothes and items just from events that korea got elsewhere by normal means, and the game patches to a new version every event. How isn't that related to patches? Bonus content is content we have that korea/japan/china doesn't. Edit: I guess it was the reforge removal tool not the commerce one lol.

Meru (talk)15:40, 22 November 2013

Ya, commerce reforge tools were never in commerce shop but removal is, and removal is in NA too.

Future Content in the patches page can only be based on the Korean server (well, we can with Japan too but we tend to go through Korea rather than double translating). The unreleased content section is what was in those sections that we didn't get, what's wrong with that? There is almost never an excuse to remove information, it needs to go somewhere.

Normal means are items that can be purchasing ingame, obtained form a monster, mission, or dungeon, can be crafted, etc. Events, again, are temporary. We do log temporary character cards on the Character Cards page, but we have no central event page. However, the Wiki Home/WikiUpdates logs when events start/end and the event's own page includes the new items release.

I don't know anyone who has ever seen the removal tool, and I checked all the commerce shops in all channels for weeks looking for it myself, I would like some evidence for that personally. The information could very well be wrong because NA nexon could add those in any of those "skipped contents" any time they choose. You can hardly call it skipped if we don't know what nexon is going to do. They can change their minds. It's hardly a legit section, and the future content patches sections always has a lot of wrong info that ends up having a lot of other info based on it, and the users see that wrong info which ends up with all my friends telling me how the stuff I know that is actually correct is wrong. I know I can just change it, but I can't confirm it myself.
