As a quick reference, keep it here. I'ma wait until someone digs into the files because (honestly) I find it strange that nothing really competes with the Vales shield and well...Those numbers seem weird.

The numbers for the large shield at r1 definitely match up with what I've got.

Are there really no Giant-Only shields...?

Well all of these recent updates have been subtly buffing giants. Have you noticed that that, now, ignoring the existence of shield and armor masteries, giants have the highest defense and magic defense because of their strength and will, and only a negligible difference in endgame int which doesn't matter because magic protection eventually stops being a useful stat once you're endgame intelligence. Not to mention changes like, being able to use alchemy skills and shield mastery with lances in later updates.

You mean "Are there really no Large shields that are not Giant only?"

Elves/Humans are too tiny to have large shields :P

Does Eweca Shield benefit from mastery? If so, could you add it to the list of shields? I haven't found a way to determine shield type yet.

All shields do. problem is, who even has those things (Other than me of course, but just swing it around due to its size). I'll see what the stats are as I rank the mastery some more.

Should we check for all ineffective shields?

...I guess. I mean I only listed what was on the JP wiki and appearently those were considered Small Shields due to ineffectiveness.
