Category:Marionettes

Will this category be used? what will we even use it for? The marionette items aren't actually marionettes. They're just cosmetics applied to the skill...

How do they even work anyway?

Infodude575 (talk)23:58, 25 October 2012

Way to answer my question, but anyways.

You use Pierrot/Colossus Marionette to summon a marionette. Then you control it with Control Marionette. Taadaa.

Wouldn't this be considered the same as Arrows or Missiles?

Kiyoura (talk)00:01, 26 October 2012

You dont need to equip a marionette in order to use it.

It'd be useful to have a list of how/where to get each Marionette. Unless the category be placed as a subcategory of Category:Miscellaneous Items.

Kiyoura (talk)00:09, 26 October 2012

If you mean the skill, there are only 2. Both are received through either puppeteer tutorial or the quests received after equipping a control bar.

If you mean the items, no idea. assuming they're all cosmetics, i'd say the nx shop.

Why don't we just place it as a subcategory of Category:Miscellaneous Items.

Kiyoura (talk)00:15, 26 October 2012

Because we don't know how they work yet.

They're shields. Equip the puppet in the shield slot, the model changes, like it would for any other secondary weapon. Except these do not effect damage. I don't really understand what the confusion is. There are 10 marionettes in item form (2 that will likely not be released until a few months later), and will all probably be from the web shop/item shop.

IMO, they should have their own category, because they aren't true shields.

Infodude575 (talk)08:53, 26 October 2012

I think they should get their own Category. It's a new weapon. Not a Shield. Not a projectile. So yea.. Dunno how a arrow is classified as a missile but meh. I offer a renaming of that Category since Javelins are the closest things to a missile in game

GoN (talk)09:45, 26 October 2012

Actually, if we're going into specifics of it not being a shield or projectile, it's not a weapon either. It has no statistics and isn't required for anything. I suggest keeping their category and also categorizing them as ineffective shields.

I'll have to wait til I can actually log in if I want to argue for or against anything on this subject. I prefer to see how ti plays out on my own then stalk youtube

GoN (talk)10:03, 26 October 2012

This really isn't a question of how it plays out though. It's a question of what kind of item the marionettes from the cash shop/(gach?) are considered.
Fact:

  • They're equipped in the shield slot when a handle is equipped in the weapon slot.
  • They do not effect combat.
  • They are not mandatory.
  • They also have no defensive capabilities.
Pyro - (Talk)11:08, 26 October 2012

If that's how they work, then fuck it. Misc items. But when mentioning "marionettes" in articles, where do we link it, if at all? Linking it to the items make no sense since they're just cosmetics of the actual marionettes.

They do add 1 def and 1 prot. to the marionette , and as far as cosmetics go using a marionette is the only way of getting the 4th form of the doll, and allow you to dye the colors of the marionette. The reason I say the doll adds def and prot to the marionette is because I let bears kill my colossus 5 times with the doll and without it, they did about 10 more dmg without the doll

Marionettes also can have 'reforge' sort of effects, but can't be reforged basically.

I got one from finishing the RP quest line and it grants the marionette of that kind a defense and protection level 1. Now I dunno if it applies only to the marionette model or if it applies to all marionettes you summon. Looks like only 'specific' kinds of marionette items grants these bonuses. So gachapon ones might offer bonuses or not.

Dra6o0n (talk)17:19, 26 October 2012

It looks like they arent only Cosmetic. BUt they do have costumes that attach to the Marrionette or something. The Marrionette from the RP gives 1 Def and 1 Prot but I'm not sure if it's only to the user or to the Marionette as well as I can see my def and prot go up but I cant check the Marionette as far as I know.

GoN (talk)08:38, 27 October 2012

The Prototype Mini definitely affects the user.

Infodude575 (talk)08:50, 27 October 2012

The Prototype Mini says it's "a miniature Colossus Marionette that Huw made for you", so technically it is a Marionette. Technically. Though, it could also be labeled as a Miniature.

Dreigard (talk)11:14, 29 October 2012

It's a marionette mini...so it counts o-o;;

S•A•R•I•A (talk)11:27, 29 October 2012

While it does, it's a bit vague. Nexon could've at least shed some light on it. The cash shop sells "Miniature Dye Ampoule", that and I guess it's a bit obvious people would call it a mini, lol.

Dreigard (talk)22:20, 29 October 2012

From what I recall, it changes the appearance of the marionette and...I think it does add addtional stats, but I can't confirm this right now. o-o maybe when main is over I can check again x.x I have rank 1 Pierrot, nearing master rank. 600 strong kills to go before maint. hit the servers D:

S•A•R•I•A (talk)11:23, 29 October 2012

Agreed.

GoN (talk)11:25, 29 October 2012

Well it's added to the player all right...but marionette can't be confirmed since...I don't know how to see the stats :c

S•A•R•I•A (talk)12:19, 29 October 2012

Added to the player, then transferred to the marionette?

Dra6o0n (talk)16:27, 29 October 2012

In what way would the defense/protection be transferred to the marionette?

70% of Defense and Protection you have is added to your marionette.

Pyro - (Talk)16:40, 29 October 2012

Are you sure about that? You might want to read the skill again.
