Template:StyleWearable

Template:StyleWearable

I've created Template:StyleWearable for general use for wearable items (headgear, clothing/armor, shoes, gloves, shields, accessories, and robes) based on the overall design of Template:StyleWeapon (formally Template:Weaponbox). So far, I've only converted the Thames Plate Set (Armor, Boots, Gauntlet, Helmet) to use the template for evaluations and comments.

I think it's a good idea, but if we do go with this, we should probably remove the inventory icon next to the previews for clothing items.

One thing at a time. One of the other ideas I was debating was whether to include dye details into the template in a hidden box. The only caveat is how many people reference the dye details. If it's in the template, it will be in a hidden/drop down box. But if there are a significant number of people referencing the table, it may be better to keep it a separate table.

I like that the design is based on the weapon template, but I don't like how the Thames Plate Gauntlet's icon is presented. Icons for gloves especially tend to be wider, and in the example you gave here I feel that the black doesn't proportion with the gauntlet icon well.

I dunno how to actually deal with that, though. The only thing I could think up of right now is putting the combination effects details in a separate box - maybe hidden, maybe relocated - so that it won't bloat the "Other Information" box, but that's not necessary for all clothing, and that wouldn't look as close to the weapon template...

One possible way to deal with this would be to put a min-height on the field. However, I know older versions of IE, I'm not sure about IE 7 or 8, ignore min-height completely. But if "Other Information" field does get moved out of the top half, something is going to have to replace it. Otherwise, those top three cells are going to stretch in an ugly way similar to what is happening in Elsinore Ghost. :S

Or IE9, I assume...

Do an example with something like Hairband that comes from lots of locations so we can see how cluttered the "obtained from" might become (rhis is an unresolved minor problem I've had with the weapon template too)

Done. I'm not exactly sure the best way to handle multiple monster drops that have the same enchantments. I'm assuming that this was part of the minor problem you have with the weapon template.

Could you get it to autocategorize equipment into Category:Headgear, Category:Light Headgear, etc? It's not vital but would be nifty.

As for dye details, I think it's fine out of the table. I'd rather not see a hidden text field in the table.

Other than that, it looks good, and everyone I asked about it likes it too.

Autocategorize won't be a problem. But it may be a day or two before I get to it.

Do you think gender restrictions could be put next to the race information without looking bad?

I have a couple of other things on my plate right now. Mainly dealing with a recertification I need to complete by the end of the week. I don't think adding a new set of cells to top row will look that good, but perhaps adding to the already existing "Available Races:" line in some fashion may work best.
