Too much?mini

I replaced the static png image of the idle pose on Bell Fox Outfit (M) with a short, small animated gif. Despite the image dimensions, the file is still quite large for something like so (2.38 mb, and that's after I reduced the dimensions to 70%). Would you guys like to revert back to the png, or should I continue uploading similar gifs for pages with animated idle poses? I'll try to keep the file sizes as small as possible, while still keeping the dimensions a reasonable size. Although I think gifs would be a better idea for animated equipment, the problem is the file size. This might be bothersome for those with a slower internet. :l

So, what are your opinions on this?

If we don't use the animated gifs, then, instead, we can add a pose box in the ClothingPreview template (probably in a tabbed environment). Although, I personally prefer the animated gifs because they can show the entire animations, rather than just a frame of it.

I was gonna say Animated PNGs...but still kinda being experimented with and such...so not gonna go there. And a pose box I suggested some time back....but I'm fine with an animated gif...I'm not too good with animated gifs and some will be quite large in the number of frames/size of images...I'm all up for anything.

Animated PNGs would probably be better, although that would take the form of .apng, and I don't think the wiki supports that(?). And considering animated pngs would be lossless(?), that'd probably come in a much larger size. Also considering this, .apngs are probably not the way to go yet. :c

And I have no idea how to do animated pngs as a .png. So yeah. :c

Here's a few on this site.

as far as the pose box...I put a thread sometime back in the actual template for clothing preview's discussion page I think...

I thought apng weren't supported on many browsers, but my info could be out of date (my 'net's too slow atm to check)

It seems to only be supported by 2 major browsers, Firefox and Opera. :l

Most require plug-ins/not supported at all...I only brought it up because it's kinda the best way to retain quality while making animations.
