xml code

Anyone have xml code everywhere with the recent patch? :\ If so, does anyone know how to fix this?

It appears that if you tried to patch before they fixed it and left it on, you'd get XML everywhere :c

huh..?

I have this problem, where all my talent-related stuff and then some says "xml.text.##"... Been trying to find a fix besides redownloading. :(

--Aramet (Talk)09:28, 27 October 2012

Oh, you guys want a fix to that? Let me help you out. :D

Yeah I need help with that as well....and I didn't want to completely redownload the game.

So.

Download this : mabiwiki.x10.mx/language125.pack

And put it in your package folder, but do not rename it!

Set it to read-only (rightclick -> properties -> read only)

This should fix the xml.talenttitle issue.

Note: There is one side effect to this; Items that have been translated from 125 to 126 will be untranslated again. It's a small handfull of items that were translated, though. Imo, worth the sacrifice.

If someone could test this and report the results before I add this fix to the sitenotice, that'd be nice. Thanks in advance. :D

When I put it in the package folder and start up Mabinogi, it won't let me press game start. Then when I look at the folder, language125.pack is gone and relaunching the game allows me play it, but I still have the issue. D:

Strange, it didn't disappear the first time I attempted to run Mabinogi.exe, but now it did.

It works with launcher skipper, though. Hmm....

If you set the file to read-only, it works.

Couldn't you just delete the language.pack and run the launcher?

Deleting language will redownload it. But that's not the issue.

That's what I was wondering.

How exactly am I supposed to download a file off of text?

You didn't link it, though... Which confuses newbies who don't know to paste it into the address bar.

Nice easy fix. All the titles show up properly now. Ty Kevin/Xcelled :P

The thing that worked for me was this:

Shove https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4234581/124_to_126.pack into the Mabinogi package folder. Rename 126_full.pack as 126.pack.

There was no need to change permissions. However, I'm not sure what side effects there are if any. I believe the items translated between 125 and 126 will still be translated, though, but I'm not sure what those items are. I did see some new gachapon stuff and they showed up properly.

EDIT: Scratch that, someone's gacha Pierrot while summoned was untranslated.

Blargel (talk)04:54, 28 October 2012
  1. It's essentially the same fix.
  2. Gacha marionettes are still untranslated, even without the fix.

my gosh thanks a bunch

FirstTsurugi (talk)16:24, 29 October 2012

Works like a charm.

Dreigard (talk)22:23, 29 October 2012

Not a fix but... apparently the files were out there but only some people are getting it. I have the xml issu while my wife doesnt. wierd..

GoN (talk)10:07, 1 November 2012

Because she either

  1. Reinstalled the entire game
  2. Downloaded patches 120 to 124 to 126 without 124 full.

I'll check. But a clean install does not fix the xml bug.

GoN (talk)12:28, 1 November 2012

It should, unless you reinstalled before they fixed the 120 to 124 patch.

I haven't really had time to look into the cause of this, but couldn't we just tell people to delete any packages after 120, and then give them a 120 version.dat and just let them repatch?

Your friendly Server Status Script admin, Xcelled19412:42, 1 November 2012

Yes. But that's another 200 mb+ you'd have to redownload.

Has v126 -> 128 done anything?

Infodude575 (talk)16:38, 1 November 2012

Fixes Emain Macha map and talent titles and a few other things, as far as I can tell.
