Um, they don't have an aiming meter unlike Bows/Xbows. So what does Attack Speed have on Atlatls?
It does have a meter, it's just preset and invisible. When a target walks, it goes down and even further if running. Attack Speed will allow it to regain the lost accuracy when the target goes from Run to walk or Run to stop.
Shouldn't this be on its own page or something rather than just vaguely directing to Attack Speed Boost?
Percent increase over drastic increase in attack speed. Like Normal to Fast seems far of a stretch...
well I do and I'm going into provo later to test my theory on barrier spikes. anything I should note?
I was going to contest the "without reducing stun time" part, but you can't really do that without certain stuffs. :c
Well, normally, stun times depend on attack speed + number of hits. I don't see why it wouldn't change if your attack speed is changed, though I guess the 'buff' version could work differently.
Attack Speed only affects Normal Attacks/Ranged Attacks right? I'm always under the impression that it affects skill animation speed, too...
...I'm uploading a video now, beacuse explaining it would be a hassle.
Anyways I'll list my findings.
- Tested with 1 slow weapon and 2 very slow lances
- Slow weapon is a broad stick
- Very slow lances are Wooden adn Knight Lance.
- Knight Lancer has speed bonus.
- Tested both without attack bonus.
- changed to slow weapon and activated attack speed.
- There is a desync in attacks, with the knight lance attacking FASTER than the slow weapon.
- Had to resort to a way to reduce/minimize lag...am I proud of it? yeah...for this case anyways.
- See video for a more "visual" example.
Video is better for this...
It's live. More findings.
- This buff will Stack with Vivace.
- Using Daggers/Bear Knuckles/Anything Fast or Very Fast will work and make it go beyond the speed it should normally it.
- This means Dowra SEs can cause a stun lock, even without using Way of the Gun.
- Of course, this is in a lag free environment, and everyone lags so yeah...
Oh? I was under the impression that Chiense Dragon set only affects Normal speed, and increases it to Fast.
I heard faster weapons becomes unaltered.
When did this change?
According to the in-game description:
"Increases the speed of melee weapons with less than av erage speeds and improves the aiming speed of long range weapons."
I think it was always like this and people just assumed without throughly testing. I never owed a set until around May 2013, but even then I didn't use it much.
I should also mention that using Fast/Very Fast does make it go faster, but it is quite hard to tell since there's some latency involved, especially with Dowras. The speed boost is there and comparing footage with normal attacks by manually clicking, you are firing much faster. However with the lag from text rendering and stuff, it's hard to tell and some people have hiccups, leading to a small pause between attacks. Same can be said for dual wielding daggers/beholders/nobles/dirks and knuckles, only with less latency and more of a faster animation by slightly since you move so fast in between attacks to begin with.
This might be me, but I don't see how 11%~ bonus from Vivace is the "most efficient" method of boosting attack speed. And I heard from a lot of forumers that its crap.
Then again, I don't have it at Rank 1...
I have the following equipped: Grandmaster Bard (+5%) + Vivace Master title (+10%) + Yvona prefix title (+8%) + Moderato (+2%) upgraded with max buff Gloomy Sunday (+16%) and Level 20 Playing Instrument Effect Reforge (+20%)
- Normal Play: 19%
- Marvelous Play: 22%
- Inspiring Play: 26%
There is a pretty big difference in attack speed with these in effect.
As short and inconsistent the buff can get, it's the best way without having to go out and farm enchants or blow off funds on equips.
I don't see how 11% matches up to 200% though, that's a 189% difference, no?
Well the thing is, the faster weapon, the harder it is to tell. The slower the weapon, the easier it is to tell. Using guns, there's a clear cut difference. Melee...not so much. Attack SPeed seems to be geared towards guns considering their attack speed is different from most ordinary weapons.
