Talk:Wiki Home/Server Status/Template

From Mabinogi World Wiki

If you want to discuss the layout: Go here -Will be changed various ways, and it wont bother people with a ton of wiki changes on the main page.

Changing it back

I have changed it back to how Kevin had it before the unjust discussion to revert it back took place, and fixed a problem users had with it. (Which was a false problem), there is one other problem, which can be discussed. Also: When discussing about this wiki template it should have been done in the discussion board. Not in his talk page. --Feildmaster

Revert

Why was this reverted to the uglier version? --- Angevon (Talk) 15:43, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Because it looks nicer. I fixed a problem you lot had with it, and I still don't see why you don't like it.--Feildmaster
Wait a second, I thought that Kevin changed this back to his version. There has been plenty of discussion on this section and the earlier version was chosen. If this was changed by another user, I vote to change it back immediately. -- Jspillers | Talk 19:42, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Also, Felidmaster, as this revision to the section may have been your work, the content is not. This version is Ikkisuki's work, and can be verified Here. Please give credit where it is due. "Looking nicer" is a matter of opinion and this has been discussed thoroughly. -- Jspillers | Talk 19:45, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Stop commenting so fast, you erased two of my additions.... -_-

ONE: The unjust reason to revert it back, yes it was his, but i fixed up a problem. He questioned me about it, I told him. I support his new problem layout (Sorry, posted this in a rush). Anyway, back to the unjustness: You don't change it back because it "doubles an image" (which was a false accusation), you fix it so the image does not go down when you show the servers.

TWO:If you want to complain about the size... Then that can easily be fixed as well. His new look deserves to stay, and just because some people who don't know how to code don't like how something works... They should say to "update it" not "Revert it back immediately" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Feildmaster (talkcontribs) . Okay, first off, this is not a venue to argue. Discussions are tolerated, while attacks are not. Calm down. This is not a battle to have someone's work on the front page. You are not the author of this work, the revision was made based off of your opinion on what is "just" and "unjust". We will allow Angevon to make the decision on what stays and what does not. I will not argue with you here. If you have an issue with me personally, take it to the site, not the wiki (although you have no reason to hate this way). -- Jspillers | Talk 19:53, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
I dont have a problem... You just kept erasing what i was writing and i was pissed. --Feildmaster
NOW to re-clarify: You were erasing my text when you replied and i put "save"... And it took away anything that was said previously.
This is the last time I'll reply here until we hear from an admin, but all of this talk of "unjust discussion" is beginning to rub me the wrong way. There is no such thing as an "unjust discussion", and Kevin's talk page was the venue that I chose to discuss his work with him, clearly within the wiki guidelines. Please, leave the attitude at the door. This is not a popularity contest, and creating hostility within this site is a very good way to have your rights revoked. Keep that in mind before you decide to continue on this discussion. -- Jspillers | Talk 20:22, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Now for my final attempt of clearing my "anger". I did act rudely. I should have taken the time to re-submit the text that was placed. (And I am sorry if I hurt you or offended you in any way)

Now I know, that it could have been confused by what I said, but I never stated that I made it. I simply said I fixed a problem that was (Once again I say) Entirely confused with something else.

If we take a look at this image again... File:Jspillers newhome expanded.jpg

It was stated that the online image "doubled". That is false. The "double" was the image that was supposed to stay at the top for the server in general. Notice how Alexina, Mari, Ruari do not have the "online" image next to them. The "double" is the image centering when you expand show.

The comment of Width:Can easily be fixed.

To make it look ROUNDED: view it in Firefox or Safari(not checked). (Not sure why Google Chrome or Opera doesn't make it look rounded) Like in this file File:StatusThingyExample.png

One thing I completely forgot. It was mentioned that the width of the entire server list was too small. If that is a problem, it can easily be widened. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Feildmaster (talkcontribs) . Please always sign your comments with the Signature.png button or by typing ~~~~!
Please don't assume that I meant "Revert immediately" in my original comment. I was simply asking why. The width of Kevin's table is not the issue. My issue with it is that it's now one block. I liked how Jspiller's version of the table was separated visually into different "blocks" for each server. --- Angevon (Talk) 22:32, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
The reason the table does not get rounded on IE / Chrome is because "-moz-border-radius" is specific for Firefox and Safari. --κєνıи тαıĸ«) 22:43, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
I know that, i'm just wondering why they haven't integrated it into those 2 projects yet. ;) And thank you for signing, I forget to do that some times... --Feildmaster.
At Angevon- I will make a new template under my name where we can discuss the looks... Please feel free to share thoughts. (I'm bored, and I want to keep this look. ;) So I don't mind working on it.)--Feildmaster.

So why doesn't this have the white spaces in between the servers anymore? That made it a lot easier to see; having everything blue just sort of smashes it together. --Jαy 23:42, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. --ZRoc (Talk) 07:26, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
I posted this comment on κєνıи's talk page but hadn't realised he wasn't working on this anymore, so I'm adding it here. Whichever design is going to be used, would it look better to have the Current Game Status, server and website headings aligned to the left as in this example, rather than centered? It makes the list of channels look a little better when they're displayed and aligning the headings is no longer a problem. --ZRoc (Talk) 09:25, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Abandon Ship!

I am abandoning this project. Do not contact me about this template or the server status. Pretty sure you guys can decide on a design on your own. Good luck and remember, don't f*ck up! Just kidding. Just... no edit wars. --κєνıи тαıĸ«) 22:44, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Can I get an unlock for this page for a little bit? Need to add Alexina Ch 6/7... lol. They've been neglected long enough.

Is there any way to isolate the server status window so that its the only thing on the page?

Dktvu (talk)12:06, 5 September 2013

Before I answer, I'd like to ask "why?".

Back before the status window went down for several weeks, I somehow managed to get a webpage with just the GUI in it. I found a desktop webpage viewer so I had the server status on my desktop which I rather enjoyed and would be thrilled to have it back.
