Discussion between two pictures.

Right, so, since no one's discussed this, I'll put my opinion in first.

On the reversion war of RA poses 1 and RA poses 2;

The first point of my opinion is that it's not a freaking contest with quality here. If anyone actually bothered to go to the Royal Alchemist page and read the captions, it would have said: "The Elf and Human poses for Male and Female Royal Alchemists when a cylinder equipped". The point of this picture is not to get the quality of the set as high as it can go, but to just give an example of the poses that Royal Alchemists have.

In which case, there was precisely zero reason for picture #1 to replace picture #2.

Then there were the intentions behind putting the pictures here in the first place. If I remember right, one of the reasons were "Because I can", which is about as childish a reason as it can get and needs a remind of "This wiki is not a place to show off one's character". He also gave the reasons of better graphics, which was more valid, but in my opinion this did not have better graphics. As well, this user also gave a reason along the lines of "Having a picture of different ages", which may be a good reason, but again, in the first place this was an exhibit of the pose, and thus the age is irrelevant.

The first half of this is not encouraging characteristics for a potential wiki editor to have.

Even if it's a question of quality, I'd say pic #2 is superior. #2 may be narrower, and the outfits are on younger avatars, but I think it's more important that #2 appears to be slightly sharper and brighter than #1. And in my opinion, the smaller bodies don't change the outfit in a detrimental manner.

So I think the image should revert back to picture #2. I think most of the reversion history will be deleted anyways, so the picture can probably be reverted back without reuploading and wasting more space.

Anyone else have opinion to share?

I would stick with the first image. Neither image is "better quality" than the other. And based on the comments given when the second image was uploaded ("because i am ghost and this is better casue[sic] we are taller and i have a crown"), it in my view is nothing more than a vanity replacement.

I agree, stick with the original picture. This is obviously not an issue of someone trying to contribute in a helpful way to the wiki. It seems like more of an issue of wanting their picture up instead. The quality isn't good enough to justify a replacement as there was nothing wrong at all with the original.

Adding my 2 cents:

The first one maybe superior (in size...), but like Angevon said, it was a jpeg saved as a png and it had that...Filter I forget what it's called...I normally don't like that filter as it makes everything look grey and what not. Age wouldn't be a good reason. even though more details are shown as you get older, it's hard to get a good picture. Also I think in one of the comments of the picture, the guy said his was better with a crown or something...? but yeah, I vote to remove that one by Ghostlydan. He blatantly (from my view) replaced it for publicity.

The second one was much better and appeased the wiki standards much more...better quality, nice lighting, the works.

Although I would agree the 1st pic does look a bit better (older character-wise), the person who kept replacing the old pic is just an ass...Honestly, that's just sad and I think he should be IP banned for that constant spam. Somebody needs to delete that picture so he can't revert it back as well.

The 2nd pic is perfectly fine and there's no real reason to replace it.

Ghostlydan's version is a jpg saved as a png. Also, we prefer pictures that have no special upgraded weapons showing.

Bans will begin if the reversions continue.

Wow a lot happened overnight. I think I would like to state something to make this a bit more understandable to everyone. The person "Ghostlydan" and "TacoFox" are two people I do know in my server, and they may have been doing it to attack me. So I would just like to say I'm sorry if it truly was to attack me it would partly be my fault for even being the one who was attacked. Although they attacked me, they attacked pretty much everyone else and I would never want that to happen. But as far as all of this goes I really appreciate the help in this matter (thanks to the users on wiki in shorter words). I really hate drama. A big thank you for my sister for trying to stop this overnight, too. If you don't know her it's Foxy. But once again thank you to all of you.

Oh yes. It wasn't out of line...it was perfectly in-line.

I don't care what anybody says, the picture should've been deleted (and is now) and the person IS an ass. Did you read their replies? They were obviously doing it just to get on somebody's nerves. I don't know what you're trying to get at, but you should stop.

I think it's more that Infodude's trying to bold the second sentence. The whole quote is pre-bolded, so trying to put a bold marker actually unbolds the emphasized point instead...

And, though vandals need to be kicked out, it wouldn't hurt to politely kick them out.

Angevon ended up having the quote template bolded after shrinking it so it would be noticeable. Adding the bold markers ended up "unbolding" it.

We can't really confirm whether that was truly their intention or not, but just because "they're an ass" doesn't mean they should have a severe punishment. Then again, I'm merciful.

Regardless, this is all solved...

Seems that this "Ghostly" person is begging to be banned since they are continuing the edit war under a different account. Perhaps a change to the security settings to limit uploads to autoconfirmed editors is in order.

Anyway, could the admin (Angevon) please delete all those revisions? It's piling up this page...

Enough is enough. This file is protected until further notice. If you have a new version you'd like to see up here instead, upload it under another filename and link to it here. Then, if it's better than the current picture, I'll unprotect it and allow a new upload.

The key phrase is: "if it's better than the current picture"

This means: an in-game picture, initially saved as a png (general guide or Mikaya's guide w/ pictures to make a perfect png file), no special upgraded weapons, no other distracting equipment (e.g. headgear)... and everything else included on the image policy. If we're going to get a replacement, it may as well be perfect.

Eh, of course, the people who wanted it replaced will have to wait 2 weeks to do this because of their temp ban.
