Table

I believe this page needs tables for the individual sections. For example, the Taming Animals journal could have a table with the icon, journal name, and animals that can be tamed for that acheviment. Cooking could have the icon, food name, and where the food could be purchased (or the recipe?). Fishing could have the icon, fish name, and locations where it is fished. Thoughts? I am willing to do the tables myself.

Taming should also have the monster description. Cooking and Fishing descriptions aren't as important since they are the same as the item's description, but I agree.

I realize that a huge table like the one I would need to make would probably be very lengthy, so perhaps we could even devide the Collection Journals into seperate pages, and just keep this page with the main info for all of them on it.

Actually, how about making it all one page, but putting hide/show button on each of the three journal tables and making hide default?

Pyro - (Talk)02:48, 25 July 2011

Even so, they would still be huge. Like the spirit feeding pages before they were cleaned up.

I'm just waiting for the go-ahead of a higher-up before I do it.

In my opinion, separate pages and no hidden text.

We could do it like spirit feeding pages, since Hershey mentioned it and the idea popped in my mind.

I'm not all too sure how to do it like the spirit pages, and since I don't want to screw everything up.. I'll start on the charts like Angevon said.

Hershey68701:32, 26 July 2011

I could've done the charts... Why're we starting creation before a consensus has been reached? e-e

Sorry. I have the Fishing one pretty much done its here. The Taming one is halfway done, and yes I'm aware of all the broken links. It's here.

I think it would be much easier to right a short list of each monsters that do apply rather than saying "includes this, does not include this."

Pyro - (Talk)11:50, 26 July 2011

I had started out doing like..

Raccoon Young Raccoon Young Gray Raccon

Then I realized how huge that would be. So I figured I would try and specify a group of monsters that the entry applied too, and people can see their individual monster pages for more information. I'll put a note at the top of the chart before the page is finished.

Hershey68718:54, 26 July 2011

But your way, people will still ask "Does this count? What about this?" Honestly, it's worth the extra effort. May I have permission to work on this?

Pyro - (Talk)20:00, 26 July 2011

The table will have 103 entries when finished. If you attempted to list every single monster for each entry, that would be a gigantic mess. I believe breaking it down into monster 'families' (ie: the way they're already divided onto monster pages) is the best way to keep things small and still understandable. I can put a note if theres something to specific to clarify about a monster, and I'm sure more will be added to the table later.

You did not address what I just said... I told you, there should be some open-close, hide-show part of the box. Room should not be an issue...

Pyro - (Talk)20:25, 26 July 2011

Could you give me a small example of what you're talking about? On your user page or something.

Actually, I just came up with something better.

Animal What Applies Description Notes
Raccoon Taming Icon.png
Animal Name
  • Animal 1
  • Animal 3
  • Animal 2
  • Animal 4
  • Description go here.

    • Notes go here.

Bolded words indicates names. We merge the name and icon slots. The Name should be the general name and should lead to the page on that type of enemy. Then we add a new slot labeled "What Applies" or "Applies Too". Here we list each of the animals and list them on the right and left side, side by side. In that example specifically it may appear to be given too much room, but a majority of the monster's have long names. Description remains unchanged excluding width. And the notes section should be used for other things such as "Mimics must be woken before they can be tamed."

    Widths:
    Animal: 50
    What Applies: 225
    Description: 200
    Notes: 150

If you have any productive criticism or suggestions, please let me know.

I do like that actually. It was hard for me to picture what you ment before. By 'listing each of the animals' do you mean specifically like..

    • Young Brown Fox
    • Brown Fox
    • Young Red Fox
    • Red Fox
    • Etc Etc

    Or just..

    • Fox

After working on the page for an hour and having it almost intirely refortmated.. My browser decided to crash. I'm extremely frustrated now.

You can work on the page if you'd like Pyro, help is appreciated. Also, I'm not intirely certain how to divide the 'Applies Too' section into left and right, so I could use help with that.

Since it's nearly 6 in the morning here, I think I'll go to bed now, haha.

    Hershey68701:34, 27 July 2011

Okay, I know how frustrating those kind of things can be. I meant specific monsters for the Applies Too, and linked too. As for how to move it left and right, just look at the coding after I update it. For monsters that need testing, I'll put (?) next to the name.
