Easiest way to confirm would probably be to use the skill with a Caladbolg.
Because the easiest way would be to obtain a weapon that costs 6x+ more and does not have the same effect.
Why not test with a poison weapon instead? It's a lot easier to get.
Can't really tell if poison is applied twice.
