Facial Expression NPC Images

Are we really uploading npc images with expressions now, too?

I uploaded it for my personal use...for my story recap page, but I have no idea what everyone else is doing it for..

I don't see why not...

Go through every NPC and upload the missing ones then. Have fun.

Didn't most npc pages have that a few years ago?

I don't see any harm in adding more images if the reader's bandwidth is already being wasted on ads anyway.

But like Kevin said, if some have it, they should all have it.

I don't recall any pages having expression images before.

To my recollection, we never did. Just alternatives portraits. That honor goes to Tarlach, as he was the only one at the time with an alternative portrait, along with Morgant with his hel-- [spoiler].

mostly just blinking, mouth movement...nothing too large. Eirawen (I believe) is the first Very few NPCs to have expressions.

I believe Tarlach and Ruairi (in both G1 and 3) are the first. Esras has some too.

Personally, I vote against uploading any facial expressions unless you have a very good reason and have it validated by other users on a talk page first, though I cannot think of any valid reason at the minute, just keeping my mind open.

We weren't questioning if they CAN be animated, but more that whether it should be uploaded or not. Every NPC has at least enough animations to appear to be blinking, and some have multiple eye and mouth types giving dozens of facial combinations possible.

^Well that sums it up for me.

Please don't overload wiki pages with a bunch of animated gifs. I'm sure we have the capacity to do so but it will ultimately be useless and distracting to actual content. I don't have much of an opinion on static images, but I also don't see how they add information.

I don't really care much about the blinking, since everyone does that.
