This is a discussion regarding the time span of the game's story as well as how character ages are linked to said time span.
This may also include the discussion of Character ages for various purposes, most of which may go underutilized, or not used at all.
Considering that he is a human and a Tuatha de Danaan. Ruairi was around 18 during the G1 sequence yes? He's now older in G2~G8, in which he leaves. He is seen again, as age 28. This gives me the impression that he's around 30 now, and the whole damned storyline takes place in a measly 10 years.
Does anyone know what is his age in Post G3 with DK RP? I have no access to the quest chain due to completing it all until now.
Hm, where'd you get that he's 18? The G1 RPs?
I'm just making sure! Right now our only best bet is a YouTube video that looks up Ruairi's age.
Ruairi is just a reoccurring character and since he is RP'd in 3 instances, it's likely that you can pin point a time span o-o;; Of course all of this is just speculation and considering how Milletians sense time is even weirder to pinpoint the time span for them :/
I think they screwed up the time sense, that is, they're referring it to real-life years. Milletians age every week which is a "year" to them, but Cichol says that Shakespeare lived on Erinn for 8 years (which is when the game started if I'm not mistaken) and the "leader" Milletian has been around for 7.
I'm guessing Ruairi by the time of G3 would be at least 21, since Saga happened 7 "years" later. If they mark him as 18, then its no doubt a continuity error.
Well we'll see when I confirm Ruairi's age. It turns out my character, Saria, is still in G3, and I'm pretty much carrying myself through it (lol 2 computers ftw)
Oh, while you're on the Dark Knight Quest, be a dear and record the information into the quest template would you?
x.x Well I already completed the first quest...dammit. This might be a good time to try my new template out o-o
Its perfectly OK if you can't get the accuracy, I'm not going to hellhound you for it. We all forget at some point in our lives.
So yeah, I get a quest within a quest kinda like How G12 is with the whole fragments of Falias. are you okay with the tab thing?
I don't care.
Woman, you should be typing the later quests word for word, because Pyrus wants accuracy.
You know, Cichol said Shakespeare lived in Erinn for 8 years. I believe that "7th Year Milletian" refers to real-life years as well.
That would mean the milletian would have been from the influx of Milletian's after...when did they start overflowing the world?
Probably after Shakespeare arrived? 7th Year obviously indicates that they're around one year behind him.
Also I don't think Ruairi was honing revenge for that long. Remember, Ruairi clearly shows up after the incident in G16, as they talk about Lugh's life being ruined. All he wanted was to find Triona, nothing more, and didn't even want to help Tarlach bring "paradise" to Erinn, but I'm guessing Tarlach convinced him to hate Milletians because Shakespeare his chances of finding Triona.
Mikaya, did you do the RP BEFORE attempting to get rid of the Armor? That's your problem right there.
While we're on the subject of age...
If you haven't already, look up Tarlach's age in both his RPs in Episode 8?
Well damn. I think that Black Mask part is still his adult self, since he did decide to leave personally while as an adult, you know the point where he tried to convince Ruairi to help him but he found Triona's grave?
The Past: Breaking the Seals is probably Tarlach from The Past: Convincing Ruairi.
I guess I can't wiki code titles...uhh I guess. It'll give me an excuse to..wait a minute. I'd have to check his G1 age too...and I doubt it changed much in the Rabbie RP...
Oh boy indeed...a little boy...by the name of tarlach. I don't know, I'm just looking at the little cute muggy of his...isn't it adorable :D...
... I can't see how there would be Shamala X Ruairi even though she said in EP8 that she knew she was supposed to stay away from the evil man.
There's already a Millia X Ruairi too, leaving Shamala heartbroken...
Seriously, that's what it was when I cleared it a second time for the sake of filling the dam thing in. Shamala could be a Tsundere and...actually...uhh....hmm...I'll come back to this...fornever
It's probable considering what she said in EP2 if that makes any significance...come to think of it..EP8's reconnaissance mission and...the fact that she didn't have to help him in EP10...fafadsfasdf
I know it happened, but I'm just confused how it could happen.
This thread is about consistancy errors regarding the story line of Mabinogi. This may or may not include retroactive continuity or "retcon" for short. Please make your own list and add to that post instead of making multiple posts. Also feel free to discuss any issues regarding the storyline.
- Try to edit your own posts on continuity Errors, or any errors regarding plot holes, or retconned information. It's better than having multiple posts.
If there is an error that was likely caused by continuity, list them here.
- Brionac, the sword of the gods, was held by Lugh. It can be used to annihilate the gods just as the Parthalonian Brionac (The Caliburn) could.
- According to Seumas in Generation 2, The Partholons were still around and are able to control Fire Golems during the first battle of Mag Tuireadh. This is an an error since the Parthalonian race was wiped out long before this. It may be possible that it was the children of the Partholon race that survived, but evidence points to Tuatha de Danann and not the Partholons themselves.
- The Knight of Light's "Ghost" was retconned from Generation 2.
- During EP6's battle with Bhafel, Blade Wyverns are seen dead on the ground. The odd thing is that Bhafel can only summon Korsek Raptors.
- Redire's Demise with the Broken Bolt was retconned.
- Shamala was "attacked" by Millia as she escapes the maze she awakes from when she was captured by the unknown man. However this scene goes unexplained and Millia knows of Shamala, but has yet to hex her with said spell. This can only mean that it is a vision of things to come or something left in as an oversight...or perhaps it was intentional.
- Morrighan and Cichol broke off their friendship, had a quarrel that involved Shakespeare and Bella, THEN worked together to kill the Partholons.
- Morgant and Esras attack Ruairi and then he believes their lies sometime later. Also how is it that he doesn't consider Morgant a servant of Morrighan especially after "she" told him to kill Ruairi?
- Lugh somehow got Pragarah back from Ruairi.
- The cutscene for Episode 4's epilogue and the beginning of Episode 5 shows the old Filia.
- Akule has a truckload of working charms. How did it not in Episode 2 and we had to go through so much trouble in 4?
- Seriously, what the hell is the "Finest Marble" we had to get in Episode 1? We don't ask Akule about it at all, not even in 7.
- Hillwen Mine and Dual Guns was only recently discovered, if I'm not mistaken. How did Cessair's Heart get them?
Ruairi says Tuatha de Danann don't age. What about their age stat, Triona and Mari as infants, Leymore, Jenna, and Andras as kiddies, and heck even the first generation of Tuatha de Dananns as kiddies too?- Ruairi says Tuatha de Danann who somehow come into contact with the Soul Stream inherit Milletian-like trait. This does not seem to be the case with Cai.
- Whatever happened to Ruairi in his visit in Erkey Falls at Episode 9 is never explained.
- Whatever happened to the adult Ruairi and Tarlach in Sidhe Sneachta as shown during Episode 4 and the ending of Episode 7 is never shown in the Saga.
- In-depth of Gael and her husband/Millia's papa is never explained.
Also Mikaya, Tuatha de Danann are the children of the Partholon, you know. It could have been heredity or the Tuatha de Danann researched ancient history.
The Milletians who were knocked out by the Cessair at Raspa Volcano appear at the same time metallurgying after the Shaman's Sanctuary was destroyed.
Sigh, reused models? DevCAT must be really lazy...
The thing about Hilwen Mines and DGs is not a continuity error. The discovery of the mines and engineering stuff by giants may have been recent, but they've been there since before the elf/giant wars.
The episode 4/5 cutscene thing might not be an error. Ingame, all the changes to Iria just happened in the update but, iirc, npcs talk about these changes as if they're something happening over time; suddenly, but not all at once. The npc conversations I've read so far haven't mentioned the changes to the towns themselves yet, so, as far as the story is concerned, the town remodeling hasn't happened yet.
When did Cai come in contact with Soul Stream?
Where does it say that Tuatha de Danann are children of the Partholon?
- What I'm asking is how did Cessair's Heart get a copy of Dowra SEs. She's not a ninja unlike Shamala, then again we don't know much about her.
- Inconsistency error, then?
- Cai said something about using the Soul Stream to resurrect Leymore at the end of Generation 9. Caliburn then takes Cai to the Soul Stream at the end of Generation 10.
- Somewhere around Shakespeare's history, I don't exactly remember where.
Considering it's "ancient technology" it's possible that Heart may have been around during that time. It also explains why she said what she said to the milletian.
—Heart during their battle in Renes |
Also Tarlach Black mask said she could use some sort of item...not sure what's that about.
I went through the commentary again and found out they added a few words to make it say from "Don't age" to "Don't age rapidly".
He...basically convinced him that all humans turn against each other. also the fact that esras placed blame on the milletian for Rian's is what ultimately turn Ruairi towards dark knight.
Ruairi is so god damn gullible... Also did they mention why Esras attacked Ruairi in the first place?
Did Morgant say anything about his side with Morrighan? Because "she" ordered Morgant around.
Didn't Esras not ever actually attack Ruairi?
If I recall correctly, she turned Rian into a puppet ruler after Redire killed him, and told Ruairi that the Milletian attacked Rian. Ruairi probably still thinks Esras is his trusty advisor.
No word on what he thinks of Rian being stuck in a huge gold golem.
She did attack him, but not directly. Esras ordered Paladin Trainees to attack Ruairi and Triona in Math Dungeon.
She's a jerk of the highest degree? Or maybe she's afraid that the presence of Ruairi as a legitimate heir of the Lord of Emain Macha will turn the people against her coup? Or that Ruairi will try to kill her when he discovers what she did to Rian. She probably didn't anticipate the milletian being around to take the blame.
*shrug* It really does sound odd for him to instantly believe her even after she tried to kill him...
considering she placed the blame on Rian's "death" on the milletian's hands...yeah I'd be pissed to if someone killed my twin/bother.
... Except Rian didn't "recognize" nor "care" about Ruairi's presence. Sure I'd be pissed if I lost a sibling but there's clearly more to that if a person I entrusted to my sibling tried to kill me and my brother went stoic on the whole damn thing.
Ruairi was never the one to think things through. And when your brother has just died, you'd be less worried on why he seemed to act a bit weird since the last time you saw him several years ago.
Damn, Ruairi is really really gullible and really really idiotic. He must have gotten it from his ancestors who also blamed Shakespeare for the plague.
Anyway, shall we get back to the other inconsistencies? This talk about dummy Ruairi is making a pyramid.
I can't help but shake this feeling off of me...
Strategy Guide
Morgant: ...Ruairi... Your father was murdered. It was Esras. The prime minister of Emain Macha, Esras the Druid. Esras currently holds all of Emain Macha in her hand. Rian is simply her puppet to control as she pleases.
He literally just said "DO NOT TRUST ESRAS! SHE IS THE BAD GUY!" (and to my surprise Morgant wasn't lying at all), and this point is justified when Esras attacks Ruairi. That final scene is just... what the hell...
Do note that he was unware of Esras true intentions. being stuck in a coma sucks, and since Ruairi left, he assumed Rian was in good hands. Ruairi still living in the past so to speak. He just can't grasp reality as it is now.
Wouldn't it make sense for his denial stage to end shortly after Esras tried to slit his throat and kill his beloved?
probably but hell should I know. (inb4lostintranslation)
No. He wanted to destroy the world and its..."irrational" ideas, the exact same plan he has in G16 that he actually carried out. Considering he was formally morgant by this time, you can tell he has the fomors on his side as of now.
Not directly. Could probably create a section right after the line about timeline/span, or link it to this thread.
I'm fine with either, really.
I figured that out too late and was like "to hell with this crap."
Yes, its his fucking fault. The whole prelude Saga is his fucking fault. Did I say its his fucking fault? Well, ITS HIS FUCKING FAULT!!! Though I initially agree that the Gods are in the wrong, I think he's too hasty to pin partial blame on us. I mean seriously, we have the power to warp to Falias and blow it up from inside out.
By the way you can talk to Languhiris and Bhafel in Break Every Seal. They give some extra dialogue.
I redid the episode, and it looks more like the other milletians were transformed into demons, rather than the non-milletians, and only the player character was forced to his/her knees. From the scene after the transformation, absolutely none of the milletian's flashy clothing can be seen, and the demon summon animation is in the same place as where the milletians were standing.
Makes sense, since only you had gotten the charm to prevent demon transformations.
I couldn't tell, with my low resolution of 1366x768 and all. I shoulda plugged in my 1980x1024 monitor lol.
I didn't really catch it, I just saw everyone going to their knees.
What the fuck did Tarlach do to us?
I honestly think they're just joking around. The "leader", if I'm not mistaken, is just a flimsy archer and is weaker than afro-dude fighter, and the highest CP is Elite Generation Monsters (if I'm not mistaken) that top at 59,994, so its probably just a reference to CP. Also, the strength of Milletians is probably just a reference to the large amount of talents.
I'm lost... Wasn't the Battles of Mag Turieadh comprised of Tuatha de Dannans? The Gods MORRIGHAN is supposedly pissed at him because she wanted to f over the Partholons and Shakespeare tried to help them.
....was it? I don't know. I don't have source material in front of me. I do know that he was in the second battle...I'm not perfect you know. and half of this is from memory.
The Goddess Who Turned into Stone says Tuatha de Danann, Sen Mag says Partholon..
Yeah, to me the Shakespeare storyline is half-assed and pretty rushed if they made mistakes...
Exactly! He doesn't even need to be in there at all!
