Bandits prowl the trade routes, looking to steal whatever they can. Listen to the guide Imp and be cautious, but your best bet is to always be ready for a fight.

Goblin Trade Helper

Basic Information

When there are no bandits nearby, while in a safe zone.
  • Bandits are thieves prowling Commerce routes who attempt to steal commodities from players.
  • A bandit (before a battle) will appear on the map crouching as either a human, a giant, a goblin, an imp, or an ogre; disguised with either a Rock, a Tree, or a Bush Costume Kit.
    • The type of disguised bandit does not affect the spawn type.
    • Ambush spots may differ between players.
    • Any bandit may drop a costume kit at a low rate.
  • Bandits may only be found during Ambushes or Pursuits.
  • Any bandit battle or Pursuing an Outlaw is just like any other monster battle.
    • All penalties to a monster battle will apply, in case of disconnections and logging-out of the game.
      • The pursuit of an outlaw can be cancelled by clicking the invisible button on the top-right corner of the screen.
        • Changing channels or relogging will help as well.
      • An ambush during a commerce trade is inescapable once triggered.
        • Disconnections or logging-off can cause a portion to be taken out of your trade.
          • Disconnections will place the lost value on any Outlaw at random, allowing it to be recovered.
      • The length of battle is the roughly same as an ambush which lasts approximately 2 minutes and 40 seconds.
        • The battle theme music: 'Commerce Battle' length is 2:28 seconds; about 10 to 12 seconds is left until all the Bandits disappear.
        • After the elapsed time, a banjo tune will play; the Bandits will disappear and may not appear at the same point of that map.
    • Getting Knocked-Out and choosing to Revive at Town can lead to the end of the battle.
      • When in pursuit, one can still go back to the battle scene if there is enough time left; if one chose to revive back in town.
    • A Pet can be used and summoned to combat against Bandits.
      • A player using a pet character cannot trigger an Ambush or detect Bandits, as they are unable to obtain Commerce and Pursuit Statuses. They can still participate in the battle, however.
      • As a pet, Outlaw's Homestead Passes, Bandit Badges, and the like cannot be picked-up. Only drops like gold and equips can be obtained.
    • During a Commerce trade an Ambush is a bit different:
      • A player can only deliver 50% damage to the Bandit or towards any other monster involved in an Ambush.
      • A pet cannot be summoned.
    • Anyone involved in an Ambush or Bandit battle is considered a target, including their pets. During Commerce trade, however, the Cargo is also a target.
      • Only two Bandits may target a player at a time. In case the others have not detected, only one may attack instead.
      • Be careful not to cause any other monsters to become involved in an Ambush.
      • If any battle with a Bandit is too difficult, ask other players to go with you.
When entering a dangerous zone from a safe zone.
  • Sometimes, Bandits drop Bandit Badges. You can sell these to the Trade Assistant Imp for Ducats.
  • Bandit ranks include Newbie, Rookie, Trained, Hardened, Veteran, and Master.
    • Newbie rank only consists of an Imp which always spawn alone.
    • Bandits who are ranked Hardened, Veteran, and Master tend to spawn in large groups, and should not be taken alone when low level, especially during Commerce.
  • At times, Smugglers may appear on the roads. They are often guarded by Ambush Spots which consists of very powerful Bandits.
  • Bandits will only be aggressive towards their spawn method, meaning bandits spawned through Ambush will only be aggressive towards such, likewise for Pursuit.
    • Though like natural, they will become aggressive if attacked.
      • This excludes the use of the Flame Burst skill if said user is not in either Commerce or Pursuit statuses and the bandits were spawned via an Ambush.

Specific Information

  • For some reason, Bandits tend to cause a massive drop in FPS. Computers with low specifications should be extremely wary when engaging bandits.
  • Unlike normal Imps, Bandit Imps tend to circle the player first before attacking.
  • Bandit Imps run slightly faster than normal Imps.
  • Unlike normal Goblins, Bandit Goblins are extremely aggressive, often using Normal Attacks.
  • Unlike normal Goblin Archers, Bandit Goblin Archers do not switch back to their Bow upon switching to Bare Hands.
  • Unlike normal Ogres, Bandit Ogres do not possess Stomp.
  • Bandit Ogres tend to stay down longer than normal if attacked by Windmill.
  • Bandit Humans possess Windmill, and may use it offensively.
  • Bandit Giants are armed with Knuckles, resulting a five-hit combo. This, coupled with their high damage, makes them potentially dangerous.
    • However, they tend to occasionally pause mid-combo, allowing the player to retaliate.
  • Only Ogres and Humans may receive Boss rank, which are stronger than their fellow goons.
    • Ogres are also always Boss ranked.
  • All Bandits aggro instantly the moment a player moves within their aggro range.
    • In an Ambush, they will only aggro the player if they move even a single step.
      • One may stand still and can wipe them out by spamming Windmill, although this will cause one to attack.
  • All Bandits perform Double Aggro regardless of type. In other words, only two Bandits from the group will attack the player while two others will attempt to loot the goods.
  • All Bandits have zero Defense, Protection, or Injury, regardless of rank or type.

Trivia

  • Previously, the Bandit Boss Ogre had a coal skin color. This was erroneously changed to an alabaster skin color with the 2021 Beauty Update.
