I cleared the mission in under 3 minutes by defeating all the enemies. (Cethlenn was at less than 40-50% health and the mission ended.) Not sure if this deserves a mention or not.
Get Ledger From a Royal to the south east. Give Ledger to Pontiff to the north west. Get Handkerchief from Royal to the south west. Give Handkerchief to Pontiff next to her and then speak again to him. Get the Perfume from her. Give Perfume to the Pontiff by the east door. Get Flowers from her, and give to Royal to the north.
Get Cookies from Royal standing in the middle. Give Cookies to Centrist to the south east. Get Book from Centrist. Give Book to Pontiff to the north east. Get Mandrake from Pontiff, give to the Centrist to the north east.
That is the order I think it plays out.
When I did it, I started with Nele and went in a circle, ending with Agnes. Im pretty sure the order doesn't matter here.
On my first character, I noticed only 5 NPCs give responses that are at all informative. On my 2nd character I tried talking to only those 5 characters, and that was sufficient to complete the "Question people in Emain Macha" step in this quest. On my third character I tried the same 5 characters in a different order, and that also worked.
Here's the 2 orders that worked for me:
- Delen, Nele, Osla, Aodhan, Agnes.
- Agnes, Delen, Nele, Osla, Aodhan.
I've now run out of characters to test it with. The obvious question is whether some set of 4 NPCs would have been sufficient. So if anyone wants to experiment it would be good to test one of the other 3 cyclic rearrangements of the above and report back. That is, try one of these:
- Nele, Osla, Aodhan, Agnes, Delen.
- Osla, Aodhan, Agnes, Delen, Nele.
- Aodhan, Agnes, Delen, Nele, Osla.
If it is possible to complete with only 4 NPCs, one of those cases will probably complete before you speak to the 5th NPC.
Am I the only one or is the Balor fight really bullshit? I'm sorry, but it's annoying that his main charge attack is undodgeable, his grab skill can be instantly used after the player is thrown away, meaning that he can spam the skill and stun lock you AND to add salt to the injury, the Salamanders all around are just spawning over and over again, which sometimes hinders your progress. Whoever made this boss fight probably thought that the more annoying shit they added, the harder the fight would be. Congratulations, genius, it's hard, nigh impossible even, but it's not fun either.
IKR like literally during the fight I would get thrown, died, got up and instantly grabbed again, distance to him didn't matter. Its like they want to force you to nao or something. I can't even keep track of how many times I used a full recov just to get spammed with grab and have all my mp and hp drained before I could even move.
I have the same experience, except instead of stones, I used balloons. The worst part, for me, is that almost all the previous boss battles required some sort of strategy. This guy's just all about using brute force and enduring him. There's no strategy whatsoever.
I used pets in command mode so they can attack balor when he grabs since im an elf i had to do magic on him. when he uses the flame thing on the middle desummon and summon a diff pet and soul link it to it. Divinity also helps with celestial spike for stacks. at 50 stacks wide range attack works. easy 50% HP in the beginning.
Here are the quest screenshots I remembered to take(I will be updating this as I go, and with which quests I remember to do it with). https://puu.sh/CuKeL/d91249fa44.jpg
