"Tigers have striped skin, not only striped fur. (Game says that it's false, can someone confirm?)" The answer is "O". I kicked out on that one. --Leyuu 18:09, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
There's actually two questions based around this. One is true, the other is false. They're worded slightly differently so grab a screencap if you can. IIRC one is "Tigers have striped skin, not only striped fur" which is true and the other is "Tigers have striped fur, not skin" which is false. There was an issue last time was well with two very similar questions having different answers. Something like Pierrick of Taillteann vs Pierrick in Taillteann.
Should incorrect questions have their corrections noted next to them, or placed in comment tags so you can only see them in edit mode? I think that having them next to the question may get in the way of ctrl+f.
How about we list our corrections in a new section on the "OX Quiz Event" page. http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/index.php?title=OX_Quiz_Event
That way people can still use control-F on the page that only shows the questions - http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/index.php?title=OX_Quiz_Event/Questions - without the risk of their search being distracted by our corrections.
I'd rather not have the border around the incorrect questions, since people who use CTRL+F might end up looking at the incorrect question and mistaking it for correct, when it's actually wrong (according to Nexon).
I agree. A friend of mine got confused by the border, too.
Or, maybe putting it under closed hidden text instead? I don't know if that will mess up ctrl+f on this page however.
Agreed. No need for a border at all on this part. But I'll leave it to someone with more technical skill to remove it.
Would it also be worth putting a sentence at the very top of the page suggesting people use http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/index.php?title=OX_Quiz_Event/Questions when playing the quiz, so that Ctrl-F will never find anything that isn't in a question text?
I'm actually of the opinion that the incorrect questions section doesn't have a place on this wiki. This is supposed to be a guide for the game, not some trivia outlet or community chatterspace like TV tropes (though going by additional comments to some incorrect questions it'd seem some users think otherwise).
Actually it's doing a whole lot more than that. Even if I thought that was a good reason, a single line in the summary would suffice to warn players that some of the answers are actually wrong. A mark next to a statement in the list of statements would suffice to show that it's incorrectly set by the game. As the list stands now it's a bunch of people who thought they were contributing to the wiki by posting anything and everything they could think of which is how pages get trimmed back by irate editors.
"The Black Flame Mare Whistle is a quest reward, and allows one to obtain a Black Flamemare horse pet, once per character. "
Is it 1 per character or 1 per account?
I was thinking we could place the unfinished questions, I.E. "Little Caesars sells a one-topping pizza for" and others like it, at the top of their respective lists. That way if people are reading through the list to memorize it, they will notice these questions and be sure to remember them.
Is there anything we can use to flag possible duplicates such as :
The Nintendo64 game Starfox contains Rainbow Road.
and
The game F-zero for nintendo 64 has rainbow road (not exact wording and is an incorrect question[real answer is Mario kart but nexon failed])
Although, I'm not sure if these are duplicates are not. Would anyone happen to know?
I propose we get rid of the sectioning off of "Mabinogi-related" questions. I don't see a purpose for it.
I think we should leave the questions on the front page. A lot of people stay on that page and just use CTRL+F and search and look to see if it's in the red or blue box when searching the answer rapidly.
Anybody else agree?
Alaska IS the largest state in the US, but we have it down as being "false." Is this an error on the contributor's part or Nexon's?
What on Earth are you talking about, Frogstar? -Edit Nevermind. I see you were talking about the Quiz Event.
It's admittedly been awhile since I had to study geography... But last I heard Canada was it's own country, with it's own people and government. :P Of all the US states both contiguous and non-contiguous, Alaska is the largest in terms of land mass. If looking at only the contiguous united states, Texas is the largest.
I was just on the quiz show, and I was on false(X) for this question, but it claimed to be true. It could be one of those weird questions that are really false but true in the game...? (And Texas is the largest...?)
If I recall from the last one they did there were a few questions that popped up now and then that were bugged and would fail you as false even if you answered correctly.
It was a joke Miyani.
Regardless, if the quiz show decided "Canada is the 51st state of the USA" was true, that's the part of the page it would go under. So rather than arguing facts, we just need to make sure things are listed under what Nexon expects for the answer.
It says Spiderman's lover is Lois Lane. That's Superman's lover. Spiderman would be Mary Jane. I haven't seen this question in game, is it a typo on the wiki or an error on Nexon's part?
