Repair still glitched?

Anyone know for sure if her repair rate is still messed up? When I passed by her in Cor her repair rate showed up as 98%, but I have not repaired a dream catcher from her so I can't be too sure.

Lalunae (talk)11:53, 20 September 2017

Her repair rate seems to be working now, but she's got a new annoying problem now.

I tried to repair 4 points of Durability on my Dreamcatcher, one by one, which she did, but her dialogue didn't advance by itself, so I had to click through the same dialogue 4 times after repairing.

There you go.
(She carelessly throws the dreamcatcher back at you.)
There you go.

Just like that.

Snowie (talk)13:20, 20 September 2017

I think I've seen that issue before, but with another NPC... I wouldn't remember which anymore, though. x_x So then it's safe to remove that bit about her broken repair rate on the page?

Lalunae (talk)14:13, 20 September 2017

It should be! Both her regular and 100% repair rates seem entirely functional.

Snowie (talk)16:46, 20 September 2017

Wonderful, thanks!

Trivia/Backstory?

I remember adding a few trivia bits for some pages such as Hebona, Cressida, Adonis, Thames and others a few years ago, but I was wondering if what I discovered tonight is at all relevant enough to add here.

In 1898, Paul Voulez and Julianne Shon Wien were leading the Valjean UN mission in West Africa. This mission was simply meant to unite the West African colonies, but they didn't, due to so much of their own destruction...

But then they settled and discovered Sarah Anyu Mangu or (Sarraounia) and her people, who was their priestess and chief. Refereed to as the Panther Queen. It's claimed that she would transform into a panther to defend her people, before they would all disappear.

As interesting as this is, I'm not sure if I want to add this, but I'll gladly share the links!

Anemki (talk)19:53, 11 September 2017

I'm not entirely sure. The only notable similarities I could draw from the two came down to the panther/transforming part. It's possible that Shamala could've been based off of the Sarraounia (or maybe someone else, or a mixture of people/things), but it might also be safer to keep it here rather than under trivia since it looks like there was an argument on what should and shouldn't be considered on pages some time ago. >.>

Wiki thoughts aside, that was definitely an interesting read! :^D

Lalunae (talk)10:59, 12 September 2017

Yeah, that's a good point, it just sounded very similar. I also read stories about the castle of Dunbar in Scotland and wondered if it had anything to do with Dunbarton, but who knows! I guess even if it isn't in the game, trivia and interesting mythology is always fun to read about.

Anemki (talk)19:21, 13 September 2017

I would say yes, maybe not in multiple sentences though. But lord knows I'm insane to think trivia has any place on the wiki.

Kapra (talk)01:33, 14 September 2017

I just generally love trivia or adding things where Hebona or places from mythology or lore even comes from. I'm sure there's other people who enjoy that sort of stuff too. I would just have to figure out how exactly to add it in. But again, if it's just a theory and not proven they're related, I guess I really can't add it...

Anemki (talk)20:04, 14 September 2017

I believe this falls under "unrelated mythos". This thread is a good place for it, though!

Post-Saga Repair

Is that a visual glitch? Did you ACTUALLY try it?

Infodude575 (talk)15:46, 3 September 2013

1 month later...Do not repair at her. She fully failed 2 points...more testing needed.

Funny fact: She carelessly tosses it at you, then apologizes.

まそっぷ ! (talk)22:10, 31 October 2013

A few months earlier, she had 0% and she didn't mess up, then sometime later she messed up...

Sheesh...

Infodude575 (talk)22:12, 31 October 2013

*Shortly after finding a 1/16 normal dream catcher*

She failed all 15 points....ALL OF IT!

まそっぷ ! (talk)22:16, 31 October 2013

Mikaya "is a friend of Shamala"?

Infodude575 (talk)22:20, 31 October 2013

Okay looking into this, cross-referencing with Japanese Servers, and maybe KR, turns out that before saga it is at 98%. Shamala is okay with repairing someone else's dream catcher, albeit wishing the person could repair her own. At this point it is working. After saga, she appears to have lost the ability to repair it due to the events of Sagas.

Funny Trivia: She has quite the potty mouth in JP

Someone Confirm this. I have no access to KR and very limited access to JP.

まそっぷ ! (talk)22:29, 31 October 2013

In before intended? probably since text differs between before and after completion of sagas.

まそっぷ ! (talk)22:43, 31 October 2013

Update: So I took 6 dream catchers and widdled them all to 0/16.

  1. 1 Blessed Dream Catcher is full repair at 0% (Post Sagas)
  2. 1 Blessed Dream Catcher is point by point repair at 0%
  3. 1 Blessed Dream Catcher is Point by Point and blessed after each point at 0%
  4. 1 Blessed Dream Catcher is full repair at 98% (Before Sagas)
  5. 1 Blessed Dream Catcher is point by point repair at 98%
  6. 1 Blessed Dream Catcher is Point by Point and blessed after each point is broken at 98%

Results:

  • 0% Killed all 3, blessed or not. Do not attempt to repair anything at this point after Sagas!
  • 98% works fine, and only 1 point broke at point by point then bless.
ベリサ・マイルスター (talk)01:09, 28 November 2013

Post-New Beginnings, her success rate now says 98%. I tested one point repair and it didn't break.

September enlightenment update > no magic prot on NPC

The new update broke shamala hard, she has no magic def prot besides her int, so all the missions where she is supposed to be relatively invincible with 50 - 90 prot, now leave her with only 10 magic prot

e.g Nightmare : Unknown Man (Shadow Mission : Coming Days) 262 def 90 prot 28 Mag.df 10 Mag prot long story short, mages do 2k to her in her NPC scenarios now making them almost unplayable, she has less magic defence then a player now

Sixletters (talk)18:13, 19 September 2013

Yeah, it's done a number on RPs as I recall. No idea why why they didn't fix/readjust.

Because DevCAT is dumb.
