Talk:Skill Minigame

From Mabinogi World Wiki

Marked for redrafting. Page is incomprehensible. --Skynet 09:57, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

The percents are 10 - 10 - 10 - 5 - 10 - 10 - 10 - 5 - 10 - 10 - 10. They might be a bit off, I'm working on a better scale for more precession Katsuke 17:26, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Why did Kei changed from percents to centimeters? come one that just made it crazy confusing..... Katsuke 17:35, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm changing centimetres to "Segments". This page is already confusing enough as it is.--Skynet 05:38, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Now cooking makes more sense thanks ^^ Katsuke 00:49, 17 July 2009 (UTC)

Blacksmithing minigame

Which part of the green section is "perfect timing"? --Inemnitable 08:08, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

This is still a highly debated topic. Some people say the middle is the best. Others say at the end (or even beginning). My own research shows that as long as you hit decently, the finishing grade of the item is completly random. For example, I've produced 6/2 armours with 4 "perfect" hits using a R1 GUI. The next armour had no "perfect" hits and came out 6/3. --Skynet 18:53, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Fishing?

Who says that doing the fishing game with a touchpad is nearly impossible? I used to do it all the time O_o Please keep subjective material out?--Mystickskye 15:25, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Seperate

Why not just place all these on the corresponding skill pages and make this page link to the sections of the skill w/ the minigame There are # Skill Minigames

  1. Tailoring Mini-Game
  2. Blacksmithing Mini-Game
  3. Etc...

Wine

I've added information regarding Aging, it came with G10S2 update for Taiwan Mabinogi, so i assume it will be around there for NA. MarleTW 00:47, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Measuring Made Easier (Sort of)

I have found that math is the easiest way to measure out the ingredients. More specifically, I change the recipe percentages into ratios. Take Cheese Bread, for example. The recipe calls for 80% bread and 20% cheese. The ratio for this is 80:20, which reduces to 4:1, bread to cheese. In plain English, that means that for every four times you add bread, you have to add cheese once. This method brings you within one or two percentage points of a perfect recipe. From there, you can slightly alter the number of times you add the ingredients to get a perfect meal (and those who are very good at math can figure it out mathematically). --MariQueen 03:36, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

That would've work brilliantly, if the cooking bar incremented at a fixed speed, which it doesnt--§ýkÌ☼ 16:23, 6 November 2010 (PDT)

Do we even need this page? Having all the minigames on their respective skill pages alone is enough, at least for me.

Infodude575 (talk)18:29, 3 March 2014

I agree with Infodude on this one. Let's move everything into their respective pages and delete this page, unless someone has a compelling reason not to do so.

Blargel (talk)18:30, 3 March 2014

Also, be sure to edit things that link here before requesting deletion.

I like being able to see all the minigames in one place, personally. Though that's just my opinion. Either way, I don't think everything should be on skill pages. The wine making process for example.

Kapra - (Talk)14:39, 4 March 2014

We're actually in the middle of discussions on if we could merge the wine making process with the skill, though we're having difficulty deciding how to handle some things at the moment. If you'd like to contribute to that discussion as well, it's over here. I did some digging around in talk pages and it seems like the reason why the process was split from the skill in the first place was because the skill minigames were split off from their respective skill pages as well. My opinion is that if something is used only for one other thing, it might as well be merged with that page as well. The only exception to that guideline of mine that I can think of would be items.

Blargel (talk)15:20, 4 March 2014

Wait, the minigame was ever a part of the skill page? The minigame precedes the skill page.

Kapra - (Talk)15:50, 4 March 2014

I don't mind having one of those list things for the minigame.

Infodude575 (talk)15:23, 4 March 2014

I also have an open sandbox for anyone to edit and mess around with if it does happen. The only impasse I've come across is EXP/Rewards.

Winemaking bugged?

I'm entirely unable to see the purple splotches described in the wiki's winemaking minigame page, and the purity is taking a nosedive because I can't click what I can't see. Is anyone else having this problem?

Running Mabi from Windows 7 x64 with an AMD Phenom II x4 945 and an NVidia GeForce GTX550Ti, though it's also happening on my laptop, which likewise runs Win7 x64 and packs an Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 and an ATI Mobility Radeon X2300.

Ramunia19:42, 5 March 2012

Yes -- it seems to be happening to everyone universally. I haven't met a single person who can see the splotches. Of course, that means it's now impossible to get more Mod Coupons and max-upgrade the top tier weapons. :P

Simpet23:36, 10 March 2012

Okay, so it's not a fault with my video cards then.

Sucks to hear it's an epidemic, though.
