Wouldn't it be similar to Dragon Dash Attack/Stampede, as in the user is still calculated in Position A during the animation before heading to Position B when it completes?
I just windmilled someone in the middle of a backflip animation away from me.
I think we should make a small list of what skills can have their animation delay canceled by tumbling, similar to the one in Windmill that lists what skills can be used during the spinning animation. Anyone else thinks this is a good idea?
Maybe not on the tumble page (at least I wouldn't prefer it there) but definitely on the other skill pages I think would be great.
I'm not sure what you mean by putting it on other skill pages? You mean add a line saying "this skill's animation can be canceled with tumble" to every applicable skill? That seems like it'd be rather tedious and difficult compared to simply listing all the skills that can be tumbled out of on the main Tumble page.
I concur, it's not like you'd go to, such as, Gold Strike's page and look for information on Tumble.
Not exactly, other Pyro (Nice name :D). It's more about being able to use another skill before the animation of whatever you're doing is finished. (As an example, using Assault slash on an enemy that's just been windmilled before you finish spinning) As for a list, It seems that pretty much all fighter and melee combat skills can be ani-canceled after the attack motion has been executed.
I don't understand Nexon's logic.
How is it that you can Forward Roll with any weapon, but not Backflip? And that especially includes Bare Hands, which makes NO SENSE!
True, but have you tried Back flipping while holding a pair of Morning stars? Or perhaps a Claymore?
Then uh... how can you forward roll with them? I can hardly imagine that...
It's a fighter skill; That should be reason enough. A lot of things in Mabi don't make sense, so there's no point really having this discussion just because you don't see how it can work in a game.
Magic and melee were around since beta, when things were more simple. You just pointed out exceptions. Now apply that to tumble and you just answered your own question. Does it make sense that you need a shield to charge? (excluding giants and reforges from this) Nope, but in real life, you could be butt-naked and charge at someone. Does it make sense that you can activate chain cylinder without having a cylinder equipped? Does it make sense that giants can't use bows/make bows that they can use? Again, the number of things that don't make sense in Mabi makes it a bit pointless to really question it.
Well it IS a fighter skill, is it not >>? I'm not sure if the other fighter skills require you to have knuckles equipped to use them, but it isn't out of the question to expect a few of those skills will need them.
Oh btw, it's a lot easier to roll forward than to do a backflip o-o...
I don't feel like explaining it, but it is possible to do a backflip with a claymore, considering if you have the upper body strength. but I don't think that matters...as for forward rolling, it's just a bit hard but upper body strength is taken into consideration once more...
aside all of this, I believe the whole thing is based on speed.Fighter destiny is about being light on equipment and having barely anything to use as weapons other than barehands/knuckles.
You realize bare hands is not classified as a knuckle and therefore not taken into account into fighter skills?
Still, Tumble is like an Evasion, only reverse. I don't see why it has to be limited...
And there's also the speed increase. A) Is it additive or multiplicative and B) Is it constant, or do you need knuckles equipped for the extra speed, because if so, then it really makes no sense.
Actually I was a little confused on what the speed increase really was. I ASSUME it's just a speed increase similar to using demi that lasts a few seconds, but a friend of mine thought that maybe it just made your tumble faster instead. *shrug*
Yeah. It says "Tumble Speed +x%" where x is the bonus based on rank, not "Movement Speed +x%". Plus I, as a Giant, am not faster than any Elves at all.
It makes more sense if it was tumble speed than movement speed. The higher the rank, the farther you'll tumble and the faster you'll do it. I'm going to guess that the tumble speed increase is to compensate for the extra distance your character covers as you rank it, or somewhere along those lines.
