C1 renewal

C1 renewal

Two notes:

  1. Talking to Lorna (referred to "Shy" on the Advent of the Goddess Renewal quest) brings up five choices: g1, g2, g3, completing Chapter 1, or re-explanation. Completing Chapter 1 means one automatically finishes all the generation quests (and this removes generation-specific items as well - I lost Protection Charm - Eavan's Ring from this. There's no choice for simply "continue old quests". In other words, talking to Lorna has to be avoided if people have not yet finished and want to continue the "old" chapter one. That brings me to the other problem...
  2. If someone is on the ideals part on G2, their quests get removed (though the "ideal look" keyword remains). I initially assumed this happened to everyone still on the old quests, though I think I'm proved wrong by the fact no one else is raising a fuss about it yet. However, this brings up a problem: the people on the ideals part of g2 before the genesis update is either forced to restart a generation, or get stuck on that part permanently (since neither talking to Lorna nor giving up the renewal quest appears to bring back the ideals quests). I've seen two cases of this.

If I'm wrong, or if there's something I've missed about the new G2, please point it out.

How do you know whether you're doing the new version or the old version? I got the first G3 keyword before the new patch, but haven;t used it yet. Does that mean I've forfeit my ability to do the normal version?

If I haven't, since people who are still in the middle of the normal gen and choose to complete the normal gen can't do the new version, but people who have finished the normal version can, does that mean you can redo a gen as soon as you have finished the normal version? Or does the redo ability only apply for people done with all three gens as of the patch implementation?

Did you talk to Lorna yet?

Infodude57521:25, 12 July 2012

Shy is the original NPC before they replaced him with lorna. Old quests can be triggered. I'm guess it has not been entirely removed as of yet. I managed to sequence break a little bit, but end up at a stand still.

As far as distinguishing new from old, New quests are automatically received as you progress through the quest chain. Furthermore, anything dealing with keywords are instead quest objectives. Of course, what infodude said about talking to Lorna will distinguished whether or not you are on the quest chain. Older players that are not elves or giants will still be on the old quest chain, but will receive a quest to select a Renewal for Advent of the goddess. Once you talk to Lorna, you can either start G1, G2, or G3. Choosing C1 will force complete everything. New quest chain has quests for certain parts that never had quests in the old quest chain. Also, the new quest chain auto completes everything unless othewise stated, or your temporary inventory has not been emptied.

Haven't talked to Lorna yet, so I'm still on normal G3, right?

So am I allowed to just complete my normal G3, then go back and restart at G1 again?

Have my pie and eat it too?

Yes, you're still on normal G3. You may choose to complete g3 before renewal, or renew now.

Actually, I think one can do the new Chapter 1 again even if they complete G3 now. The key to talking to Lorna is the quest given, and as far as I know the quest doesn't auto-disappear when one finishes the old G3.

I'm not sure if that would be an abusable glitch, however...

Yes... Like I said. You may choose to complete G3 before renewing.

Didn't read entire message. ^^'
