Noticing a few things...

This is namely for Bangor and Emain Macha, but it seems like the meleers have the ability to bypass Mana Shield and do direct damage to the HP instead of letting the MP soak damage... Is anyone else noticing this also? Ahodhan and the Begger are the two known to me that does this... x.x;;;

Lt. Jessie15:41, 19 April 2012

I don't think that happened to me before...

Blargel21:27, 19 April 2012

Seriously...? x.x;;; I'll have to check again then next time I run. I could've sworn I still had MP before my HP went poof. Maybe it was lag...

Lt. Jessie15:40, 21 April 2012

making the page...not so...vertical.

gonna put each team into a "spoiler box" (so to speak) so that it's easier to edit the section you want. The headers for each team will be more visible. Anyone that doesn't like that can simply revert my edit.

Mikaya23:13, 19 March 2012

Ah, interesting. I didn't know we had hidden text header and footer templates. We did discuss hiding the sections, but I had implemented it in a silly looking way. This looks a lot better. Thanks!

Blargel18:40, 20 March 2012

Poison attack

All healers, Lucas, and Fleta have a poisoning weapon. You can tell from their purple weapons if they can poison. Healers might switch to their poisoning weapon when knocked back with normal attacks.

Meru10:22, 3 March 2012

New template

How's the new template look? I stuck it in for Tir Chonail only for now so people can see how it looks. You'll notice that it doesn't have the NPC's AI type anymore because I thought it'd be obvious just from looking at the skills. Please let me know how it can be improved. Or if you think it's good enough, let me know and I'll make the rest of the NPCs as well (I'm lazy right now, I'll finish up later if you think it's good, lol.)

Blargel21:26, 2 March 2012

Hmm... Should've done the test with the boss set since that one's data is officially complete, but from the looks of it. Looks good so far. But, are the hide/show toggles necessary?

Lt. Jessie21:36, 2 March 2012

I was afraid the page would be too huge if they were all showing at first. But then again, there are the anchors and nav menu at the top so I guess that's unnecessary.

Blargel21:37, 2 March 2012

Yeah, now it looks much better. Pictures we can just use the NPC portraits, or try for in-game screenshots. However, I do prefer the portraits. It's much more uniform.

I'll also start adding equipment if I can get a better look at them next time around.

Lt. Jessie21:59, 2 March 2012

Is equipment necessary? It's not like we make a note of what humanoid enemies are using to attack us on the monster pages. Also, I was expecting to use in game screenshots, mostly because of Manus who isn't black anymore, lol.

Blargel22:05, 2 March 2012

Um... If needed, there is a "white" Manus NPC portrait in the wiki somewhere, I think on his page.

Lt. Jessie22:26, 2 March 2012

Finished moving to the new template except for Tara because we still don't have all the passive defenses checked. Also, I really think we should use in-game screenshots of the models while they're in the mission. It'd be more consistent with the rest of the wiki's monster pages.

Blargel03:54, 3 March 2012

All right then, though, that one I won't be able to help much with.

Lt. Jessie08:16, 3 March 2012

Editting Guidelines

These are just guidelines on how the tables should be edited for consistency's sake.

  • For the NPCs roles, use the following terms: Melee, Archer, Mage, Alchemist, Healer, Summoner.
  • For the skills, please use the SkillIcon template. Include all skills you notice the NPCs using including minor things like Smash.
  • The notes section is for things that don't fit in any other section.

I may be creating a template similar to the monster templates used on non-shadow mission monsters for organization's sake. And yes, I realize that I can include the passive defenses as skills. I'll fix that later. :/

Blargel16:18, 21 February 2012

So we're gonna try to put in all the skills we see them use? This is gonna be a bit of work then... *Slates the next couple weekends for recording NPC battles* ...Would also be wise if we looked at some of the vids on Youtube to help with this part since they are all recorded and up for public viewing. Maybe have links be posted here so that other people can reference them if it looks unclear.

Also, I really want to say that Pierrick is only a Melee. I don't know who was the one that says that he's an Alchemist because in all honest, of all the times I've been attacked by him, he has never brandished a cylinder. That one is reserved Dorren and Eabha for Team Tail.

Lt. Jessie19:02, 21 February 2012

Yes, all skills, because that would be more complete. We don't have to be completely anal about it though. A list of the most dangerous skills would be sufficient for most people, but this is a wiki... Might as well get as much info out of it as we can. :3

As for Pierrick. I heard news of him casting Ice Spear myself, but that could've been misinformation or trolling. I'll have to look again as well.

Blargel16:36, 23 February 2012

Pierrick with IS...? WTH...? oO;;; Yeah, I'll check tonight after a run.

Lt. Jessie18:46, 23 February 2012

Ok, for sure, Pierrick isn't alchemist. I have yet to see him once pull out a cylinder on me or any of the teams I've run in. Also, wouldn't three alchemists be considered sort of an overkill, especially with Dorren and her Shock anyways...? As for the Ice Spear, I don't see him equipped with a wand, so... This enough to debunk that?

As for the heavy stander part, which seems to be what is lacking the most, I'll see what I can do about that. Didn't run this past weekend due to school stuff.

Lt. Jessie09:22, 27 February 2012

I was thinking that if Pierrick were an alchemist, maybe he was using crystallized Ice Spear, but I guess either way it's not possible since he's Melee. Heavy Stander is pretty easy to test for, honestly. I've been rather lazy with this, but I can definitely figure out the heavy stander portions myself if you don't have the time. I just need to be willing to die a few times, lol. Perhaps after the heavy stander parts are filled in, I'll start working on a template for the NPCs.

Blargel12:20, 27 February 2012

Yes, please do that on your time if you can. The group I go in with refuses to let me do anything other than range in there... xDDDD

I'll start adding some of the other skills I do catch though. Most are basic combat for all I know, but we'll see where we go with this, ok?

Lt. Jessie18:02, 27 February 2012

I just spent 100k buying passes and Bangor, Tara, and Taillteann refuse to show up in the first round. I think Taillteann specifically is avoiding me because I've never fought them. People usually drag me in near the ending rounds. I know for sure I've seen Tara and Bangor first though, but they don't wanna show up anymore...

I guess I'll spend another 50k and stop there for today.

EDIT: I just got the Iria Humans 4 out of the 5 times (other time was Emain Macha). What the heck is wrong with this thing?

Blargel20:07, 29 February 2012

There something in particular you're looking for? oO

Lt. Jessie20:20, 29 February 2012

I go in and play dead where they spawn and make my pets melee them to test heavy stander. That way I don't need to get a party together to test things. However, they really don't want me testing Bangor, Tara, or Taillteann or something.

Blargel22:45, 29 February 2012

Isn't Playing Dead dangerous? They can use Assault Slash out of the blue and then start mobbing you to death.

Infodude57523:16, 29 February 2012

Play dead before they spawn and they won't aggro so you're safe. Test with pets to your heart's content. (Then get up and ice spear everything to see if anyone is immune to it or magic pings and then exit before you die)

Blargel00:03, 1 March 2012

Skill Adding

I've gone ahead and added the skills I remember off the top of my head to their respective NPCs. There are some I am still unsure of, so if you see them used in-game and it's not on the list, chances are I didn't catch it and will probably need to do another run or two to confirm it. I think a template would be really nice to organize everything at this point... xD

Probably the harder ones to catch the full list would be the alchemists, especially Dorren and Simon since they're considered "high threats" with their Shock abilities. So, just a heads up for those who want to help out, please do try and make certain of what these guys can do when in this mission. More info means people can be better prepared!

Oh yeah, for the archers in particular, should I note which ones are using the bow and which ones are using the crossbow? Not sure if that is relevant or not...

Lt. Jessie20:58, 27 February 2012

I don't think it really matters since it seems like the game arbitrarily chooses how far enemies can shoot regardless of their bow type. That's about the difference between a bow and xbow in my head and it doesn't matter if they shoot the same range in the hands of an NPC.

That's just an assumption though.

Blargel19:02, 29 February 2012

Arrow revolver

Is it only me, or does it seem like Caitin can use Arrow revolver? o-o

I noticed that she made the aiming action right after a shot, and hit me like 3 times.

I couldn't see any skill bubble, but do any NPCs have Arrow revolver? Just wondering.

ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)21:52, 27 February 2012

There is a possibility, but I'm not sure of this myself since we usually do a beatdown on the archers when we can. However, since it is a skill, I assume a bubble of some sort will appear if they do load it, whether you see the actual skill or not. Thanks for this heads up though. I'll keep an eye out for Caitin next time I'm in there, or if you can, record a fight with Team Tir. I'll be happy to help analyze this if you do get it and post it up on Youtube somewhere.

Lt. Jessie22:10, 27 February 2012

Remember that a skill bubble appears for normal ranged attack as well though. It may well be AR.

Blargel19:01, 29 February 2012

Mirage missile

I noticed some NPC's have Mirage Missile. I could not tell who sorry but like to have that on watch for how deadly it is.

Lightlord23:17, 19 February 2012

I'll add those in... I know for sure that Granat of Team Tailteann has it since it is a race specific attack.

Lt. Jessie23:48, 19 February 2012

Leaving a few notes...

I just did this recently, so I'll put some notes here that I found from an archer's perspective... Feel free to add to your char as needed.

  • Mages/Healers
    • This one I can probably safely confirm since I'm almost always targeting mages and healers before helping out on the others. Mages/healers don't ping to range, which makes them prime targets for archers, especially against the ones with Advanced Magic. Fleta, however, DOES PING for ranged [Think Level 2] and Magic [Level 3] - think she's the only exception to the rule.
  • Archers
    • Caitin I know for sure has Crash Shot [She spammed it on me a few times...] but not so sure with Endelyon. Aranwen also has CS. Kusina is an archer and does have CS, as well as Granat [A note... I think he also has Support Shot (Need to confirm this in a round later today) and his CS hurts a LOT!!!]. Jennifer MIGHT have CS, but I'll confirm this later. I know for sure one of the twins [Del/Delan] has it, if not, both do. I'll confirm this one later also. Think Belita and Ethna are also archers since I remember seeing Ethna with an Xbow... Belita usually gets killed before I can see, so I'll check this one later. Granites I think also has CS.
  • Alchemists
    • I want to say that Sinead is an alchemist/melee, but I can't really say for sure... Heledd is alchemist for sure.
  • Melee
    • Elen is a Melee, but she doesn't ping ranged. However, I want to say that she's level 1 PD to melee, but I'll get back to that one after another round. Arzhela is a melee, but no PDs from what I saw so far. Pierrick was doing melee most of the time for me with a Rapier, unique to the rest of the NPCs. Hagel is confirmed melee.

Most of the meleers will PD against archers except for a few. Ones I do know that PD with each shot [Which I assume would be Level 2] are below:

  • Team Tir Chonaill
    • Ferghus
    • Trefor
  • Team Dunbarton
    • Admiral Owen
  • Team Bangor
    • Edern [Heaven forbid any archer attempts this one!]
    • Seamus
  • Team Emain Macha
    • Ahodhan
    • Begger
    • Lucas [Not so sure, but I think he might be Ranged PD Level 1. I don't always ping to him every hit.]
  • Team Tailteann
    • Andras
    • Karpfen [Archers should probably avoid her at all costs...]
  • Team Tara
    • Padan [For sure, this guy pings every shot]
    • Lileas [This one I'm not too sure since she dies before I can get to her...]
  • Team Iria Humans
    • Waboka [Pure evil... Think this guy also has Assault Slash and Final Hit]
  • Team Elves and Giants
    • Krug
    • Taunes
  • Team Boss
    • Fleta
    • Kristel
    • Price [Don't think archers should even attempt fighting this guy....]

A few notes on Fleta that I also saw on your page. The Thunder trick doesn't work when she gets stuck or "broken". I've had this happen several times in the last few runs. IS splash also doesn't work, and neither does FB splash. So... I'm unsure on what to say here...

Hope this helps, and I'll update a few more here and there once I get another set done tonight.

Lt. Jessie09:48, 16 February 2012

Thanks for the info, that's a huge amount of help since archery is the one thing I can't test easily. I rarely can get a decent team together so I almost never see Team Boss too. About Fleta's range ping though, I swear I saw my team mate spamming AR on her and she was stunning and pushing back from it (and teleporting behind him when she did push back).

Blargel21:02, 16 February 2012

Gonna drop a few more notes, this one pretty important for Dunbarton since I was rewatching a video I had captured for references and found that I had made some major errors in the giant chunk above when I read it this morning (Think I was half asleep writing it since it was after class). I'll get to others later since I didn't run as planned last night.

  • Simon is an alchemist type that uses Shock. Has no PDs.
  • Aranwen is a MELEE [I had her mixed up with Annick somehow... My mistake... <<;;;]. She has Natural Shield, but I'm unsure on Heavy Stander and Mana Reflector. She loves using Evasion, at least, when I'm fighting her.
  • Walter is an Archer [XBow] with no PDs to my knowledge. Uses Magnum Shot when given the opportunity.
  • Nerys is a MELEE [Again, a mix-up somewhere...]. She has Natural Shield, but I'm not sure of the other two PDs. She also uses Evasion quite a bit.
  • Stewart is a Mage is IS Immunity. No Heavy Stander or Natural Shield. Unsure about Mana Reflector.
  • Manus is the Healer. No PDs.
  • Admiral Owen is Melee. Unsure about Heavy Stander or Mana Reflector but has Natural Shield for sure.
  • Annick is an ARCHER [Bow]. This girl does have Crash Shot in her arsenal. No PDs to my understanding.

I have a small hypothesis that the Archers with bows are the ones that are equipped with Crash Shot due to the distance they can achieve over XBows. Perhaps both archer types may have CS, but so far, I'm only seeing the ones with bows using it. something to keep an eye out for to better collect data.

Lt. Jessie09:45, 17 February 2012

Thanks again. Corrected in the main page. As far as I can tell, archers seem to usually have heavy stander, meleers tend to have natural shield, and mages tend to have mana reflector. The head honcho of the team will usually have Ice Spear immunity as well, it seems. I'm guessing there is one Ice Spear immune NPC every team (besides boss) but I haven't found them all yet. I'll investigate this again this weekend.

Blargel17:59, 18 February 2012

I did some edits earlier for Team Bangor (I think... Just check revisions/history). Gonna be reviewing some more of the vids from the other team members who were with me, if they have it recorded. If not, I might ask a friend of mine in the TW servers to send me his notes and do some comparisons.

Lt. Jessie15:31, 19 February 2012
