Just ingredients or all items dropped? | 15 | 20:28, 12 July 2014 |
I'm getting skill training with ingredients and leathers dropping, but also things like...Small Green Gems, Fomor scrolls...
So are we going to add everything, or just ingredients? I noticed that leathers aren't on the list.
I think some testing with a character without this skill would be needed in order to test that...fortunately I can do that, however I do not have the Ingredient hunting skill to compare results. Course you could be just lucky...if it does indeed increase drop rate of other items as well then...I don't know what to say other than, "What is this nonsense"
According to JP, any item drop (excluding gold) will satisfy the training and does not increase drop rate of other items.
How come leather isn't included in the list? I've only seen Cheap Leather and Common Leather, no Fine, Finest, leather straps, or any equipment with the word "leather" on it.
I think it's limited to sheets of leather like Cheap/Common/Fine/Finest leathers and not the actual product leather can be made into.
I've not seen any Fine or Finest leathers drop either, and I've got about 30 stacks of the lesser qualities. Should the former two be removed from the list?
I'm pretty sure I got fine and finest leathers. The drop rate for those is just super low compared to cheap and common.
Could monster cp contribute to the variety of leather that drops due to ingredient hunting? Perhaps in the future people who add fine/finest leather drops to this list also include the monster that dropped it for verification. (monster drops themselves aren't necessarily complete)
I personally have yet to see fine and finest. Lets just leave it.
CP affecting monster drop seems like a rumor.
A question hardly qualifies as a rumor. Since we already know that stronger monsters can drop better leathers on their own (shadow monsters, kobold vs. goblin, etc), it's a valid avenue of investigation.
I think some monsters might drop certain ingredients more often than other kinds. Like, I spent all day ice spearing the mobs around the big rock near shyllien and got no soy sauce or blueberries, but then when I went to ant hell to kill things I got like 4 soy sauces and some blueberries in about 30 minutes. I think that would be something to look into more. I'm pretty sure I got finest leathers from a big range of cp like dire wolf to scathach monsters. Darn hard to test things lol.
The rumor Infodude was talking about is that general monster drops are affected by relative CP levels (weakest, weak, strong, awful, boss). I personally believe that to be false as well, but I don't know if any conclusive testing has been done.
Not a valid comparison. The different types of leathers are on different drop tables because the monsters are different. The drop table for ingredient hunting on the other hand is shared across all monsters.
I don't believe this is true either. Even if we did think it's true though, we'd need conclusive evidence in order to put it on the main pages.
Lastly, I've definitely seen fine leather from brown foxes but I don't know if I've seen finest. I'm still training stuff on brown foxes so I'll make a note if I see finest leather.
I can now vouch that Fine Leather drops, after god knows how many Cheap/Common I've gotten from this skill. Still looking out for Finest.
Thought I'd mention in here that I recently saw Finest Leather drop in Dorren's Request: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4234581/mabinogi/finest-leather-from-ingredient-hunting.jpg
Confirmed that all 4 types of leather belong on this list.
Finest dropped from a bandit... Fine/Finest seem to love dropping at oddly random times.
Should we make a mention on this page that they're pretty rare?
