It no longer works as it used to. Archive old page or redirect it?
Eh, we never archived anything else that doesn't get released (items, whateverelesetheremaybe).
I dunno.
We could do what the JP wiki did and Move the page and keep old data, but we could probably put it in a "show/hide" table thingy...not sure.
How to archive something we never got...? besides it's outdated anyways. Archive it as of G17S4...
To say we "never got it" is a bit harsh. We did get this skill, and its name is doppleganger.
The only difference is they made changes to it before it reached us...
KR developed shadow bunshin, not JP. They just gave it to JP. Dopple is just Shadow Bunshin 2.0.
Why we have Shadow Bunshin 1.0 on here is beyond me. I say get rid of it personally or archive it. Or basically merge shadow bunshin with dopple in terms of revision. Because Bunshin will never technically "exist" on this server.
Really, the shadow bunshin page should have been replaced with the doppleganger page, which would (should) have automatically archived it.
I vote archive.
Okay so.. proper Japanese would make it "Kage Bunshin." Proper English translating would make it "Shadow Clone(s)." More importantly though, from what I've heard.. it should just be "Bunshin," should it not? So I really Must ask. What is with the asinine name?
Shadow Bunshin is how DevCAT referred to it in a livechat and, I believe, it's also in KR's XMLs as its English name. (KR has both English and Korean names for skills, doesn't matter if they have the skill or not.)
As of this morning's update it looks like the NA name for this may be Doppelganger;

- This skill allows you to gather monster souls and turn them into clones to attack your enemies. If you have high Stamina, you can use it to inflict more damage on your enemy by making your dopplegangers more active. You must gather monster souls each time you use this skill.
Then let's make a page called Doppelganger for the hybrid skill version? (I think we should still archive this page and keep the Japanese/Chinese(?)/Taiwanese version's information on this page, instead of making a redirect to Doppelganger.)

2 things about the whole soul gathering thing, especially since it says "Souls are collected from deceased bodies, similar to Shadow Spirit."
1. Does the strength of the enemy effect the 'quality' of the soul or is a brown fox as valuable as a lion?
2. Does gathering souls consume stamina as well, or no?
I thought this was exclusive to Japan and Taiwan...Korea doesn't have this skill (Could be wrong and overlooked a korean update?), so maybe all the people wanting this skill made nexon of america to persuaded them for releasing this skill outside of those regions. Either way it's nice to know that it's coming here...eventually...
as for updating this page, you think I could put the training methods up here? I have a good idea with what they are but I don't want to post false/mistranslated methods...my Japanese is a bit rusty but I should be able to make some heads and tails out of it.
I'll try to put it in the words that nexon would translate it to. The wording would probably change once it gets here in g15.

I just wished this dumb server (NA) voted against it. Looking forward to all the glitches/bugs/exploits with this....
uhh are you talking about that one where...uhh no I must be thinking about another thing...there's a few bugs out there.
I've mentioned one on this thread. there's a variety of uses for it. but it is glitchy at times. Another one is if a monster teleports just as you teleport towards it, it'll miss entirely and the teleported monster can hit you.
this is not mabinogi KR and that was already covered in some poll on nexon main site by nexon NA, think it was like august 5th. it's going to happen.
The poll was taken from august 5th through the 16th of this year. it was one of 3 things that will be implemented this year sometime in the fall/winter? As far as I know, Nexon said that it will be released sometime during the next "big" update. and I agree with Kev on the skill being used to exploit bugs and such. There's quite a few from what I've seen while messing around with the skill. one of them was attacking an enemy from inside a wall (cause people try to help you kill it and it flies into the wall). not sure how that plays out but there have been instances that I'v gotten "stuck" lol

Rapier, Premium service revamp and Shadow Bunshin. as I recall, a new prem service is in the works. rapier only got 9% while bunshin and service revamp was neck and neck at 33/33 i believe... don't feel like looking for the poll...I only wish people voted on the moon festival dress .w.
Probably not, but there is no way we can be sure. A lot of people also said we won't get the reforge system. Although, the reforge system got a lot less bad feedback than Shadow Bunshin. At the moment there's a 50:50 percent chance as I see it. You probably should talk about this on a forum rather than a wiki.
All right, will do. Nice name btw ;o. Though I do remember a small ask the devs thing on this wiki awhile back that confirmed adding bunshin...
- This skill ignores protection when calculating damage and critical chance.
- Defense and Counterattack have no effect on Shadow Bushin.
- The skill can hit flying Blinkers.
- The skill can be used on an enemy under the effects of Ice Spear.

Well not exactly. If it's all you have left, then yea, all of it is depleted. other wise if you have leftover spirit, you can do it again in succession(?). I've never used it more than once, then typically combo up with another strategy.
- Completely ignores the Protection Stat.
- Completely ignores Defense and Counterattack.
- Hit Blinkers in Flight.
- Hits Ice Speared enemies.
Overpowered much?
Also, wouldn't it apply to all flying enemies? Like, use Shadow Clone Jutsu on a Red Dragon using Thunder and it'll hit?
Never attempted but I have asked and most told me that it just executes with no damage dealt. never tried it myself. recently uninstalled the JP client off my computer so I wouldn't be able to test it if i could x.x;
Although it is over powered, it does a set amount of damage iirc. and you'd have to have enough souls to pull it off anyways and the soul count doesn't exactly stay on you when Channel changing/log out.
It doesn't hit flying blinkers anymore.
90% of this information is outdated to the current JP skill.
The damage formula of this skill is based moreso on stamina than anything else.
I do recall that it no longer works on blinkers, however I have seen people get around it a little. probably some modders/hackers or something...but this was about 2 months ago. Since i've stopped playing in the JP servers, i can't really verify that. probably will go back someday, but not anytime soon for sure.
