- The Pelican is essentially the same as the Thunderbird.
With its long beak and distinctive pouch underneath, this large water bird known as the Pelican is extremely unique. Using its long and wide wings, along with its strong webbed feet, the Pelican can fly through the skies with great ease.
So, what are Pelicans like in Erinn? As you've probably already guessed from the red velvet saddle on their back, Pelicans in Erinn have the special ability to fly while carrying their masters on their back.
However, flying is something that requires a high level of concentration and alertness, as many factors such as wind, humidity, temperature, topography, fog and sometimes even Palala and Eweca's gravitation can affect flight. Due to these concerns, Pelicans don't like to fly in unfamiliar territory outside of their habitat in Iria.
Because the Pelican is known to sacrifice everything to raise its young, it is sometimes viewed as a symbol of unconditional love and sacrifice. With a big spot for affection, seen through their charming tendencies, the Pelican is a very loyal pet that helps its master with MP and Attack rate. The Pelican has the ability to seat two riders, which is one of the many reasons why it is highly recommended for those who like to travel to Erinn with a friend or wish to own a more imposing flying creature. At your command, the ever-trustworthy Pelican will be prepared to ascend high into the skies.
