Talk to Ferghus
[You answer Ferghus's request by paying him a visit.]
Ferghus
Hey, haven't seen you for a while, CharacterName.
Not that I blame you. There's so much to see and do in the world!
- Continue
Say, can you do me a favor?
I hear there's a really good blacksmith in Taillteann.
(To top it off, she's a young girl!)
I want to send her a gift.
- Continue
Being a blacksmith is tough.
You have to keep trudging forward,
no matter how many times your hands slip
and people glare at you.
- Continue
If you head to Taillteann, can you give her
this pair of special Blacksmith Gloves?
They're mine, but I hardly ever wear them
because I don't really need them.
Thanks.
- End Conversation
- Receive Ferghus's Blacksmith Gloves
Deliver Ferghus's Gloves
[You enter the Shadow Realm in Taillteann through the Stonehenge. You then immediately find yourself within the Town Square of Taillteann in the Shadow Realm, where Leymore also happens to be. You decide to speak to him.]
Leymore
You're here to see the new Blacksmith in Tailteann[sic]?
You must mean...Jenna!
Surprised? Me, too. She's gotten really into Blacksmithing.
She's even traveled to Bangor to learn
from a famous Blacksmith named Edern.
- Continue
To be honest, I don't see the appeal of hot metal and heavy hammers,
but Jenna seems happy, which is good enough for me.
You say you have a gift for her from a Blacksmith named...Ferghus?
Don't know him... Must be a nice guy, though, reaching out to Jenna and all.
- Continue
Jenna's nearby. I have to stay in the Shadow Realm
to work on my Alchemy research, and she's been staying with me.
I'm sure she'll be thrilled to see you.
- End Conversation
[Having spoken to Leymore, you head to the Alchemist House, where you find Jenna.]
Jenna
CharacterName! It's been a while?[sic] How are you?
What? You saw Leymore on your way here?
I haven't seen him all morning...
I suppose he went chasing after more Alchemy ingredients.
- Continue
So, surprised to find that I've traded my weapons for a hammer
and taken up Blacksmithing? I'm really enjoying it!
I'm even thinking of training to become a master Blacksmith!
Even when I was helping Leymore with his Alchemy experiments,
I just couldn't stop hammering things.
- Continue
Say, do you have anything that needs to be repaired?
I'll do it for free. I need practice.
I'm not that good yet, so don't give me anything too expensive.
[Choice Fork]

- Give Gloves
Jenna
This is from Ferghus? Ferghus from Tir Chonaill?
When I was in the Temple Knights, he ruined one of my weapons!
It was a huge inconvenience, fighting with a broken weapon...
I'll keep these gloves as a reminder to practice hard,
so that I do NOT end up like Ferghus...
- Continue
In any case, CharacterName, ever heard of the Royal Court banquet?
Leymore and I were invited to a banquet
sponsored by the Aliech Regime...
I've never been to a fancy banquet before.
I'm not sure how to prepare for it...
- Continue
Leymore says just to be myself, but I don't know...
It doesn't seem enough.
I suspect I've been hiding out in the Shadow Realm
partially to escape the reality of this upcoming banquet [sic]
- End Conversation
- Repair Item
Jenna
Please show me the weapon that needs repair.
I'm still just learning, so forgive me if I make a mistake.
- End Conversation
[Upon receiving a successful repair]
Jenna
It's been repaired perfectly.
This is your lucky day!
- End Conversation
[Upon receiving a partial repair]
Jenna

Talk to Eluned
[You head to the Clothing Shop in Tara to talk to Eluned.]
Eluned
You're here! Excellent. Leymore told me about Jenna.
It's touching to see how much he loves her.
Now, this matter is a delicate one.
Leymore doesn't wish to hurt Jenna's pride,
yet he knows how harshly people are judged at Royal Court banquets.
- Continue
So he's asked for my assistance, and I, in turn, require yours.
Jenna's charismatic, but her looks aren't quite formal enough.
However, once we get her into a smashing outfit,
she'll fit right in.
- Continue
Here, I wore this dress when I was younger.
Retro's all the rage right now, so Jenna will be right on trend.
This dress just needs a few tweaks to modernize it,
and we'll need to change the colors to match
Jenna's beautiful darker skin tone.
- Continue
Head to Emain Macha and find Ailionoa,
the head designer of Tre'imhse Cairde.
She's the one designer I truly respect.
Please ask her to fix up this dress,
and then bring it back to me.

Deliver the Dress to Ailionoa
[By Eluned's instructions, you head to Emain Macha's Clothing Shop to bring the dress to Ailionoa.]
Ailionoa
Welcome. You're the one Eluned mentioned?
She told me what you need, and it won't be easy.
Eluned has too high an opinion of me.
It will take time. I will get in touch with you when
the alterations are complete.

Talk to Ailionoa
[After waiting for some time, you return to Ailionoa to pick up the dress.]
Ailionoa
Here it is. I'm sorry it took so long.
I'm overwhelmed with work because of the Royal Castle Banquet...
- Continue
Please tell Eluned that I said hello.
Now, be careful you[sic] not to wrinkle it.
I put it in a box just in case.
- Continue
Deliver the Dress to Eluned
[You return to Eluned, boxed dress in hand.]
Eluned
Ailionoa's as talented as ever, I see.
Such wonderful detailing, and the color is simply divine.
Thank you, this dress will do excellently.
Next, we must work on Jenna's etiquette.
- Continue
The Royal Court is full of strange formalities,
and no book covers them as well as Allestru's Guide to Etiquette.
It was written by the late Marquis Allestru,
who passed away recently after falling off a horse.
Jenna should find it most useful.
- Continue
I've requested a copy of the book from Buchanan,
but he's off gallivanting about in the Shadow Realm.
Can you go get the book from him?
- End Conversation
Meet with Buchanan
[You head to the Stonehenge in Tara. Upon entering the Shadow Realm, you find yourself within Rath Royal Castle's Second Floor, where multiple Rats are present. You annihilate the rats, then pick up the library key that drops from one. Next, you enter the Royal Library where Buchanan is.]
Buchanan
My, my, that Countess Eluned is an impatient one.
I was on my way to delivering the book to her in just a little bit...
She didn't need to put you through all that trouble.
Nonetheless, thank you for your help. I really hate rats...
- Continue
I'm glad that you're all helping Jenna.
I was actually planning to see her soon myself.
I have a new periodical called Blacksmith's Melody
that I thought she might be interested it.[sic]
Don't worry, though. I'll give it to her myself.
- OK
[Upon initiating conversation with Buchanan afterwards]
Buchanan
This is a dangerous place! Why are you here?
Eh, you came to help who?
Why don't you come help me search
for an ancient book some other time.

Talk to Eluned
[After receiving the book from Buchanan, you return to Eluned.]
Eluned
Wonderful. Now, we must work on Jenna's skin.
For someone who spends her time on the battlefield,
Jenna has decent enough skin.
But it's nothing compared to the soft, supple skin of ladies
who spend their days doing little more than moisturizing.
- Continue
But I know of a way. See my youthful-looking skin?
There's a secret to how I keep it so soft and wrinkle-free.
I hate to reveal my secret, but for Jenna, I shall.
- Continue
I use a special lotion. A miracle potion, if you ask me.
Go to Lileas and tell her I'm asking for another batch of lotion.
She'll know what you mean.
- End Conversation
Talk to Lileas
[You go to the Jousting Arena to ask Lileas about the lotion.]
Lileas
You say Eluned sent you? Hm, did she really...?
Well, my Honey Lotion does work wonders,
but I'm running a business here.
If you want some, you'll have to trade me for it.
- Continue
I've been selling so many cups of my Honey Drink lately
that I'm almost out of honey. Get me 5 jars of Honey,
and I'll give you a bottle of my special lotion.
And remember, I'm only selling you the lotion
because Eluned requested it...
- End Conversation
Deliver 5 Honeys to Lileas
[You collect 5 jars of Fresh Honey from the Honeycombs within Corrib Valley. Once that is done, you return to Lileas.]
Lileas
Just in time! I'm all out of Honey.
Now that you've done your part, you've earned the lotion.
But I'll deliver the lotion directly to Eluned myself. No offense.
You can ask her about whether I delivered it if you don't trust me.
- End Conversation
Talk to Eluned
[You return to Eluned to tell her the news.]
Eluned
Lileas wishes to deliver it herself? Ah, clever little thing.
That way, she keeps her promise yet still fulfils the request.
That's fine. I will hand the potion to Jenna myself,
once Lileas delivers it...
Now, it looks like Jenna is ready for the banquet!

- Continue
Padan
[You decide to ask Padan for details about the banquet.]
Padan
The Royal Court banquet is a fabulous party
sponsored by the Aliech Regime to honor the Royal Alchemists.
Once I heard Countess Eluned was going, I called in a favor
with my friend Keith to get myself an invitation.
- Continue
And yes, I do remember a girl named Jenna.
I'm surprised Keith said he doesn't remember her.
There was quite a funny incident involving her...
- Continue
[Cutscene]
[People are gathered at the Royal Court Banquet, including many familiar faces from Tara. Leymore and a formally-dressed Jenna enter the room, capturing the attention of all the guests present. Eventually, while the other guests are entertained by Lileas' dancing, Keith walks over to Jenna, who is talking to Leymore.]
Keith
Okay. Ready.

May the lady decide which of us is the better man.

Talk to Andras
[By Andras' request, you pay her a visit.]
Andras
Claimh Solas was destroyed, yet I've gotten reports
that people have seen him.
The reports are too detailed to be ignored.
I've notified headquarters and am starting an investigation.
- Continue
According to Dorren's Alchemy research,
the Erg in the Shadow Realm are growing increasingly unstable.
Sinead from the Royal Castle recommended
we seek assistance from the Shadow Hero.
Please head to Rath Royal Castle immediately.
- End Conversation
Talk to Sinead
[By Andras' orders, you speak to Sinead in the Reception Room of Rath Royal Castle.]
Sinead
As soon as the report from the
Taillteann Expeditionary Force arrived,
the Aliech Regime began
an independent investigation.
- Continue
Thanks to the results of Dorren's tests,
we traced the flow of Erg backwards to find traces of a large Alchemy experiment.
- Continue
After Helvetius's death, who was at the center
of the Arat Alchemist Society,
we assumed that the Corrupted Alchemists would weaken.
But it seems they're the ones behind this Alchemy experiment.
- Continue
Now, if this Alchemy experiment is at all related
to the transmutation of Claimh Solas,
the Royal Regime may be forced to make a very difficult decision.
- Continue
CharacterName, I need to[sic] you to perform your duty as a Royal Alchemist,
and find out the truth about what's going on in the Shadow Realm.
The Royal Alchemists have been gathered to help you.
Should you require it, please request their help.

I will give you the Shadow Mission again.

Investigating the Royal Castle Shadow Realm
[You enter the Shadow Realm via the Stonehenge in Tara. There, in the Royal Castle in the Shadow Realm, you take down waves of enemies in each of the rooms. Very soon, you enter the Boss Room.]

[End of Cutscene]
Talk to Sinead
[You return to Sinead to report what you witnessed.]
Sinead
So the rumors surrounding Claimh Solas turned out to be true.
The Corrupted Alchemists won't end their experiments so easily.
We've received intelligence that another transmutation is being prepared.

Talk to Sinead
[You talk to Sinead again.]
Sinead
So the death of Helvetius, leader of the Corrupted Alchemists,
weakened the Arat Alchemist Society so drastically
that it pushed them to desperate measures,
ultimately causing them to attempt the transmutation
of Claimh Solas.
- Continue
We cannot discern how far they've advanced
in their Homunculus transmutation abilities,
but we've confirmed they are planning another Claimh Solas transmutation attempt soon.
- Continue
We need to discover the location of the experiment
and prevent it from happening.
We need Cai's help. While he's no longer a Royal Alchemist,
I'm sure he will not stand idly by while the kingdom's in danger.
- End Conversation
Request Cai's Help
[You head to the Royal Castle in the Shadow Realm to look for Cai. After defeating the enemies in the rooms of the castle, you hear Cai.]
Onscreen Message: I'll be waiting for you in the room at the eastern corner.
[You head to the room Cai indicated and meet him.]
Cai
I've long suspected someone might attempt to transmutate Claimh Solas. The[sic] great Nuadha, known as the king of the Gods, wielded[sic] Claimh Solas as
a weapon. It's[sic] a power too great for humans to dream of touching.
- Continue
During the First Battle of Mag Tuireadh,
Nuadha wielded Claimh Solas to defend humanity,
losing his arm in the process.
- Continue
But when the battle ended, no one remembered his sacrifice.
In fact, the people mocked him as a cripple,
and chased him out of power.
- Continue
Then the Fomors attacked, and the Second Battle
of Mag Tuireadh began. Again, the humans were terrified.
They cried for Nuadha's aid, and again, Nuadha rushed to us.
He returned with Airgetlam, an artificial arm,
and defended those who had forsaken him.
- Continue
Humanity is indeed faithless, for again we betrayed Nuadha.
He, the great God who defended us twice, died
at the hands of Cromm Cruaich while we did nothing.
- Continue
I intend to prevent the transmutation of Claimh Solas,
so that Nuadha's death will not have been in vain.
I've discovered where the Corrupted Alchemists
are performing their experiments....
Rath Royal Castle's underground waterway.
- Continue
It is closed off at the moment,
but with permission from the Aliech Royal Regime,
we should be able to get inside.
- End Conversation
Talk to Sinead
[You return to Sinead to share the information from Cai.]
Sinead
The Claimh Solas transmutation attempts were taking place
in a secret location in the Rath Royal Castle the entire time?!
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.
You see, the Aliech Regime does not officially recognize
the existence of that underground waterway...
- Continue
A very long time ago, when the Rath Royal Castle was being built,
they ran into difficulties. Building a waterway
at such a high elevation was almost impossible
with the technology of that time.
- Continue
While the engineers were scratching their heads,
four brother[sic] showed up and astoundingly built the waterway
in a single day.
- Continue
However, it was soon discovered that the four brothers
were Fomors. They planned to offer the castle to Balor,
king of the Fomors. They even constructed a statue of Balor
in the underground waterway...
- Continue
When the king learned of this, he was greatly angered.
He had the statue destroyed and the four brother[sic] executed.
The entrance to the waterway was then closed off.
- Continue
Now, if the Claimh Solas experiments were taking place
in the underground waterway, we have to wonder whether
the Corrupted Alchemists and the Fomors are working together.
- Continue
We haven't a moment to waste.
I will issue you a Royal Court Pass
to enter the underground waterway.
Please stop the Corrupted Alchemists
from transmutating Claimh Solas.
- End Conversation
- Receive Underground Waterway Pass
Defeat Claimh Solas
[You take the pass given to you by Sinead and enter the Shadow Realm. There, you meet Cai.]
Cai
I came early because I wanted to check on something.
The flow of Erg in the waterway has shifted...
That could mean the transmutation of Claimh Solas
is approaching its final stages.
- Continue
They say the entrance to the secret room
that connects to the waterway is disguised as a closet.
A Fomor password must be spoken to access the waterway.
In any case, we must hurry!
- Continue
Okay, let's go.
- End Conversation
[Upon initiating conversation with Cai afterwards]
Cai
We better hurry.
- OK
[You and Cai make your way through the castle. Soon, you discover a room with a treasure chest. You open the chest and receive a Secret Note. You then enter the following room, where the closet closet Cai mentioned stands. Using the note you previously received, you recite the passcode on it. The closet doors open, allowing you and Cai to pass beyond. After entering the closet, you find yourselves in another room with a floor with an odd design. You recite the passcode again, causing the floor to reveal a stairway. You then head down the stairway leading to the underground waterway.]
Cai
We've finally made it to the underground waterway.
But I sense a change in the flow of Erg...
We may be too late.
The transmutation of Claimh Solas may already be done.
- Continue
Okay, let's go.
- End Conversation
[You and Cai travel through the waterway, defeating the enemies in the rooms that come up. Eventually, you reach the Boss Room.]
[Cutscene]
[A hostile Claimh Solas stands in the Boss Room, poised to attack.]
[End of Cutscene]
[You and Cai are left with no choice but to annihilate the transmutated Claimh Solas. You both engage in battle with it until it is defeated.]
[Cutscene]
[You rush into the Gate Hall of the Royal Castle in the Shadow Realm, where Cai is.]
Cai
That was a great battle, CharacterName.
The Corrupted Alchemists won't be able to perform
any transmutations for a while!
- Continue
CharacterName
But, Cai... I doubt that this is the end of it.
What we've discovered from this incident
is that the Fomors are not the only ones
threatening peace in Shadow Realm.
- Continue
The Royal Alchemists need you.
Please re-join them...
- Continue
Cai
I've given a lot of thought to that issue.
I may have chosen not to take the road of a Royal Alchemist,
but that doesn't mean that I don't want to defend the Shadow Realm...
- Continue
You know, CharacterName. I think you may be right.
We can't stand against enemies if we're not united.
- Continue
Yes, I think, given another chance,
I would choose to re-join the Royal Alchemists.
- Continue
[You and Cai walk towards the entrance of the castle.]
