Talent | Talent description |
---|---|
Adventure | The adventure talent is made of the basic skills a player needs to survive in the wild all while exploring their surroundings. This talent cannot be chosen on character creation. |
Archery | The archery talent focuses on taking out the enemy from afar with either a Bow or a Crossbow. Elves may mount a Pet which can do combat in order to shoot arrows, and may run while a skill is loaded. This talent is unavailable to Giant characters. |
Battle Alchemy | Battle Alchemy is the more combat-focused aspect of Alchemy, with Transmutation being its counterpart. It uses four elements: Wind, Fire, Water, and Earth. The various skills may make use of one or more elements. One can become an accomplished alchemist and enlist to become a Royal Alchemist. |
Carpentry | Carpentry is a life-based talent focused on working with wood and handicrafts. |
Chain Slasher | The Chain Slash talent makes use of a Chain Blade. It consumes Dorcha, to power up its skills. A good use of Dorcha will allow you to land more hits in a timely manner. |
Close Combat | Close Combat is the main staple of combat in Mabinogi, and acts as its core. Unlike other talents, many of the skills included in the Close Combat talent are also used for other talents, and will give talent experience to them as well. Understanding Close Combat's mechanics will help you make your way though battle. |
Cooking | The cooking talent is everything about food; from gathering ingredients to making varied dishes. |
Glyphwright | The glyphwright talent makes use of magic paper and custom sigils in order to strengthen oneself or their party. It is primarily a crafting talent. |
Dual Gun | The Gunslinger talent makes use of Bullets to deal with enemies. Different guns have a different amount of bullets they may hold, as well as differing attack ranges. See Dual Guns List for more information. |
Holy Arts | The holy arts talent focuses on defensive magic and recovery. The combative application of magic is the Magic talent, and some of the Holy Arts talent skills are shared with it. |
Lance Combat | The Lance Combat talent, also known as the Knight talent, focuses on wielding a lance in battle. The talent may be used while mounted on a Pet which can do combat, and giant characters are able to use a shield while wielding a lance due to their bigger size. This talent is unavailable to Elf characters. |
Magic | The magic talent focuses on offensive magic to deal with many enemies at once. All skills primarily consume Mana. The non-combat application of magic is the Holy Arts talent, and some of the Magic talent skills are shared with it. |
Martial Arts | Martial Arts, also known as the Fighter talent, is a talent specialized in one-on-one combat. It makes use of combos to battle the enemy. |
Medicine | The medicine talent is a production talent focused on making potions of different kinds with herbs. |
Mercantile | The mercantile talent, also known as merchant talent, is centered on making the most out of the Commerce system. |
Music | The music talent revolves around one using an instrument to give passive buffs to their party. It also allows players to compose their own music through MML notation. |
Ninja | Ninjas use shurikens and kunais in order to swiftly deal with enemies from a distance. The weapons they use do not use ammunition, unlike its other ranged talent counterparts. The talent is as a whole focused on utility, as it boasts many skills that affect the flow of combat. |
Pet Training | Pet training is a talent centered around the player's pets and Fynni, fairy souls imbued within a living being. The talent is centered around nurturing and growing the pets's Fynni in order to make them grow stronger. |
Puppetry | The Puppetry talent is a combat-oriented talent that focuses on the use of puppets to go into battle. The puppets may be independantly controlled from the player by pressing Alt+Left Mouse Click. |
Smithing | Smithing is a life-based talent focused on working with metals and creating all kinds of equipment. |
Tailoring | Tailoring is a life-based talent focused on creating clothes with wool and silk. Most of the basic materials used in tailoring may be obtained from General Shop stores, but more advanced materials may require making them yourself. |
Transmutation | Transmutation, also known as Construct Alchemy, is the more life-focused aspect of Alchemy, with Battle Alchemy being its counterpart. Steam Ovens and Dry Ovens are the tools with which a Construct Alchemist may do their research. One can become an accomplished alchemist and enlist to become a Royal Alchemist. |
