Pets are companion animals that can be summoned to assist the player.

Obtaining Pets

  • Pets can be purchased with NX from the Premium Shop in the game's Web Shop.
    • After purchasing a pet, the chosen Pet Character Card will appear, allowing you to create that pet by clicking the "New Pet" option.
  • Pets can also be obtained through quests. For a complete list of these pets, see Quest Pets.
  • In addition, pets can also be obtained through events. For a complete list of these pets, see Event Pets.
  • The maximum number of pets one can have on one account is determined by the number of characters the player already has. Each character, pet, and mini-pet (temporary pets obtained using Item Shop whistles) contributes towards the Character Limit, which is currently set to 200.
  • All pets have a unique random color tint and/or shade, which is based on the current in-game time, similar to how random colors appear on newbie wears for characters.
  • Some pets are also color-selectable, allowing the user to change certain colors of the pet.
    • However, pets obtained through events are not color-selectable and will appear with a random color once created.
    • Color-selectable pets can be dyed with the use of a Pet Dye Ampoule.
  • Most pets come with a book called Your Pet in their inventory when created or reborn.

Summoned Pets

  • To summon the pet in-game, type "Summon {Pet Name}!" or "{Pet Name}" summon! in the all chat.
    • To dismiss a pet, type "Return!" or "Disappear" in all chat.
    • Alternatively, you can click "Cancel Summon" in the pet menu or from right-clicking the pet, or set up an cancel summon hotkey.
  • You can also open the pet menu, click on the pet, and then click "Summon".
  • The first ten pets from top to bottom in the pet menu can be summoned through hotkeys; the order can be adjusted by clicking on the pet, clicking "Sort", and then pressing the arrow keys.
  • Pets can also be summoned by dragging their icon from the pet menu and placing it on the hotkey bars.
  • Each pet has a summon time which dictates how long they can be summoned each real-life day.
    • The time is separated for each individual pet and does not affect another pet of the same time.
    • Their summon time is refreshed at 7:00am PST.
  • When the timer runs out, the pet is automatically dismissed and cannot be summoned again until it refreshes.

Pet Role-Play

  • Players have the ability to log-in as their pet.
  • The pet will log in where it was last summonned.
    • Be aware that the pet's summon time will still decrease while playing.
  • While playing as a pet, if left idle, the pet will walk around and sit/stand indepedantly of the player's actions.
  • If the pet can be normally ridden, other player characters may ride the player playing as a pet.
    • A party must be created to allow this.
  • Pet players have access to the pet's inventory, perks and skills as usual.
    • This includes run boost and flight abilities.
    • However, the skill loading times remain those that were in place before the Genesis update.
  • The Moon Gates, while logged in as a pet, use the G11 destination system.
    • The Moon gates that were added through the Starlet update cannot be used by pets.
    • See Moon Gate Timetable for information relative to the destination rotation.
  • Areas requiring a cleared questline such as Mag Mell are inaccessible through normal means.
    • This can be circumvented by preemptively summonning the pet in the cut-off area before logging in as the pet.
  • Players playing as pets generally cannot speak to NPCs.
  • You cannot trade with non-pet players, or summon any other pets while playing as one.

Pet RP and dungeons

  • Pet players retain the ability to join or create parties and enter Dungeons like normal characters.
  • Clearing a Uladh Dungeon in Normal difficulty while playing as a pet will earn you bonus experience for clearing.
    • Clearing any other dungeon or any difficulty besides Normal will not give you a clear bonus.
    • You must be a member of the party which created the dungeon. Entering another player's dungeon by dropping the same item will not work.
      • However, it is possible to save summon time by allowing your party to create the dungeon, then logging out with the pet. As long as you rejoin with the same item before the dungeon is cleared, you will still get the reward EXP.
    • The bonus experience are:
Alby Ciar Math Barri Coil Fiodh Rundal Peaca
150,000 200,000 500,000 1,000,000 2,000,000 3,000,000 5,000,000 7,000,000

Leveling, Aging, and Skills

  • Similar to player characters, pets can level up.
    • While summoned a pet gains 25% of the experience their masters earn in battle.
    • When playing as a pet, they gain full experience plus a percentage based on the type of pet.
  • Like players, pets age-up on Samhain (Saturday).
  • Each pet has their own stat gain from leveling-up and aging.
    • The stat gain will gradually decrease as a pet age, eventually reaches to 0.
    • It is best to level up the pet at a young age to maximize stat gain.
  • Using Divine Link on a pet will significantly increase their stats and grant them 100% experience earned from their masters.
    • In addition, any aggro generated by their master is automatically redirected to their pet.
  • Significant experience can also be obtained via the Pet Expedition System.
  • For every 10 levels, Pets will gain 15 Pet Points.
    • Pet Points are used to unlock and rank up Pet Perks
      • Pet Perks can be unlocked by rebirthing the pet with Pet Rebirth Points.
      • The pet must be level 100 to unlock a Pet Perk
      • Only one Pet Perk can be active in one life.
    • Pet Points must be converted in order to use them. They can be converted by pressing the triangle icon on the pet's info menu.
    • Converted Pet Points is shared between all pets.
  • Unlike player characters, their skills cannot be chosen.
    • Pet's skills will automatically rank up when they reach a specific level.
    • It depends on the pet, but typically most skills will reach a maxium of rank 6.
  • Most pet skills can be set to a hotkey as shortcuts.
  • All pets recieves the Shine of Eweca skill, which will grow stronger base on the pet's total level.

  • Similar to player characters, pets can rebirth, retaining the same name, skills, and skill ranks.
  • The stats from the pets previous lives will be applied if its greater than its current stats.
    • You can compare by hoving your mouse over the pet's stats.
    • Stats from the previous and current lives does not stack.
  • There's two methods in rebirthing a pet:

Method 1: Using a Pet Character Card.

  • You must already own a Pet character card to use this method.
    • With a Pet Character Card on hand, you can select the Rebirth option in the character select screen.
    • You can use a Pet Character Card of a different species of pet, which changes that pet to the according species of the card.
    • Some pet skills can be transfered when changing species.
    • Skills exclusive to the pet cannot be transferred, such as Produce Cobweb.
    • Some transferred skills, such as Windmill or Thunder, cannot be used by certain pets.
    • The stats from the pets previous lives won't transferred over to a new species (besides stats from skills).
    • You must wait at least one week since your last rebirth.

  • As a rule of thumb, pets released after Kokopo (2016) cannot be chosen for this rebirth method, as Kokopo was the last Pet Character Card distributed and Pet Whistles became the prevalent distribution method.
    • The only Pet Character Cards that may be obtained are through the Pets section of the Web Shop, which are direct purchases.
    • Pet Gachapons will always give out Pet Whistles.
    • Some exceptions include pets that are reskins of the original ones that can be rebirthed, such as the Support Pets that can be obtained from the Dungeon Guide.
    • However, pets that are too different from their source, such as the Space Cadet Fairy, which does not count as an 'original' fairy pet, thus cannot use this system.
  • It is not recommended you rebirth pets through this option, as the other Pet Points system is not affected by it.

Method 2: Using Pet Rebirth Points

  • Collecting 10,000 pet rebirth points will allow you to rebirth your pet by clicking the icon next to the "Percentage" meter.
    • These are the methods of collecting pet rebirth points:

  • Rebirthing a pet whose current level is 100 or higher can unlock a Pet Perk at the cost of 5 Pet Points.
    • You can choose not to unlock a pet perk.
  • Only one Pet Perk can be active, but you can switch to a different pet perk when rebirthing with pet rebirth points.

  • Pets have their own inventory space which varies in size depending on the type of pet.
    • Items can be stored in pet's inventory and can be moved to other characters in the account.
  • Pets can be given a command to execute certain actions or skills.
  • Pet AI can be customize to react to situations in a specific way.
  • Pets can be used to watch Personal Shop, which keeps the shop open without a Personal Shop Brownie.
    • While managing the shop, the pet's summon time will not decrease.
    • However, the player cannot summon any other pets to help in battle and access their inventory.
    • Dismissing the pet will automatically closes the shop.
    • While the pet's inventory cannot be accessed, the player may search what it has by right-clicking the pet and selecting "Search Inventory", which is case-sensitive.
  • After a extended amount of time, pets will give a Companion Bonus, giving the owner based on the pet's species and age.
    • The stat bonus will gradually decreases as the pet ages.
  • Most pets cannot fight while the owner is mounted on them.
  • You can gather herbs, wool, milk, and cobwebs from certain pets.
  • Some pets have unique skills that is preformed when summoned.
  • The Interaction Crafter can allow you to personalize your pet, having them react with messages or animations to certain situations.
    • The Interaction Crafter can be access from the pet menu.

  • Pet hunger can reach up until 10%; the system message will say the pet is "very hungry."
  • When defeating a monster, pets will leave a "Finish" above the enemy's head for the owner, unless Summons Finish Automatically is enabled.
  • When opening the pet's status window (by right-clicking the pet and selecting "View Status"), a bell sound will ring and the pet will immediately head toward the owner.
  • Pets may earn titles if certain conditions are met. These pet titles have no effect on the pet's stats, however.
    • These titles usually only last for the duration of time in which the pet has been summoned. However, titles like "the Fashionista" can be permanent, so long as the requirements are met each time the pet has been summoned.
  • Players can warp players to other locations by having them mount the pet and then use a warp method (e.g. Continent Warp). The owner must be dismounted.
    • Players can warp a person to their original location by going into Avon via Avon Feather, having the player mount the pet, and then leave Avon.
  • Pets are automatically dismissed upon starting Commerce or nearing an Iria Raid field and cannot be summoned during such instances.
  • Pets cannot have active totems in their inventory, unless they are pet totems.

Pet Types

  • All Pets have four Pet Types assigned to them.
  • Having specific combinations of types in a party will apply up to two buffs.
  • Specific types will aid in completing Pet Expeditions
  • Specific combinations of race types will activate specific buffs.
    • With at least two different race types, Harmony of Curiosity will be applied.
    • With at least two race types of the same kind, Harmony of Delight will be applied.
  • The more applicable pets are summoned per buff, the stronger the effect becomes.
  • Party members have to be in the same region as the leader to obtain the buff.
  • For more information, see Pet Harmony.
