Episode 4 - Mystic Training: The Ritual

Shamala persuades Millia to go to The Holy Land of Shamans, where the shamans-in-training may have answers of Akule's whereabouts, who mysteriously disappeared during the fight with Bhafel, if not they can at least train her and continue where Akule left her off. Upon arrival, they see Demote, who bears a striking resemblance to Akule, and Millia tries to charge at him, but Demote stops them, claiming that he was given the mask by Akule and wears it because it reminds him of Akule's great wisdom, much to Millia's dismay.

Demote then asks Shamala and the Milletian, who had partied with the two female shamans, to leave, as they are considered to be strangers. Shamala then begs Demote to train Millia, and he reluctantly agrees after seeing Akule's Eagle Mask, proof that she was once mentored by Akule before he vanished. But first, Millia must undertake the rite of initiation, like all shamans.

After passing the rite of initiation, Demote realizes Millia's true potential and her connection to the divine, but notes that only Akule can control it. Demote then hands Millia over to Lelach, albeit disgusted about doing so due to Lelach's insane personality, before leaving.

Trivia

• Demote has the same in-game model as Akule, only with darker skin.
• When starting a conversation with him on the Refusal and the Lost Knowledge Quest of Iria: Episode 4 - Mystic Training: The Ritual, Akule's NPC Portrait appears for a few responses.
