Mabi Forums guide Since this guide is currently incomplete, here's a link to a guide up on the forums. Someone can use that as a guide to finish this guide, or just use it until this one is finished.--Erwing 00:35, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Translated from official Korean guide. Since item names, keywords, and quest names will most likely differ from NA version, please edit them as you progress through Generation 3. Thanks. --Uchocobo 16:15, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Did someone accidentally skip a part of the quest? I remember being told that you have to do ciar and alby --Sinnoaria 17:36, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

Unable to complete the side-quest

I've received reports recently from few users that were unable to complete the side quest to obtain the charm of protection. I speculate they skipped the event where you have to see Eavan's/Aodhan's past. Can anyone doing G3 quest verify this? --Uchocobo 03:28, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

the information for the quest says u have to do it after reciveing the pass from tarlach, not after completeing the npcs past quest like you said here, witch is it?Sozen Cratos Focker 08:29, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Clarification on the use of "can't"

"Please be aware that you can't talk, trade or retrieve lost items from Aodhan or Eavan once you finish this quest."

People often use 'can't' interchangeably with 'may not', even though they shouldn't. So I'm asking if its intended meaning is "you will not be able to" or "do not do this or else." I bring this up since I did manage to bring up the usual options when talking to Eavan after completing the quest (officially by clicking the Complete button) and before starting the Baol Infiltration dungeon. -- Finiraldi 04:46, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Should we add The dungeon stuff here?

Some dungeons like Peaca for g3 don't abide by the rules or the normal dungeon. Should we post the information here or on the dungeon pages themselves?--Trickybomb 05:03, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Keep a general description of the dungeon here. Keep the specifics, like monster spawns, on the dungeon page. ---Angevon 19:01, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Toned down version

since the toned down version isnt in the NA version of Mabi yet, shouldnt the guild conform to what is currently in NA? TGFL

What does the guild have to do with this? --Lonetalker 07:45, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Tone down?

I heard from someone that NA will not apply the toned down version of Generation 3. Can anyone confirm this? --Kevin 21:56, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Not really. You'll just have to wait. And follow my way to beat it plz. Mine's uber! :3 --Lonetalker 07:45, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Umm...

Do you really have to sign up for a monthly premium service to play in the third generation? I kinda like playing without the premium services... Why do you have to?

You have to sign up. Because Nexon is trying to make a profit out of this. If you want it free, you will have to wait a very long time.--Lonetalker 07:45, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Its free. =D

More Umm...

WAIT A MINUTE!!! If you "can't" talk to Aodhan or Eavan after finishing the making an anti fomor robe quest, then how can you do the Aodhan's past/Eavan's past quest(that comes later)? And what do you mean by "can't"? That seems a little harsh...not being able to talk to a certain NPC...like ever again, from what I understand.

You have to beat the Baol infiltration quest first before getting to the "past event" quest. --Lonetalker 07:45, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

windmill strategy

is my explanation of how to use windmill to clear normal spawns in baol infiltration to long/disorganized? Sozen Cratos Focker 19:11, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Reorganising the infiltration tips.

the strategy guides at the botom of the infiltration part of the page are verry redundant, and look bulky even with the drop down boxes. i think we should replace the 4 redundant strategy guides (that all say the same things about wen and wen not to wear the robe, ect.) with a section for when and wen not to wear the robe, and a section for advice on how to deal with monster spawns. the way it is now is so disorganised it's painfull to look at... --Sozen Cratos Focker 08:12, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Guild Chatin on Infiltrate Baol Dungeon part

Will guild chating mess you up??--Zinfandel 01:27, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

nope, only regular chat.--Sozen Cratos Focker 02:32, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

How big is the G3 final boss room?

is it bigger then a reg boss room....?

roughly the size of 3x3 normal rooms. boss rooms in most other dungeons r 2x2--Sozen Cratos Focker 19:15, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
or, if you stand in the middle, and a party mate is all the way at the edge, they're almost at the point of disappearing from view. For another frame of reference. -- Ladywinter 20:15, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
how far things need to be to disappear differs with zoom though.--Sozen Cratos Focker 22:08, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
I would say the size of a distilled factor of 1.5 of an actual boss room. ~ Shadowboy132
That makes no sense.
Distill –verb (used with object)
1. to subject to a process of vaporization and subsequent condensation, as for purification or concentration.
2. to extract the volatile components of by distillation; transform by distillation.
3. to concentrate, purify, or obtain by or as by distillation: to distill whiskey from mash.
4. to remove by distillation (usually fol. by off or out): to distill out impurities.
5. to extract the essential elements of; refine; abstract: She managed to distill her ideas into one succinct article.
6. to let fall in drops; give forth in or as in drops: The cool of the night distills the dew.
Factors cannot be "distilled." --Powder Rune 01:27, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
"actual boss room"? WTH does that mean? are you saying you consider it a fake boss room?
He probably means a regular boss room, but I still don't understand what a distilled factor is :x --Powder Rune 01:54, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Distilled is a math term to "Shrink" or "Expand" things.
Even so, that's still misleading, because the way you used the term doesn't specify if it is shrunk or enlarged by 1.5. --Powder Rune 02:19, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
after reading his explanation, i think he's getting distillation, a method for purifying water, confused with dilation, a geometric transformation........... annyway, the boss room is a bit bigger than 9 normal rooms from that dungeon combined(both the with and height are 3 times the width or height of a normal room, plus 2 times the with of a wall.)--Sozen Cratos Focker 02:36, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

"Cannot talk with (insert "Corresponding" NPC here) after getting Anti Fomor Robe"?

Who put this down? I talked with Eavan after i got Anti-Fomor Robe and i was still able to trade and stuff. ~ Shadowboy132

- this is confirmed, you cannot talk to Eavan with robe. ~ Gensomaden

Comgan's Request

Would like to clarify it is necessary to clear Fiodh Dungeon. --imKrazy 19:01, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

getting "Spirit Seeing Powder"

what EXACTLY do u have to do to get it, do u have to have the bottle equipped when u talk to it, do u have to give the bottle to it, or do u just have to have it in ur inv? well, only 1 way to find out, i will put my results in here--Dtdsora AKA Viri The White Knight-in-training 17:45, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Okay, u just have to have it in ur inv--Dtdsora- no page as of yet- u can make it urself 17:54, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Pets

Don't you receive a pet after completing G3? Shouldn't this be added?Novaix 11:09, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

You do not. People only received a pet after a certain event back in April.--Demaetri (Talk) 11:34, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

A Glitch?

I just cleared Peaca's statue restoration and...the cutscene I got was for Fiodh(the once where Price runs out of the dungeon). It still counted toward the quest, but the only thing actually visible were the NPCs - the background was black. Has this happened to anyone else? --Jαy 19:44, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Errr, I think that's intentionally Peaca's cutscene. Because it's to show that Bangor's under attack next, because they JUST started investigating it, and the statue's broken. Since barri's after fiodh, it'll have to be Peaca.
But as to the graphical error, only the part where Price was running and it showed the dead goblins was the background black. I could see Jennifer and etc's background fine.Novaix 00:01, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
Everything in this had a black background. Also, I thought James was supposed to do the restoration like Rundal and Coill, and he wasn't there at all. --Jαy 00:11, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
That's for the first set, Comgan... wait are you talking for Peaca restoration or for the cutscene in Barri? any, Comgan does Barri, and James does the other dungeons... i think--Dtdsora- no page as of yet- u can make it urself 03:19, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
This was for the Peaca restoration. That's why I'm so confused. --Jαy 03:22, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
Alright (why do you people keep using the colon command? It gets really annoying.) so the problem is, during the scene where james is meant to restore the peaca statue, comgan came in and restored the statue in peaca. And all the background were black. And then there was the barri's under attack cutscene, which was also all black. Wait, couldn't you have gotten both cutscenes confused? Why not go to youtube and watch them to confirm (since the background was black and comgan was meant to show up in a cutscene immediately after, you may have mixed them up, so yeah)Novaix 23:25, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
I got the Barri cutscene for Barri(it was completely alright). Also, youtube doesn't seem to have the Peaca restoration cutscene. I DID manage to take two screenshots, but I don't think they'll prove much: [1] and [2]. --Jαy 23:37, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
Okay, yes. I don't know if anything's wrong with peaca cutscene or not, but comgan should have a background. I also experienced the scene with price killing goblins without a background, unsure if that's meant to be right or not. Either way, we should just get better graphics cards methinks.Novaix 00:14, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
Come to think of it...it does tell me to get a new graphics card before I start the game. XD --Jαy 00:20, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, it doesn't tell me but all the texture tiles flash red and sometimes green. Since I got on back then I always thought it was a christmas event lolNovaix 07:43, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Just clarifying on the original question, I have had the same thing happen. Comgen does show up in Peaca, where it should reasonably be James (since it is grouped with Emain Macha). The backgrounds in both the dungeon entrance and the dungeon were black. I just did it on another human, and I could see the backgrounds, but the background in the dungeon was black (presumed that it should be like that). TINY SPOILER ALERT: For those who don't understand the cutscene (like me the first time I saw it), Riocard and Jenifer accompany Comgen for protection and talk about how they could get ambushed at any moment. Price (who was already in the dungeon) kills a group of goblins that were moving in to ambush. He then pops out of the dungeon and pretends to be scared and suggests they leave. Just an FYI thing. Oh, by the way. I've been waiting for like eight+ mabi days for the Bangor statue restorations and nada..... halp? --Haven923 21:31, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

FYI: Another Glitch (Solved)

I was doing the "Macha accdng. to Emain Macha Residents" book quest when the npcs won't hand over their notes. They would talk about Macha, yes, but no note. I decided to do a runover of what I did in G3 and I found out that I accidentally skipped the first part where you do the Barri dungeon because I tagged along to a Baol Final using a coupon and went straight to Morc afterwards. I also didn't talk to Morc again after getting the "Macha the Goddess of Destruction" keyword and watched the cutscene. So I went to troubleshoot the entire ordeal by going through the Barri Dungeon to Other World again (receiving a cutscene after the boss) and then talking to Morc again with the "Macha" keyword and then talking to him again to receive the cutscene. I tested the keyword at Emain Macha and started getting notes. This is just a heads-up in case someone gets this problem as well.--Aeren 23:21, 25 Jan 03 2010 (UTC)

Need new Picture for Baol Final Pass?

Just got it on my second human, and I noticed that the golden fomor symbol actually flashes (like a golden apple/egg). Is this worthy of having to be updated?--Haven923 22:10, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Nifty Charm of Protection Glove Glitch

I found out through accident that if you have a glove equipped, then drop the charm of protection onto it to swap them out, the glove image stays there on your character, but changes color to match the charm. I think it's cool. I'll check later if it stays if you log out/cc.... --Haven923 22:10, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

No longer works, or at least it hasn't been. --Haven923 16:07, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

About the "Updates"

I know with the pioneers of iria patch and etc. G3 got easier, but I think it's been long enough. I propose we just delete the clutter ontop that says "as of g3, as of pioneers of iria" etc. and make this page look cleaner. It's been over a year and it's not like the generation 3 quest are going to go back to what it was before. --Miyuna 15:59, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

I agree. --- Angevon (Talk) 17:00, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
possibly move the old versions to an 'archive' page for players in Europe who may still be on the older version? -- ladywinter ~{talk page}~ 18:24, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
We're still on G2 at the moment, but already got the easier G1. Wether or not we'll get the changed G3 right away, we'll only know after G3 is released. Until then, I'd ask to keep it somewhere, archive page or not. --Hecate 19:14, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
What we can do for Mabi EU is to make a link to an "old revision" on the history page and put ontop of the page like:
"For Mabinogi Europe Players please visit <link>"
Which would link to an old revision of g3 before the change. Would that work? --Miyuna 20:30, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
I'd rather it be put onto a subpage (like Generation 3: Dark Knight/Pre-Pioneers or something) than linked to the history. That way if a EU player needs to edit the page there will be no conflict with page history. --- Angevon (Talk) 22:10, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

I made a new page for the old Dark Knight page. The best version right before the change of the pioneers of iria. Though I made it Generation 3: Dark Knight (Pre-Genesis) instead of Generation 3: Dark Knight.Pre-Pioneers since we're not sure if Mabi EU will have something like Pioneers of Iria or etc. Is this okay? --Miyuna 06:03, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
