"Receiving Healing while in distress can be obtained in this manner without assistance from others."
What exactly does that sentence mean? The wording confuses me. ---Angevon

I think it means that "Receiving Healing while in distress," which is a training method for the skill, can be trained without getting assistance (help) from others, possibly meaning that you can just heal yourself when under 10% of MaxHP. Mathonwy 05:43, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
Changed the wording, hopefully its clearer now.--Jacobpaige 06:43, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

What is the "Dark Knight Disarm state" mentioned in the "Easy Training" going above R4? Firegryphon 19:52, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

When a DK's time runs out, it starts losing HP rapidly, making it a good target for heal training. ---Angevon 19:56, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
But the DK won't go into Deadly Status, so it's not useful for ranks above 4, right? --Doomsday 13:52, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Correct, they won't go into deadly status and stay transformed. However, deadly status is not required to fulfill the "Distress" healing requirement, only HP below 10% of the total. For example, if a DK has ~1500 HP, as long as the have under 150 HP, it'll count towards the training requirement. --Sogard6 03:03, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

No Longer Trainable?

After the G9 patch i can't use healing to train anything, including healing, which means i can't rank up healing or magic mastery, has anyone else had this problem? (rank f healing, a magic mastery) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Neouu84 (talkcontribs) . Please always sign your comments with the Signature.png button or by typing ~~~~!

"Best Method"

I would argue there's another easy method to train Healing, particularly in the later ranks that require one to heal someone in distress. It requires access to Scuabtuinne (through the completion of G23), particularly the Awakened Abyssal Lord mission.

1. Start the mission 2. Speed past all the turtles (preferably on a fast pet) and make sure they aren't chasing you, or they drop their aggro 3. Stand close to one of the switches with the red auras and wait until Deadly status is attained 4. Use Healing

When the gauge completely fills and the mission fails, the process can be repeated.

Do note that if you chose to go by yourself, Healing will consume Stamina... and a lot of it since you'll be doing this in succession. You may wish to bring lots of Stamina Potions. If Potion Poisoning is a concern, it would be very helpful to bring a Burning Flame Crystal which can be gained by contributing to the Campfire Spirit (via burning 10 items). The crystal will prevent the effect from occurring and it lasts 30 minutes. Otherwise, bring a friend along.

Healing draining stamina

Does on my elf, oddly.

What do you mean by "Drain"? On the page it says healing yourself consumes stamina equal to HP healed...

Zugon (Talk | contribs)23:44, 9 July 2012

But HP is full, stamina still taken.

Doesn't happen to my human character.

I'm a Rank 1 Healer as a Human, and it doesn't drain at full health.

Infodude57500:03, 10 July 2012

I noticed today (4-2-16) as I was trying to prof my wand that it started using stam even when my HP was full. I've done this with many wands and stuff and it did not drain stam before. :(

NVM, right after I posted this it stopped using stam... O.o

MA to healing points

So with a healing rank of A and a magic attack of 139, I only heal at max 20, So I don't think the 10:1 ratio is still in effect.

Marith (talk)18:11, 18 September 2013

Rank 4 healing here. 309 magic attack lets me heal 36-43 and 54-64 crit heals. R4 is 27-31.

Meru (talk)20:03, 18 December 2013

Crit heals? That's new to me.

Infodude575 (talk)20:06, 18 December 2013

Informal referral to when you get a much much higher heal than you normally should under regular bounds. I frequently see over 80 when my heals are in the range of 30-50

Marith (talk)20:15, 18 December 2013

How does one calculate efficiency? Also, how did we find out that Healing charges contribute to defense stat in the first place?

Infodude575 (talk)01:24, 20 September 2013

...cast heal.. see defense go up... use magic to find out that defense went up and that defense came from healing charges...

Mini and maximum efficiency o-o not sure about rest.

まそっぷ ! (talk)01:27, 20 September 2013

As kevin said, its not hidden. You can see your defense go up in the character window when heal is charged.

Pyro - (Talk)09:33, 20 September 2013

Oh okay. What about efficiency?

Infodude575 (talk)10:15, 20 September 2013

[1]
At r2, each charge of heal heals 33 hp. 33*5=165 total health restored. It takes 32 MP to make those five charges. 165/32=5.15625. Round that up to the nearest tenth and that's 5.2 hp per every 1 mp. Of course, this isn't so accurate anymore because it's now a range instead of a whole number.

Sword Of Elsinore

Don't forget about the bonus hp from talent. That's probably why you don't think you're taking damage.

So hold on, Talent HP doesn't show up?

Zugon (Talk | contribs)17:27, 3 December 2012

Something like that, iirc. I remember seeing an issue about it somewhere; I think I saw it on the wiki, but it could have been on NX forums.

I have 64 Talent HP and 509 Max HP. I get damaged 50.9 a tick.

Infodude575 (talk)18:37, 3 December 2012

Apparently, the game can glitch out and you can have more health than your maximum health.

Zugon (Talk | contribs)19:57, 3 December 2012

Ah yeah, something like that. I think it was your max can go over + amount of your talent HP bonus or something. Do not quote me on this nor add anything based on what I this. I have 0 evidence and 40% certainty that statement is correct.

How does Magic Attack affect it? I mean by what formula?

Infodude57522:19, 4 January 2012

I don't think we have enough KR users to know that at this point.

I will begin investigating this as soon as I have a reliable way to hurt myself without killing myself. Funny how windmill no longer consumes hp at the same time this was implemented so it's harder to test.

Blargel19:56, 4 April 2012

Try the Sword of Elsinore.

Infodude57520:26, 4 April 2012

Rank 1 healing, no healing wand, no party healing master title.

35 magic attack: 43 hp

39 magic attack: 43 hp

46 magic attack: 44 hp

57 magic attack: 45 hp

I'm guessing it's every 10 magic attack is 1 extra hp per charge, rounded down. And before anyone asks, I have magic attack enchants so that's why I was able to break 49 magic attack.

Blargel20:12, 4 April 2012

So basically Nexon wrote it incorrectly? MP -> Magic Damage?

Infodude57520:27, 4 April 2012

Yeah it's magic damage, not MP. I already corrected this on the healing and party healing pages. I'd try to figure out how it affects mana shield too but that's way too complicated.

Blargel21:00, 4 April 2012

Shouldn't we add skill range? Also, does it get a range boost from wands?
