To celebrate the Mabinogi x MapleStory collaboration, we are bringing the MapleStory Nine-Tailed Fox into Mabinogi from May 1st to May 21st. Special Ability - Mounted Combat

While mounted on the Fox, Melee attacks will use the player's Damage, Injury, Critical, and Balance rates. This includes the rates of the player's equipped weapons. The player's weapons will gain Proficiency and lose Durability normally.

Unlike Fire Dragon, Thunder Dragon, Thunder Dragon (2-Seater), Ice Dragon, Bone Dragon, Bengal Tiger, and Snow Tiger, the Fox's mounted combat ability is only limited to Normal Attacks (which consume the Fox's Stamina) and Elves are prohibited from using Ranged while mounted.

Equipment and Shields do not affect the Fox's stats.

The pet will always have at least your bare-hand stats, so any Enchants, Titles and Transformations that change them will also be inherited by the Fox pet while mounted.

Monsters killed while mounted will not count toward monster-related Titles such as "the Golem Slayer with a Single Blow."

Trivia

• The Nine-Tailed Fox is a reference to a MapleStory field boss of the same name. Its ability to transform and enlarge itself is also a reference to Haku, the companion of the character class Kanna.
• Despite its name, the fox only has five tails, similar to the MapleStory variant.
