Red Links

Usually when you ask someone if they're not using a file or something anymore you link to that file. Could you change those links after you delete the file so that they don't show up on the wanted pages list? --Link 03:52, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

User:Naota3 is using the NPC template Template:Infobox on their user page and because of that it's listed in Category:NPCs. I've left a message on their talk page but I just checked and found that they haven't done anything on the wiki for over a week. Monster Tables, your opinion?

I'm trying out several possible new templates for the normal monsters.

They are based on the Shadow mission monsters template. Do you have any opinions on it?

Also if I was to want to switch out the monster templates, after having gotten enough feedback, what would be the proper procedure to go about doing it with the least amount of stepping on toes/making the server cry? What I've figured out so far is to change it at 1am PST on a Monday, and to change the data template to reflect the new template. Pet Attack speeds

Are you sure all those pets are "very fast" there are even no weapons that really hit "very fast". For DefaultAttackSpeed, and Par_AttackSpeed (both server-side only):

0=no value (could be any value, whatever the server says)

1=Fast

2=Normal

3=Slow

4=Very Slow

eg. Changing these values do not work, so the xml files could be inaccurate. Most pets have normal attacks or slower (otherwise the ai lag would make the pet ai pretty ineffective).--Hengsheng120·^TALK_CONTRIBS 20:15, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

I believe that a temporary ban would only compound the issue. That user actually doesn't seem to understand why people are raising eyebrows at their actions, so a temporary ban would lead to a martyr complex. My recommendation would be for either talking to the user to encourage them to curb their rudeness or a permanent ban, with more preference for the former than the latter. Of course, if they don't listen to repeated entreaties, then a perma-ban may have to be the answer. -- ladywinter ~{talk | contribs}~ 08:56, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Embedding

Are we allowed to embed videos on the wiki? I have a video of the "mousehole" and going in etc. I'm not sure if its 100% appropriate for the wiki as it was for entertainment purposes not solely the wiki. [1] If it's ok could I add it to the page [2] so it's something like the videos on various combat skills? I can re-film it solely for the wiki if you don't like the current video.

Though Youtube embedding is allowed using the Youtube embedding template, your video seems to be a little off topic from the item page. It would be much better if your video would get straight to the point, instead of all the other stuff with it. --κєνıи _{(»тαıĸ«)} 00:36, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Magic Skills Name Changes

All magic shield-type skills have had their names altered by Nexon (Ice Shield > Ice Shield, etc., a much simpler naming convention). Since this has occurred, the homepage skill list needs to be updated to reflect it. Could you kindly take care of that? Joshgaoliqiang

I know you already saw the vandalism he put on the Alchemy mastery page(the continuous line of "g"s), but I'm not sure if you were aware of his vandalism on the albey dungeon page(a line of "O_O"s). Ladywinter fixed this, but I'm just hoping you can do something about this guy, if you haven't already. It's simply a waste of time for other people who have to fix his edits, and someone like that shouldn't even have access to a wiki account. I may come off as harsh, but I don't mean to be harsh towards you in any way. Just people like that who vandalise other people's work piss me off.

Emain Macha Cooking Contest

I think the contest is held in rounds, with the final one being held for the 3 best chefs competing for that week. Spam accounts

I did a bit of poking about to see whether other accounts were created with the IPs those one you killed had made. On average, each of those six to eight IP addresses of the accounts you torched had six to eight accounts each. Checked each IP address, mowed all the accounts down, then nulled them on the box. Thankfully, none of the other accounts had a chance to do any other crazy crap.

Though what I'd like to do is see what it takes to report wiki spam to these people so we can get them accordingly punished.

The url you put there is a personal vanity URL of faceboook. That has nothing to do with phishing, the URL existed on someone else's profile. The true Nexon America Mabinogi Fan Profile URL is http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mabinogi/120517645746 . Since this profile is relatively new it probably does not have a vanity URL. About what to do with corrected pages

Ive been working on adding images to the pages listed as needing them, but i dont know what to do with the page afterwords. It still shows up in Category:NeedPicture. Is there somewhere i should be putting them after I add the image(s)? Or should i just take them out of that category? Or just not do anything and let you handle it?

Taming Bait

Disambiguation Pages

I may be wrong but I think a disambiguation is meant to list words or phrases that can be used to replace each other in a sentence and still have the sentence mean the same thing [that should have been "have the sentence make any sense" --ZRoc (Talk) 03:43, 12 October 2009 (UTC)]. Example, "I mined some Gold Ore at Bangor dungeon" can be replaced with "I mined some Gold at Bangor dungeon" but "I picked the Gold Mushroom at Dugald Aisle" really cant be replaced with "I picked the Gold at Dugald Aisle". At the moment, it appears some disambiguation pages are turning into a search list of items that include the target word. For Golden Egg, Golden Apple, Gold Mushroom and Gold Herb there is no sensible way they can be replaced in a sentence with Gold and therefore there is no disambiguaty. However, Gold Coin, Gold Ore, Gold Ingot, Gold Plate and Gold Bar can be replaced by the word Gold (although your being pretty vague in using it for the ingot, plate or bar). Similarly, for Paper Crane, Paper Hat, Paper Glove and Paper-shaped Stick there is no sensible way they can be replaced in a sentence with paper. However, Sketch Paper can be replaced with Paper. Not all the disambiguation pages have this problem, only a few have gone overboard. A disambiguation page should clarify possible misunderstandings of a word not present a search list for that word. The search input box on the left of this page will do far better at providing a search list, as it will always be up to date. I noticed that Random had renamed two pages Paper to Paper (Handicraft) and Bolt to Bolt (Arrow) so that Paper and Bolt could be used as disambiguation pages. I think he/she did this before you added "(disambiguation)" to those pages. I changed them back but others might have had the same done to them. I've edited the Fire (disambiguation) page, I haven't changed any others and you can change it back if you don't like it. Please look at it in Edit mode, I would like to use the comment (only seen in edit mode) on all disamiguation pages. About the Notice

I know, I'm very sorry about that. I accidentally upload that picture when trying to upload a picture of Cromm for the G8 page. Then I was fussing so much with fixing that page that I forgot about it. At first, I tried to delete it, but I didn't know how to.

Is it possible for us to delete uploaded pics or is that a mod thing?

Advice on monster templates

Are bullets really needed for the advice section? I figure that's more appropriate for the notes section since it's about individual monster traits and they shouldn't really be grouped together. It appears that Twinsteel edited Voichi's page without the latter's permission (from the comment in History and on Voichi's talk page, Twinsteel is claiming a player name on Tarlach doesn't belong to Voichi). Enchants: Guard/Guardian

I just noticed we have a page for Template:DataEnchantGuard and Template:DataEnchantGuardian9. Both appear to be the same enchant, the only difference being that the Rank 9 Enchants page uses Guard, but it may be Guardian in the actual release.
